Re: Introductions

  • Hi @knottie and welcome to our bmb! Please consider changing your name so it’s easier to tag you and get to know you. The post named “read before posting” has instructions oh how to do it. You might have to log out and back in for it to take. Happy to have you here with us!

  • @twizzleraddict1 welcome!!! Congratulations and so glad to have you!! The real question here is pull n peel or regular?!?
  • @paytonpedro haha omg, literally ALL of them (except the rainbow ones or the ones with liquid inside, ew). My favorite actually is chocolate :) I have a pack of them in my nightstand currently lol.
  • @paytonpedro asking the real questions here...

Welcome @twizzleraddict1! Happy to have you here. Feel free to jump in any of the threads and join in the conversations! I promise we don't bite... hard. 🤣
  • @paytonpedro asking the important questions @twizzleraddict1 Welcome!  Based on your screen name, we have so much in common already.
  • @wigglyicecream Thank you! It took me a second to figure out the name change but I got it lol
  • @nadou14 glad it finally worked. We look forward to getting to know you! You will find our group is very supportive.
  • @nadou14 also I just re read your introduction. I have an anterior placenta and they have yet to find baby on the Doppler so I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. My best guess is the placenta must block the ability to hear baby when they are smaller.
I also saw you will be a scheduled C section, if you want to share I would love to hear your reasons. I’m going to be a c section and have some anxiety about it.
  • @wigglyicecream That's exactly right. My tech told me it's an additional layer that the doppler isn't quite strong enough to get through. They said it can always change as they grow and the placenta can always move.
  • @bfelosi welcome and congratulations! Inexplicable rage is absolutely your hormones. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Feel free to jump in any of the threads and participate!
  • @bfelosi welcome and I’m seconding @bridgiebee82… rage is absolutely all of the hormones.
  • @bfelosi Minnesotan here. There is plenty of sun in MN! Cold in the winter, yes. What I like about the weather here is summers are always warm and sunny.

  • @bunnywashere welcome! There aren't many of us who live in the Midwest on the August BMB so I'm excited to see another Midwestern. It is not uncommon to have very little symptoms in your first trimester. Many women struggle to connect with baby and feel pregnant until they feel baby move/start showing. So you're definitely not alone there. Hopefully once that happens you'll start to feel like baby is really there.
  • @bunnywashere Welcome! I'm from the midwest as well!
  • Introduce yourself: Hi! I’m Tae and I’m from Mississippi.

    Due date? Aug. 27

How did you find out? I went to get tested for covid but decided to take a pregnancy test in the lobby bathroom and asked them to test me too.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I have no others children. I have a cat named Lena. I am a Civil Engineer by day and a baker/dessert specialist in my spare time. I love people and being with friends. I love animals and nature. I recently got married in January.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I feel like I’m finally turning a corner at around 11 wks. My first appointment was cool. The baby’s heartbeat was strong. I now know what I’m having(I’m 14wks and 4d now.)

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? Mind reading😩😂😂
  • Hello and welcome to the August 2022 BMB!

Introduce yourself: My Name is Nadine, 46, originally from Germany , but have lived in Texas for the last 21 years.

    Due date? August 15th

How did you find out? I flew home to Germany to be there for dad on Hospice and woke up mid December feeling nauseous and sick to my stomach, tender Boobs, the whole nine yards.. my mom and sisters finally convinced me to take a pregnancy test ( totally unexpected as I was on Birth control). Found out two days before losing my dad that I was pregnant.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I am mom to two wonderful Girls ( 24 and almost 18, so yes, we are starting all over). They were quite shocked themselves when they found out they are going to be big sisters (again). I married the love of my Life last month on 2/22/2022 after having been in a relationship for the last two years. I am an Office Manager for a non profit organization and have worked there for almost 19 years. we have three dogs and two cats along with three horses ( one f them a rescue we saved a month ago from starvation).

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
My first appointment was at 10 weeks on 1/18 and just had my 18 week appointment this morning. will have my Anatomy scan with Maternal specialist ( high risk due to my age) in two weeks. Nausea, heartburn, sore boobs are not my friend right now..lol. Emotionally a little nervous as it almost feels like I am a first time mom all over- so much has changed in the care now compared to back then, bur I have a great Partner who is super supportive and does what he an to make this pregnancy easier.

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? I would be able to teleport and be back at home in Germany at a moment's notice whenever I wanted to to hug my mom :)

  • Hello and welcome to the August 2022 BMB!

Introduce yourself: HI everyone! Congratulations mamas!

    Due date? August 9th

How did you find out? I was tracking ovulation, I just had a feeling it worked and tested the day before Thanksgiving. I swear I felt implantation happen lol

Tell us about yourself: I am a 35 YO SAHM with a 22 month old daughter. She's an absolute tornado and I love her to pieces. I'm so excited for her to meet her baby brother! I've been with my SO for almost 10 years. He paints exteriors/interiors of McMansions here in ski country (i live in the Catskills of NY). He works 2 jobs so it's usually just me and my girl all day everyday.

How are you feeling? Currently 19w. So far so good. No where near as moody as I was with my first. Weight gain is significantly less this time around as well,, I think chasing a toddler is good for cardio lol. My back and hips tho OMG I just want a wheel chair for the rest of pregnancy lol. Thank goodness this is my last pregnancy, I'm not the biggest fan of having no control over my body. I have my anatomy scan on Tuesday and I can't wait!

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be: time travel! I'm a big ancient history nerd, I'd love to go back and see what everything really looked like, like Rome and Egypt!
  • Introduce yourself: Hello! I’m Katie and pregnant with my first baby. I live in Atlanta, GA. This is my first post, so hoping I’m doing this right!

    Due date? August 26th

How did you find out? Had a very strange dream, took a test and it was positive!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I’m married and my husband and I have a 2yo Australian Shepherd, Shelby and a cat named Millie. We met playing ultimate frisbee and have discovered a new love for pickleball this last year. He works as a nurse and I work as a public health analyst.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Today feeling anxious leading up to our anatomy scan. I have a slightly elevated AFP so they bumped up my date from 20 weeks to 18 weeks. Otherwise symptoms have been minimal-just tired and thirsty.

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? Flying

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? telaporting would be so convenient!
  • Introduce yourself: I'm 39. First time mom but third pregnancy. This baby boy will hopefully be born about one week before my 40th birthday.

    Due date? 8/18/22

How did you find out? My period was a day late and I was visiting my sister to help her take care of her premie newborn. My cycle is usually like clock work and bam, positive. It’s neat because I found out on my nieces formal due date. This was our very last “go” as we were going to look at adopting this summer if we weren’t pregnant and it took only 2 months of trying. This baby is my “third time is the charm” miracle 💙

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I live in Denver with my husband and Boston Terrier, David Bowie. We love being outside, hiking, camping, and enjoying live music. I also ride horses and am really missing that form of therapy right now! I work for a small DC-based govt consulting firm.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Feeling pretty good now at 18+ weeks. I felt hungover in my first trimester. It’s all feeling real. I was very cautious about things my first trimester.

  • Introduce yourself: I'm also 39 pregnant with my 2nd child. (This is my 3rd pregnancy, had a miscarriage last year)

    Due date? 8/05/22

How did you find out? My husband and I were trying again a few months after my miscarriage, so we weren’t surprised, but very excited!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I live in the Boston area and works as a middle school teacher. I’m originally from Brazil and am raising my daughter as a bilingual kid, which is so hard! Live with my husband and we’re excited to welcome a baby boy into our family💕

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Feeling pretty good now, just very achy and struggling to get comfortable at night. Love doing yoga to find some relief.

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? Definitely too be able to teleport to different places, so I could be with my family in Brazil more often and easily.
  • So exciting! Nothing like a baby as our 40th birthday gifts! 😍
  • Hi I'm not sure if I am doing this right...but I finally made it to 20 weeks, didn't want to comment until now- felt like a jinx! I have a 7 yo daughter and this time around we had difficulty keeping a pregnancy. I feel like I finally made it now! Due 8/17 with a baby boy!

  • knottiee46302aec03b1e4a I just started commenting too. I have had so many heartaches that I wasn't trying to get myself super excited until I seen my baby for like the 4th or 5th time. We still haven't even told all of our family yet and I have had an anatomy scan. 😬
  • I support you! Tell them when you're ready 🙂

HOW I’M FEELING: 23 weeks + 3 and feeling wonderful! No nausea or pain to speak of. Only thing I can really complain about is waking up like 5X a night to use the restroom 🙃

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I’m feeling okay. I’m 35 weeks now so I’m definitely tired of being pregnant. My symptoms are back aches, Braxton hicks, headaches, fatigue, growing pains, etc.

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? Unlimited energy.
