Introduce yourself: Hello, this is my second time being on the bump but first time being active in the community
Due date? 8/27/2022 per calculator, sooner per OB due to scheduled c-sec
How did you find out?
I missed my period and realized I had implantation bleeding
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I have a 2.5 yr old little boy and am looking forward to him having a sibling. I had him at age 41 and will be 44 when this little one is born. Very grateful to God for these two gifts seeing as how I got started later in life. I’m a licensed mental health counselor and recently launched my private practice. I’ve been married for 5 years and my husband is amazing❤️. I enjoy spending time with friends and family.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I’m feeling worried at the moment. The nurse couldn’t find baby’s HB with the Doppler at 13 + 3 days and doc had to come in with the US to show me baby’s HB. Since then I’m left with an uneasy feeling wondering if everything is ok
GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? I would love to teleport anywhere in the world
Hi @knottie and welcome to our bmb! Please consider changing your name so it’s easier to tag you and get to know you. The post named “read before posting” has instructions oh how to do it. You might have to log out and back in for it to take. Happy to have you here with us!
Hi all! I know I'm late to the party, but hopefully not TOO late!
Introduce yourself: I'm in my early 30's, STM. Had a great birth experience my first time around and crossing my fingers for a repeat!
Due date? 8/21/22
How did you find out? DH and I were trying, but I guess I tested just a few days too early because I tested negative and so I assumed I was not pregnant. Fast forward a month and I tested positive - yay! When we went to the doctor for our first ultrasound, it turned out that actually we WERE pregnant the first month but I tested too early. So we were actually further along than expected at that first appointment!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I live in the northeast with my husband, our daughter, and our dog! Love traveling (in a non-covid world) and would consider myself a foodie :)
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Starting to feel that second trimester energy but have found this second pregnancy to be harder than my first (more nausea, more exhaustion, etc)
GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? Hmmm... probably the ability to read people's minds.
@paytonpedro haha omg, literally ALL of them (except the rainbow ones or the ones with liquid inside, ew). My favorite actually is chocolate :) I have a pack of them in my nightstand currently lol.
Welcome @twizzleraddict1! Happy to have you here. Feel free to jump in any of the threads and join in the conversations! I promise we don't bite... hard. 🤣
@nadou14 also I just re read your introduction. I have an anterior placenta and they have yet to find baby on the Doppler so I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. My best guess is the placenta must block the ability to hear baby when they are smaller.
I also saw you will be a scheduled C section, if you want to share I would love to hear your reasons. I’m going to be a c section and have some anxiety about it.
@wigglyicecream That's exactly right. My tech told me it's an additional layer that the doppler isn't quite strong enough to get through. They said it can always change as they grow and the placenta can always move.
@wigglyicecream I don’t mind sharing. I have high blood pressure and will be 44 when I give birth. My first pregnancy in 2019 was an emergency c-sec and I’m completely ok with scheduling it this time.
I completely understand feeling anxious. My recovery the first time actually went really well. This time may be challenging with a toddler running around but my husband is hands on and very helpful.
Hi! My name is Brianna, and I’m from Minnesota. This is my first pregnancy and it kind of came as a surprise, but a good surprise!
Due date: August 17
How did you find out: Well I had just gotten married on November 13, 2021 and was very regular with my cycle and on December 13 I realized my period was late and so I took a test and BAM, we are expecting 😅
Tell us about yourself: My husband and I really love animals so together we have 3 dogs and 2 cats. I work as a Dental Hygienist and I love to read and I watch WAY too much TV (bring on the reality garbage tv)
How are you feeling: Honestly, I’m really struggling with my intense mood swings. I am usually not an angry person but the smallest thing can set me off and put me in an intense rage. I’m hoping someone can let me know if this is normal or if I should be concerned. It’s really taking a toll on my daily life 😂
GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be. I would love to be able to control the elements and make it more sunny and warm here in MN
@bfelosi welcome and congratulations! Inexplicable rage is absolutely your hormones. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Feel free to jump in any of the threads and participate!
@bfelosi Minnesotan here. There is plenty of sun in MN! Cold in the winter, yes. What I like about the weather here is summers are always warm and sunny.
TTC#1 10/2018: MFI (2 SA under 9 million/ml) 11/2018: HSG shows right Fallopian tube slightly damaged 1/2019: Husband diagnosed with grade 3 varicocele 4/05/2019: varicocele repair surgery 6/13/2019: BFP!!! EDD: 2/22/2020 Baby girl born 2/27/2020 7/18/2019: Total Motile Count at 3 months post surgery = 51 millions!! (number must be >20 millions to conceive naturally).
Introduce yourself: I'm Jess. I live in the Midwest. This is my first (and probably only) pregnancy.
Due date? August 5th
How did you find out? I felt weird for several weeks and suspected I was pregnant, got a positive test around 4-5 weeks and confirmed with an ultrasound a few days later that I was 5 weeks. I didn't believe it but we were so happy to find out.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I'm a producer in the video game industry, which is pretty exciting most of the time. My hobbies mostly involve video games, playing music and drawing/painting and we're so excited that our child will be surrounded by art and music growing up. I live with my husband (who is a concept artist) and our two cats.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Honestly, pregnancy has been hard for me. I had no symptoms in my first trimester aside from being sleepy and having tender boobs, and so far second trimester has been uneventful aside from being insanely itchy. It's been hard to wrap my head around being pregnant and I've not even started planning what to buy yet because I just still don't feel like I am. So far though, doctor says my baby girl is healthy and very active in there, so that's comforting. I struggled with depression and anxiety before I was pregnant off and on, and the second trimester has been a little more emotional for me. Lots of crying over little things.
GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? I never really thought about it, but I imagine it would involve flying.
@bunnywashere welcome! There aren't many of us who live in the Midwest on the August BMB so I'm excited to see another Midwestern. It is not uncommon to have very little symptoms in your first trimester. Many women struggle to connect with baby and feel pregnant until they feel baby move/start showing. So you're definitely not alone there. Hopefully once that happens you'll start to feel like baby is really there.
Introduce yourself: Hi! I’m Tae and I’m from Mississippi.
Due date? Aug. 27
How did you find out? I went to get tested for covid but decided to take a pregnancy test in the lobby bathroom and asked them to test me too.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have no others children. I have a cat named Lena. I am a Civil Engineer by day and a baker/dessert specialist in my spare time. I love people and being with friends. I love animals and nature. I recently got married in January.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I feel like I’m finally turning a corner at around 11 wks. My first appointment was cool. The baby’s heartbeat was strong. I now know what I’m having(I’m 14wks and 4d now.)
GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? Mind reading😩😂😂
How did you find out? I’m currently 17wks and have never had any major symptoms or anything occur that wasn’t out of the ordinary. I mentioned to a friend that my period cramps were a little more intense than it normally was, and she encouraged me to take a pregnancy test. i did one in her bathroom, and that’s how i found out. I had already been over 2 months at that point. if i never took that test, i would’ve never known i was pregnant to this day.
(was on the pill with extremely light periods, so if i didn’t have one that month, it was normal. periods lasted less than one day, and i’ve only ever needed a panty liner.)
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) first pregnancy, 3 dogs (japanese akita, shiba inu, beagle). i’m currently a counselor for at-risk youth, and currently in grad school to be a LMFT/LPCC. i enjoy reading, traveling, organizing, crafting, eating, among others. My husband is excited to become a dad, and jokes around about how he’d love to be a stay at home father. He’s been so supportive throughout this pregnancy, especially with me working full time while going through a full time grad program.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I get tired and out of breath more easily, but other than that, not much else. I’m grateful to say i’ve had an easygoing pregnancy. Emotionally overwhelmed sometimes with all i’ve got going on, but thankful for my support system. During my first appointment, i was so surprised.
GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? To control time would be my #1. reading minds would be a close second.
Introduce yourself: My Name is Nadine, 46, originally from Germany , but have lived in Texas for the last 21 years.
Due date? August 15th
How did you find out? I flew home to Germany to be there for dad on Hospice and woke up mid December feeling nauseous and sick to my stomach, tender Boobs, the whole nine yards.. my mom and sisters finally convinced me to take a pregnancy test ( totally unexpected as I was on Birth control). Found out two days before losing my dad that I was pregnant.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am mom to two wonderful Girls ( 24 and almost 18, so yes, we are starting all over). They were quite shocked themselves when they found out they are going to be big sisters (again). I am an Office Manager for a non profit organization and have worked there for almost 19 years. we have three dogs and two cats along with three horses ( one f them a rescue we saved a month ago from starvation).
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) My first appointment was at 10 weeks on 1/18 and just had my 18 week appointment this morning. will have my Anatomy scan with Maternal specialist ( high risk due to my age) in two weeks. Nausea, heartburn, sore boobs are not my friend right now..lol. Emotionally a little nervous as it almost feels like I am a first time mom all over- so much has changed in the care now compared to back then, bur I have a great Partner who is super supportive and does what he an to make this pregnancy easier.
GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what your super power would be? I would be able to teleport and be back at home in Germany at a moment's notice whenever I wanted to to hug my mom :)
Introduce yourself: HI everyone! Congratulations mamas!

Tell us about yourself: I am a 35 YO SAHM with a 22 month old daughter. She's an absolute tornado and I love her to pieces. I'm so excited for her to meet her baby brother! I've been with my SO for almost 10 years. He paints exteriors/interiors of McMansions here in ski country (i live in the Catskills of NY). He works 2 jobs so it's usually just me and my girl all day everyday.
How are you feeling? Currently 19w. So far so good. No where near as moody as I was with my first. Weight gain is significantly less this time around as well,, I think chasing a toddler is good for cardio lol. My back and hips tho OMG I just want a wheel chair for the rest of pregnancy lol. Thank goodness this is my last pregnancy, I'm not the biggest fan of having no control over my body. I have my anatomy scan on Tuesday and I can't wait!

It’s neat because I found out on my nieces formal due date. This was our very last “go” as we were going to look at adopting this summer if we weren’t pregnant and it took only 2 months of trying. This baby is my “third time is the charm” miracle 💙
