@kiperoo, When I did mine a few months ago, they let me do it on a day I would be home. Will they let you wait until the weekend?
Oh, yeah! I can wait for the weekend, but that's not ideal either because I'm generally out and about with the toddler. I'd prefer to do it on a weekday, but will likely end up doing it on a Sunday and limiting our excursions out of the house to an hour at a time. :-)
@mrsrep123: I too am lucky to have a healthy little guy who never had any ear/sinus/flu/general illness issues for a really long time. (He gets it from his daddy!) It's really hard to see them sick. You're not alone in feeling this way. Especially for the first time. Don't be too hard on yourself! And you're saying you feel like you can't make him feel better, but you are! because you're there with him! Comfort, closeness, hugs and kisses---all these things go miles in helping the little ones heal and feel better. You're doing great, hang in there!

I am so excited to have this baby, but I already think I'm going to miss being pregnant. This whole process is just amazing despite the inconveniences, acid reflux, nausea, etc.
@nda_roxybabe@h&pmomma With DD my belly button just got to the point where it was flat, it never popped out. This time it is already pretty close to flat so we'll see if it keeps going.... and mine seemed huge on its way to flat as well.....
also little fun tidbit,... last time once my bellybutton got flat it turned this really dark brown color but it was like this weird dead skin so if i exfoliated it would come off, but be back again in like 2 days. it was the weirdest grossest thing! it kept doing that till about 6 weeks after I had DD
@SKZW , agreed that the thread on hospital/birth prepping is spot on! I've already started to compile a mental list of the things that I found really useful in the hospital. As strange as it sounds, I'm GREATLY looking forward to the recovery time in the hospital. Quiet time with the baby and my husband and the toddler hanging out at home with grandma. And being at the end of the pregnancy journey and knowing that the baby made it out safe and I'm doing ok. Can't wait for that little bit of relief!
@mrsrep123 your lucky this is the first time he's sick! My son is almost 1.5 and I feel like he's always sick. Not much more you can do. I have some all natural baby rub that I put on his chest and feet, also he takes a bath with the vapor baby bath.
I know classes were mentioned at one point. The registration for the classes I'm going to take recommends finishing them at least 4 weeks prior to your due date. For me, this would put classes throughout April. Do you think it makes sense to take them at that point, and not earlier, so the material is still fresh? Or, would you bump it earlier just in case?
@Kipperoo When I had DD2 I totally took advantage of the quiet time at the hospital, meals brought to me, and just relaxing with my newborn! DH was trying to get us out of the hospital as soon as possible (he doesn't like sleeping on the little bed) and they would have let me go after 24 hours but I took full advantage of the 48 hours as I knew when I got home it would be back to two kids, cleaning, cooking, etc. I just wanted as much time as possible to focus on my new baby!

@Kipperoo I'm totally looking forward to that too. I have such fond memories of that special bonding time and being in the bubble of being taken care and knowing baby was here and healthy!
My random is that I love these ladies and how spot on they usually are, and am so happy they made a video calling attention to PPD and struggles.
I saw Feb17 started a thread to check in, and I think it's a great idea once we get closer to delivery. It's so easy to feel alone and like you are the only one going through things!
Randomness. ? My MIL bought my baby girl to come tons of cute outfits insists that "she" is going to dress her everyday maybe even twice? And also don't want to give me the clothes she bought for her..... (it's like she's having the baby herself
@livin541 I totally agree. I will voluenteer to do a weekly check in once we get closer. I had such horrible PPD and I felt so alone last time. I also was nervous to tell anyone, so I struggled on my own in silence for an entire year! Once I finally started talking to fiancé and family about it they all knew they saw it but didn't know what to do. It took probably another 6 months will o worked it all out. However this time if I happen to have it again I won't suffer in silence! No one should!!!
I too am looking forward to the quiet time in the hospital with LO. When DD was born, we were in the hospital from Wednesday - Sunday. MH had such a hard time sleeping that this time I plan on sending him home after night one. Is it crazy to be in the hospital by myself?
I felt like the hospital was so busy with people checking me and DS so often I was never able to relax!! I'll be asking for a 24 hour release so I can come home and have my mommy take care of me and sleep in my own bed.
@mrsrep123 - Have you tried any of the Zarbees products? A friend recommended them, but I was hesitant to use them until a nurse at our Ped said the same thing. I could tell a difference when I gave it to him, and he didn't seem to hate taking it.
@Kipperoo omggg we are having twin pregnancies (except for the liver issues, I'm sorry). I just turned in my urine today. I hate doing it so much. They basically are like "everybody gets it again that has had it, so we want baseline numbers." Which makes me think I will have to do it again later in the pregnancy (boooo). It's so crazy I haven't had high BP or anything. With DD I had high BP at my 39 week appointment which is why they made me do the urine. I turned it in to L&D and then went upstairs to be monitored and my BP was fab, but indeed there was too much protein so I was kept and induced. I really don't want to be induced this time around!
Randomness. ? My MIL bought my baby girl to come tons of cute outfits insists that "she" is going to dress her everyday maybe even twice? And also don't want to give me the clothes she bought for her..... (it's like she's having the baby herself
That's super weird. Does she live near you? Is she going to be watching her when you go back to work?
If it makes you 24 he urine ladies feel any better, we HATE receiving them in the lab too. Soooo much worse than normal urine, which is unpleasant to work with anyways.
@starphish18 my hospital just recommends taking classes at 0-9 months of pregnancy lol I'm taking most of mine in March and April, but am taking a relaxing methods during labor in February because the next class is in the middle May.
I'm tired of peeing myself. I took my underwear (and liner) off after changing into PJ's, I had gone to the bathroom already and just wantred to be comfy while I had a snack and worked on a cross stitch chart before bed. So of course I cough and pee on myself.
It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
I am going to be under "conscious sedation" tomorrow to get my port put in which means I can't eat anything after midnight tonight. I go in to the doctor at 10:30 am. I have been feeling pretty normal appetite-wise but now knowing that I can't eat at all tomorrow I'm suddenly starving.
@mrsrep123- our little guy is about the same age, and he just had similar symptoms. Turns out he had strep! I hope your LO starts feeling better soon. We did make some homemade popsicles which seems to help his throat during the day.
Speaking of belly buttons, my grandma tapes a quarter to every newborn's bellybutton in the family to "make it an innie" and leaves it on for like a week (she's done this probably 10 times, including to me). It's one of those weird myths that you never question until you have a spouse that's like "WTF?" Haha so we won't be doing it. He convinced me it's dumb and a choking hazard. Gotta love grandmas.

Totally random, but I love this board. I completely love DD's bmb now, but I didn't get involved early enough there to get to to know people actually on TB until the end of my pregnancy. This group is great, and I'm loving recognizing regs earlier.

@RainyDays86 , good luck today!! Wishing you a smooth recovery.
@bacorrea , we seriously do have nearly twin pregnancies! This 24 hour urine thing annoys me mostly because I NEVER spend a full day in the house--I'm either at work or out and about with my toddler on the weekend, so I feel like I half to hold myself captive to get it done. And it's pretty disgusting to keep a jug of urine sitting around in your fridge. I hope I don't have to do it twice...like the glucose test, which I stupidly thought I was in the clear from repeating. UGH.
@RainyDays86 Sending good thoughts your way! Thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed it goes smoothly and beautifully!
Question: The last two days I've had terrible arthralgia, my bones and joints ache like no one's business. At first I thought I was getting sick, but that and nausea is really my only symptom. I have had terrible nausea throughout this pregnancy so now I just feel like that's a pregnancy symptom. I'm achey all over, but no chills or fever, no sinus issues or cough, I don't think I'm sick. Am I just pregnant?
I had a root canal yesterday and had a bit of a panic attack afterwards when I realized they used lidocaine with adrenaline and not just lidocaine. Spoke with my ob shortly after and she reassured me and sure enough I felt the baby moving a few minutes later.
Today I'm still having crazy horrible pain under the tooth and took tylenol for the first time this pregnancy. I feel so nervous to take anything even though I know it's safe, just because of my panic yesterday.
Has anyone else had to manage pain with painkillers during pregnancy before and had it be fine? Like I know it's fine but reading it on medical websites isn't the same as hearing from other wise mamas.
@nda_roxybabe. We are team green and we refer to baby as baby. I not a fan of "it".
@kaley04. I'm not taking anything for a head cold Doc said my immune system would kick in and to let it runs its course. I'm also still nursing DS so I'm reluctant to take meds bc of that too.
Speaking of nursing, anyone still nursing a toddler? We're down to just bed time. Just for a minute and not to fall asleep, he rolls over and goes to sleep on his own with cuddles from momma. I can't figure out how to successfully wean.
@kipperoo. I'm also looking forward to my hospital recovery. Our hospital is really nice and the food is great. I'm also looking forward to fully utilizing my nurse for crowd control. How do you kick out hospital guests who have out stayed their welcome? I'm tempted to say no guests with the exception of immediate family.
@lulubemadness. That is weird with your MIL. You are momma. Will she be keeping LO? What made her baby's wardrobe coordinator? I'd be happy to have the clothes, but why won't she give them to you. Weird!
