Ugh @Yiggle09 that is frustrating. 30 minutes for lunch is tight enough as it is, you don't need someone taking up all your time. And without apologizing. That sucks.
@Yiggle09 that is unacceptable! also you are pregnant and the meat needs to be properly reheated so they also potentially put you at risk by doing a shitty job. The 100% lying to your face is also a real dick move.
I understand feeling embarrassed, I struggle to stand up for myself in situations where I've clearly been wronged, so you should be proud!! I hope to be more like you!
@Yiggle09: That totally blows. The lack of concern on their part... so wrong!! I'm glad you talked to the manager. (& maybe something good might come out of it?)
@Yiggle09 Wow, that is highly unacceptable! Glad you said something to them, because they can not do that to people. I especially dislike when people look at you like you're the one in the wrong. People should know better than to mess with anyone's meal!
My boss told me this morning that I look "ill" and then asked if I had been getting enough sleep because my eyes looked tired...I AM tired and we have a very friendly relationship, so I didn't take it too personally, but I figured it was a good excuse to allow myself a second coffee today. So, I ventured to Starbucks at lunch, grabbed a panini and and iced latte and as I was walking out a young (early 30s) woman stopped me and said, "You should double check that they made your latte decaf and your sandwich is heated well before you leave...wouldn't want to harm that little one!" (pointing to my stomach). I stared at her for a few seconds and then said "I think the sandwich is probably ok and my latte is not decaf, but thanks for the concern." As I was walking out, I was thinking...man...if a baby can handle chemo (hi, @RainyDays86!), I'm pretty sure she can handle a little extra caffeine on a day that the person growing her is struggling.
Normally I just would have said "oh yeah, thanks!" and went on my merry way, but I'm sick of the guilt people lay on pregnant people for just living their lives. And, full disclosure, this curt response was probably spurred by my severely poor mood due to today's political events.
@Kipperoo Ugh the unsolicited advice from strangers is so annoying. When I was pregnant with DD1 I was at the grocery store buying coffee creamer (for my husband, I don't even drink coffee) and an older lady scolded me for drinking coffee while pregnant. I told her "thanks for your concern, it's actually for my husband. But I'll remember that when I go down the beer aisle to buy that for him too..."

@Kipperoo holy crap! I would've been so annoyed! You are "allowed" a certain amount of caffeine so leave me alone! Also, I often get other things like chai, hot chocolate, etc...how do they know what it is?!
@Kipperoo good for you for saying something - your food/beverage choices are none of her business. I have never had someone make a comment like that (probably due to my intense RBF) but if they ever do I hope I'm quick enough on my feet to do more than just stare at them. People lose their damn minds around pregnant women. I must say more than probably everything else I am dreading the stares my 6-months pregnant self is going to get when I lose all my hair.
And yeah, chemo is a good frame of reference - if the baby can handle that no problem surely some extra caffeine or a glass of wine here or there isn't going to be a problem.
@Kipperoo ugh i hate that. I had the woman in our cafe ask me yesterday if I was sure I could have mayo...i wanted to say.... "yup i didn't stutter".... but instead I said, ahh it's my second i'm sure he'll survive, Everyone else around laughed.
Seriously why do people even feel the need to comment, I don't see them running out to the parking lot asking the smokers if they're sure about their decisions... i'm pretty sure smoking is still way worse for your body then eating a sandwich while pregnant... sheeesh
@Kipperoo ughhhh people are the worst sometimes. And she's obviously never had a sandwich from starbucks before because those things are insanely hot.
Again, jealous of everyone who isn't too shy/quiet to call people out immediately. Embarrassed to admit I still struggle to tell people how uncomfortable it makes me when they touch my tummy.
@Kipperoo Good for you for say something! I hate the shaming and guilt put on pregnant women, mothers, women in general! Especially today! We're on your side!
Thanks for the votes of support, ladies! Strangers try to talk to me all of the time. It's so weird because I'm really not an overly friendly person, but something about me must scream that I am. I literally had a woman in the mall last weekend stop me to tell me that my son is cute (okay), congratulate me on the new one (again, okay), ask me if it's a boy or a girl and tell me how lucky I am that it's a girl (whatevs...giving her a pass, even though I hate that response), then point at my husband and ask "is the marriage ok?" WTF?! Maybe I need some pointers on your RBF, @RainyDays86 . :-)
Has anyone had an almost tight feeling in your chest, mainly with Braxton Hicks contractions, I don't remember this from last time. I'm on the fence about if it's worth a call since I've had it for a few days.
I just want to shoutout my obgyn and my dentist, both are amazing women who have given me the best care ever these last few days. I know it's their job but they have been especially compassionate and I am so grateful
@chickyclg I'm of the mindset it's always better to ask and feel silly than not it be something worrisome. When in doubt, call your OB. I had some sharp chest pains two days ago, but it didn't last. It's worth a call.

The fellow military spouses on here will appreciate my agony. I'm currently sitting in the pharmacy with my 5 and 2 year old. I just pulled my ticket of A317... and they are calling A270. So excited for this long wait

Oh god. I hope you have snacks. Good luck. Every time someone is like ughhhh the DMV I'm like oh girl, that's like my pharmacy and half the offices I visit, suck it up buttercup!
Misplaced FFFC: my husband works at a hospital so I usually just have him call down and ask for my meds and he meets them when he has a minute. No lines! I am going to miss this the most when he's out I think.

I came prepared with SO many snacks. This isn't my first rodeo lol. They have a TV going with cartoons but no sound, like that would keep a toddler occupied lol. My husband is about to drop his packet for PA school and I just told him that I can't wait for that to happen so I can get faster treatment lol.

I just got my free welcome box for my Amazon registry. It came with some nice things, including a swaddle blanket with hedgehogs! I'm way more excited about this than I rationally should be.
@starphish18 how long did it take for you to receive it? We've created an amazon registry too, but haven't received anything...maybe I missed something?
Reminds me I still need to stop at customer service at Target!

@starphish18 mine had that blanket, but a helicopter instead of an elephant! Confession- I made a totally fake baby registry in order to get the free box of stuff. And I don't have prime so I did the 30 free days to get it
@chickyclg you have to complete a baby registry (in all the categories, you can click "completed" if it has a bunch of items you don't want to register for) You have to spend at least 10$ on something that was on your registry, and you have to have Amazon prime. Don't click any payment options at that step of checking out, or it will try to charge you like 30$ for it. Otherwise it's free.
@starphish18 - Holy wow! I got that package, but my stuff was nowhere near that good. Maybe we can do it again if we use my husbands email or something - I NEED HEDGEHOGS!

I THINK it said only one per shipping address, so maybe get it mailed to a relative's house? I may be wrong and it meant email address, though.
Nice Amazon box! I'm super jealous. We requested ours the day before they announced the holiday box (yours I believe) so our was full of crap. The only baby thing we got was a pampers diaper.
@starphish18 I did my registry on Amazon and didn't know you could click complete on categories you didn't need anything from! My 30-day free prime expired too. No welcome box for me I guess.
@CherryBananas I'm honestly five except when I have the BH contractions so I'm not too concerned. My OB is overly cautious so I am sure a lot of this is CYA. The ER is also going to send me to L&D to confirm the are just BH.
