  • @chickyclg I am the same way. I have several things for the baby in my amazon cart but they have been sitting there for a while. I think I need to hit the physical store as well.

    11.2011 - DS1

    02.2013 - loss at 6 wks

    06.2014 - DS2

    10.2015 - loss at 12 wks

    03.2017 - DD

  • I just mentioned this in last weeks randoms, but may get more response here :)
I've been sleeping hot, like wake up dripping in sweat, gross kind of hot. One of the big issues is I feel like the air is so hot and stuffy, I can't get it cold enough to breathe in. We live in Arizona so its already so dry, then we've turned on the heat (it's cold) and that makes it feel dryer. We have the ceiling fan on and I have a clip on fan on my nightstand blowing in my face, poor H is freezing. Would a cool mist humidifier help with this?

  • @nda_roxybabe I would think so. It wouldn't hurt to try.
The sweating is the worst. After I had DD with all the hormonal changes and what not I sweat SO much. It was disgusting. I was wearing like three different outfits daily. Maybe buy your hubby an extra blanket?
  • Chicco has come out with a new stroller "Chicco Bravo for 2" it looks perfect for what I need. DD will turn 3 right around the time I give birth. She is pretty independent, but still likes to be held. We also fly a lot. I think I'm going to get this, plus all a chicco is 20% off at Target this week! The only downside is that I will need a Chicco car seat because my infant one wouldn't pair with this stroller, but it's still cheaper than getting the a 2017 Britax B Ready with the second seat.

Does anybody have Chicco gear that they like?

here is the link Chicco BravoFor2 Stroller, Zinc https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6J571P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_HVpFybA52EHYM

Yes, my thought this morning was like omg am I like a menopausal woman with the night sweats?! Yes, yes I think I am. It's mostly my thighs (ew) and neck.
We have some extra blankets, I'll see if wants one. He's been great about it, but he's just kind of like...you want the fan on...?? Okaay...

  • @nda_roxybabe I ran very hot when I was pregnant with DD. My husband would often where layers while I had on a tank top and shorts. I found that it helped a little to take a cold shower right before jumping into bed.

M my work is going to be absolutely crazy for the next 1 1/2 months, so I may disappear at times. But I will still be trying to read threads late at night.
  • @chickyclg - I know what you mean. I've bought a grand total of 3 items of clothing for this baby. When I was this far along with my son, he had an entire wardrobe already! I just haven't seen anything online lately that I love.

  • @nda_roxybabe I am also running hot when I sleep. Luckily we live in the Midwest so at night I turn the heat down and have the ceiling fan on. We have an electric mattress pad on our bed so I turn it on before we get in so it's warm and I turn it off while DH sleeps with his on so I can be cool enough and he stays warm snuggled under the covers. We also have a whole house humidifier and still sleep with one in the room because it's too dry and so far I haven't had a problem.
  • @bacorrea thanks for sharing! I'm thinking this may be a good fit for us too! I've been researching strollers like crazy and even though I would love a CM or something similar, my almost 3 year old is not a stroller kid so I think it would be wasted. The sit and stand option is great, and I love just it works with the Chicco Keyfit car seat we already have!
  • @nda_roxybabe I think you should try a humidifier. I've been to AZ (my family lives there) and live in NC now, where there's tons of humidity. I didn't fully realize the benefit to humidity until living in NC. I think a humidifier can work wonders. Give it a try! If you don't like it, your little one to be may when they are sick or stuffy, so it's good to have one on hand.
  • I've been so hot at night, only at night, too!

I have a question. My best friend wants to throw me a shower and I really don't want one. This is our second child, my son is three and we are having a girl this time. I have friends that are giving us clothes. We need a couple things but nothing we can't handle. I just honestly I don't want all the attention and I feel like it's unnecessary. All my friends in that group have had showers for second children so they think it's normal. Is it rude to put my foot down that I don't want one? Or should I go along and only invite very close friends and family?
  • @champhe could you just let best friend know you don't want a shower per se but maybe a little sprinkle or just a luncheon?  It can be fun to get together with friends to celebrate your new LO and keep it a little more low key.  We did this recently for a friend of mine for her second and it was a blast with out being too big a deal!
  • @champhe - I think that @jayandaplus is right. Do whatever you really want to do. If you really don't want one, put your foot down. If you just don't want one because you feel guilty but would like one, go for it, you get a pass from most people because you're having a girl this time.

  • To all of the women sleeping hot: JUST WAIT until you put that waterproof mattress cover on your bed at the end of pregnancy (if you choose to do that). We put it on our bed around 35 weeks, and it was like those people that do workouts in trash bags to lose water weight. Sweat. city.

For moms who have had multiples --

I'm 19w3d with twins right now, and I'm struggling hard. I had maybe 3 weeks where the exhaustion lifted and I felt like second trimester was upon me--almost normal. But the past few days, I've started having dizzy spells or something. And today, you know the feeling you get when you push yourself too hard exercising? I've been feeling that almost all day. Is that.... normal? I feel like it probably is, but if this is only gonna get worse, I'm just, well, I don't know. I have a full time job with a long commute, and I'm wrecked today. I don't know what to do. I already go to bed as early as I can, but at some point, I'm just not able to fall asleep. What the hell do I do?

  • @sls Not a Mom of multiples, but I've mentioned my dizzyness a few times. I also get that pushed yourself too hard feeling sometimes, just a lot of fatigue. I don't have much in the way of helpful suggestions, just some assurance that you're not alone :)
Actually, I've noticed I feel worse if I have coffee (just one cup, within the limits suggested for pregnancy). I also feel better if I eat a lot of small, healthy snacks throughout the day. Yogurt, bar, cheese plate...

  • I was wondering whether Chicco infant seats are on the upcoming Target sale too. We have a Graco that we love. We stored it in our garage and it fell off its shelf at least twice.  I'm pretty sure that means I need to replace it. I need to verify with Graco. Assuming so, I'm in the market. I'll probably get another Graco when BRU has its trade-in event, but a good Chicco price might convince me to switch.

Are you thinking trade-in event should be next month? I was just going to trade-in our expired seat too, but now I'm not sure if I should go for the Chicco sale if Target is having one or wait for the trade-in. It's a 25% off coupon at BRU right?

@h&pmomma yes! Chicco is 20% off this week. I just ordered the stroller and the chicco key fit. For some reason online they aren't coming up as 20% but I called customer service and they fixed it for me.

@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot yes! All chicco gear is 20% off this week, and all Graco stuff is 25% off next week.

I'm not having multiples, but the exhaustion sounds totally normal. I would try and drink more
water, that should help with the dizziness. You can bring it up with your doctor, but unfortunately that sounds pretty normal.
  • @sls - Not a mom of multiples but a third timer and while I have had more energy than it sounds like you have had, at 25 weeks, I am constantly getting dizzy spells, feeling fatigued and sometimes, I even feel the fatigue where your body feels heavy. I also have a hard time breathing much of the time. I felt this way with my other two but it seems like it comes earlier and earlier each subsequent pregnancy. I honestly feel like I should be 34-35 weeks based on how I feel, not just 25! I am sure that you must be pumping more blood and getting more pressure from your LOs than the rest of us so I would assume normal. However, if something doesn't feel right to you, I would reach out to your OB to ask. Always trust your instincts.

I either have the stomach bug or something didn't agree with me because I've thrown up a few times in the last hour and it is hell. I didn't get morning sickness and I don't know how you ladies survived. Props to you ladies you are stronger than I.

  • So while this is my second pregnancy it's the first time I have had sex while pregnant (I know, I know) My ute is 10 kinds of pissed. I've been drinking water and waiting it out but I'm wondering if anyone else's gets crabby for a long time afterwards? It's been like 4.5 hours and I'm still uncomfortable and crampy.

@sls Twin mom here!   To be totally honest, I was miserable with the twins.  I was a Substitute teacher when I was pregnant with them and by 22 weeks I just couldn't take assignments anymore, at that point getting the clothes in and out of the washing machine was just too much.  Sending you lots of hugs because it sucks, I also talked to my OB and was able to get Ambien to help sleep.

  • Random post but i was so afraid what would happen to my body with twins because i put fat on everywhere with dd and swelled sooooooooo bad. I know I'm only at 23 weeks and don't want to jinx it, but i have virtually NO swelling and feel like the babies are sucking the fat out of my face! I havent felt like i had a thin face for a few years now (i mean thin for me... I always have big cheeks no matter what i weigh )
  • ANyone else having issues with the Bump app? When I try to come to our bmb, it looks like the webpage, not the app, and it doesn't show me which threads I've read and which has new comments. SO annoying.

This is a constant occurrence with the app on my phone. I just have to go back and re-click the link or refresh the page, and it always resolves. Annoying, though, for sure.
