Nice Amazon box! I'm super jealous. We requested ours the day before they announced the holiday box (yours I believe) so our was full of crap. The only baby thing we got was a pampers diaper.
@absbubbs: wait, you mean only ONE diaper? What a horrible sample! I guess it's fine if you had a newborn in your presence for only about 1 hour...

  • Sorry @chickyclg! Hope everything is ok!
  • @chickyclg and @BabyMC517, Squirtgun basically answered this already, but you have to have 100% completion in all the categories. After I registered for everything I needed, I just checked the rest as complete. You have to also be a Prime member, and then purchase $10 from the registry. I just added something extra I was going to buy but not register for and bought that. Then you have to actually claim the box and go through checkout. It sounds complicated, but there's a little checklist under "welcome box" at the top of the registry when you go into it.
  • @chickyclg I hope everything is OK!

Haha, mine also had a single newborn diaper (I honestly didn't know they were that small) and some wipes in the Pampers bag, but the little bag itself should be super useful to store stuff in.

I remember with DD1 I got a single sample newborn diaper and I remember every time I would walk into the nursery I would stare at how tiny it was! It was like our first real baby thing that I could picture my baby being in!

  • Holy moly lots to catch up on today.

    @chickyclg I hope everything's ok!

Mini bitch: I got my car fixed at Subaru today bc there was a recall on the airbag and I had it detailed because my husband is a dirty person and gets grease all over my light upholstery and it looks like they just vacuumed the damn thing! Wth did I just pay $80 bucks for!
  • @chickyclg hope everything is okay and that your er wait isn't too long!!
  • @chickyclg Hope everything is ok and your visit is quick!

I waited two hours in the pharmacy, took my prescription home and opened it up to take it and the little pill says "mucinex". WTF. I waited that long for something I could get over the counter?!

The fellow military spouses on here will appreciate my agony. I'm currently sitting in the pharmacy with my 5 and 2 year old. I just pulled my ticket of A317... and they are calling A270. So excited for this long wait
    Omgggggg I'm so sorry.
  • @chickyclg hope everything is ok! Thinking of you!!

  • Someone I know from over a decade ago posted their birth story on Facebook (they're a blogger and fantastic photographer). How she had the energy to post that just a week after delivery, I'll never know. Anyways, she told a very in-depth story of her 24 hour delivery that didn't go at all as planned. She wanted a natural birth, but they had to induce, she ended up needing an epidural, and they had to use other meds she didn't originally want. It was really neat to be able to read through all of that. If anyone here has a prior birth story they'd be willing to share in excruciating detail, I'd be very interested in hearing it. Would anyone else? Maybe we could start a thread?
  • @starphish18: some of the other months' boards have a "great big labor post" about all things labor, where people can post questions or birth stories or currently-in-labor / at-the-hospital-now updates  :-)  we could certainly do that for our Maybabies  :-)
  • @starphish18 I LOVE birth stories and would totally be interested in a thread if others would.
  • I creep on previous BMB here just to read birth stories! Some of them are short, but some moms do go into great detail!

@starphish18 I am so completing my Amazon registry. I had no idea they sent a welcome box even though i used their registry last time.

  • I just created my registry too, I already have prime and I just bought some burp clothes for like $10.99 for the welcome box too!! Lol

  • @Jen_Shoes it must have been the day for crappy detailing. I sat at the car wash for over an hour, and when I got home I realized they hadn't cleaned the inside windows (toddler handprints everywhere!) or wiped my wheels with a towel so they are still mostly filthy. Wtf?

@starphish18 I wasn't planning on registering for anything, but that box has changed my mind! Thanks for posting!!

  • I'd be more than willing to type up my story. I think it was a doozy
  • @SKZW yeah, one lonely diaper. Everything else was random stuff. Like coconut water and a "protein" bar (there was like 4g and tasted gross). I'm getting tempted to try to make another one to get a real baby box! Sam's Club and Wal-mart also send baby boxes without needing to have a registry. I really liked the Wal-mart one, they send useful coupons, another single diaper, a ton of samples, and a bottle.
  • Birth stories always make me wish I had a little more exciting one. Scheduled c-section due to breech presentation. I went in at 6:30, got all set up. I fought to keep my bra on, and an awesome nurse made it happen. Went in to surgery at 8:30. DD was born at 8:52. I am beyond thankful everything went so smoothly, and wouldn't change it, but it is a bit of a yawner.

  • @chickyclg glad to hear it's just a a uti, not that a uti isn't one of the most annoying things ever.
I just had a handful of digital x-rays and was super worried about radiation but digital exposes you to one tenth the amount of radiation as a classic x-ray.  Do you know if yours were digital too? And since we're second trimester there is a lot less risk involved with radiation. I'm sure your doc told you all this but jic
  • @laurapalmier I honestly don't know if it was digital or not, it was on a portable machine so maybe.

  • I've been feeling terrible all week so I went to the doctor this morning and it turns out I have pneumonia. I've never had this before, I hope it goes away quick. They gave me an antibiotic and told me I couldn't take any cough medicine because I was pregnant. Anyone have this before while pregnant?

    No experience but feel better!
  • @Yiggle09 they told me that the ER doctor would have the results in 30 minutes to an hour, the machine was much smaller than any X ray machine I've ever seen before though.  The radiation from the X-ray I wasn't too concerned about, it was the other test I had where I had to breathe in some special gas.  That tech totally had me freaking out because he went into crazy detail over risks.  But at this point I'm just glad all is ok

  • @Yiggle09 Thank you for explaining all of that! I was at the doctor yesterday because I've had a persistent cough that is not getting any better and she wasn't super happy with one of my lungs. She wanted to send me for a chest Xray but decided to be a little more cautious on the X-ray since I am pregnant. I'm on some medications now and if I'm not improving by next week I'll go in for an X-ray so it's nice to hear about the new technology and radiation exposure IF I do end up needing it!

@Yiggle09 thank you for explaining this further! I'm in Canada and my x-rays were at the dentist, but I just saw my first Quebec dentist and my Ontario one definitely used film so I'm feeling very lucky.

@h&pmomma oof, I hope your cough lessens up by next week!  maybe you could request digital if you do end up needing an x-ray? My dentist is also a mother and she laid 3 lead aprons over my belly and said "Physically, this makes no sense but it makes me feel better and if it makes you feel better then that's worth something." It definitely did, hugged those things so they fully wrapped around my tummy.
  • @lrwardrop feel better! Pneumonia sucks

I work close w our physicist and he said the machines are so good these days that we don't need to shield anyone. He said the machines send the radiation so tightly to where we want it that shielding actually becomes more of a risk with infection control if they aren't cleaned than any small amount of radiation you might get outside the light field. When my boss said what about pregnant women the physicist said to shield but it wasn't necessary. I was shocked because we were always taught to shield extra. Also CT scans are 100 to 200 times the dose of x-rays and they can't shield you for those so a little chest xray is so "safe".
Jumping off my soap box lol
  • My back is spasming :( I know I complain about my back a lot, but man, it just sucks. Lying on ice and being babied by my husband is helping a bit...

I did start physical therapy last week so hopefully there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Yep! For a couple weeks now, even though I am at the caboose of May due dates. I was told it's normal, usually caused by changes to the vascular system? I think...

Yes, I started getting it this weekend. Sometimes it's positioning if I'm lying too flat on my back.
