@ecwk I had a couple of weird freckle like tags on my nipples with ds. My doctor sent me to a dermatologist to be on the safe side and he just said they were hormone related. They went away on their own. For piece of mind I would bring it up at your next appointment, but just wanted to share that I had a similar issue and it turned out to be nothing.
Just a quick question I have already accumulated a few items of clothing and blankets for the baby is it okay to wash them now and store them away or leave them until closer to my due date? I don't want to end up having to wash anything twice

Personally, I would wait. I just don't think they seem as fresh if you wash them this far ahead of time and would probably end up washing everything again closer to the due date. But I think this is kind of a personal preference thing where plenty of other people would say it's fine to do it now. So whatever you want!

I say do it while you feel good. The only thing is they won't smell as fresh, but they will be clean.

@ecwk i had an oddly shaped, dark, slightly raised freckle/mole appear on my areola with my second or third (can't remember which) baby - i asked my doctor and he didn't seem concerned at all, but we always keep an eye on it. mine didn't go away after pregnancy; i still have it

RE on the freckles, I got them kind of all over with DD and also on my areola. They didn't go away but my doctor was not concerned and said it was common.
Screw the areola freckles/spots, what about the ones on my face?!? Seriously it looks like I have refried beans on my face. And I have more spots this go around.

That too. I have a smattering on the top of my cheeks/under my eyes and meeting on my nose. That happened last time and it's already getting darker now!
The Snoggle is AMAZING. I know it's a bit pricey, but you won't regret it. I even bought the jersey knit cover to go on it so I can wash it and it is softer. Wish they had a silk/satin cover...I used to use a satin pillow and it cut down tons on the frizz in my hair.
Anyway, get it. You won't be sorry. It does take up a ton of space in the bed though...but we have a king size bed. I use it laying out on my couch too on lazy Sundays.
So I finally.got through this thread and I see you figured out LFaF... its a mixed group that formed from the threat of the second cull after the first exodous... (anyone around long enough to know about the formation of the DS?)

@skruhmin I was just reading the other day about 'the mask of pregnancy' some women get. I hadn't ever heard about it before. These hormones are no joke...
Has anyone had before or is receiving physical therapy? The bursitis is getting annoying (sort of helped by finding/stealing a new chair at work).... I would like to avoid steroid injections if possible
I try to keep moving by walking the dog, yoga and entertaining the thought of swimming (switching gyms to on campus so I can go in the middle of the day to break up the monotony of sitting at a desk)

I've been feeling grouchy towards my inlaws lately and they haven't done anything out of the ordinary that would make me feel this way, I just don't want to talk to them about the baby or anything to do with pregnancy. I normally get along great with them and love being around them. Would this be hormones sneaking up on me?

I can relate to this. I honestly love DHs mother but I seem to only ever feel annoyed with her anymore. Granted she likes to be right in the middle of things and that is new to me as my mom is different and allows me to control my own life, but I didn't have any issues with her opinions until I became pregnant. I feel bad that I feel like this but I can't seem to help it!

I had PT for my knees. The key to making it work it sticking to it. Even on the days you may not actually go in, you should make sure you do the full set of exercises they teach you.
For my knees swimming was amazing. One of the few times I was completely pain free.

Ooh yeah, swimming is amazing for pregnancy too - I know it majorly helps when I start getting huge.

My best friend works a desk job and she had lots of back problems. She saw a chiropractor twice (I believe) and swears by it.

I am with you completely! My MIL is also all up in everything and thinks she needs to know all and has always been overbearing with DH and SIL. My mom is much more go with the flow and has never been one to be pushy or anything like that so that was very hard for me. I don't think I noticed (or maybe it just didn't matter) before getting pregnant. Then we got married after and that was another battle. DD is two now and things are back to normal where we get along fine and I can look past a lot of that stuff, she has also gotten leaps and bounds better at keeping some things to herself such as baptizing DD or how we should be raising her, etc. So for me it was partly hormones/stress, but part of it was realizing we have different personalities and we both worked at making sure we have a good relationship and respect boundaries. It's hard but it will be okay!
When put on bed rest, if you are able to work easily from home (specifically If your work is easily done online) can you? I do primarily editing and it is not very stressful and mostly on the computer. I actually get more done when at home Than at the office anyways.
I'm not on bed rest now but there is a chance I may be around 28 weeks. I just want to be prepared on what I can expect restriction wise. I feel like if I can be online in bed, I can work from bed.
I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked but I am having terrible allergies at my parents house because they have a cat. I really need some allergy medicine and I've heard mix reviews on Benadryl - any thoughts? Thank you.
@buhalley Benadryl is on my list of OK meds that my doctor gave me. So is Claritin, Zyrtec, Sudafed, Chlor-Trimeton and a good old fashioned neti pot lol.
Another question... Do the first movement you feel from baby always feel gentle and fluttery? I can feel right now an almost gently throbbing sensation on my right side where babe is. It's probably nothing and it doesn't feel fluttery and gentle. It's like a very weak shock, so weak I almost wouldn't notice it. And it has stopped already.

This is what I feel too, almost like throbbing but not regular at all. I'm almost 19 weeks and I haven't felt any flutters, but for a couple weeks now I've felt little kicks, almost like a nudge or gentle poke.

This is how I would describe the movements I'm feeling too! Along with pressure when she moves... Very exciting!
The first time I felt it though, I did stop and wonder if something was wrong... Until I felt it happen more regularly!
Thanks for the replies!! I feel so excited because I think these might finally be the kicks I've been anticipating! It happened three times today, just briefly! It's really good to read that you guys have experienced the same!
Man I feel bad for not keeping up on this thread... let's see, where to start... The moles/dark spots: your body produces more of the pigment melanin (I am a horrible speller so forgive me if I spelled that wrong) while you are pregnant. It is very common to develop spots all over your body. Normally, as the hormones decrease, the spots fade away. Anytime you have a dark, flat 'freckle', it is just a store up of the pigment. (Sunlight helps your body produce melanin which is why some of us beautiful ladies get freckles when out in the sun)
Movement: from the studying I did while pregnant with ds, the earliest movements felt are generally the baby rolling over (some feel it as butterflys, others as bubbles). Some women never notice those, and instead first feel the kicks. Kicks tend to feel differently, jabs and thumps are usually what I see them being referred to. Imho, the hardest to describe is when the baby is big enough you can feel it's every move (lol, almost) all I can describe it as is "I don't know, the baby is moving!"
Pain when rolling over: could be rlp, could be baby. I know when I have been sleeping in a spot and go to roll over, the babies are usually laying in a certain spot (if I am on my left, they are laying towards the left too). When I roll, it can get pretty uncomfortable, to the point of painful for a moment, as the babies shift with gravity.
I hope this helps, if not, well at least it is still the weekend so there is plenty to look forward to (ex: no work!)
For anyone that makes it this far: my question is this: is anyone else experiencing discomfort when the baby is sitting in certain ways yet, or is it a multiple thing with it being this early? I know that later in pregnancy, it is common. But at 17 weeks, I can already see and feel a big difference when the babies move from one area to another. To low, and I feels like my bladder and pelvis is being almost painfully squished, to high and it feels although I am 9 months and about to pop. Anybody else feeling this already?
@red3ye awesome answer, thank you!!! Sorry I can't help with your question...it might be a multiples thing. I only have noticed once when baby was to one side when I woke up. Hope someone else can help.
@MrsLeanMeanClean that sounds like RLP to me. I get something that sounds like what you described too when I roll over sometimes, a sharp pulling sensation. Sometimes I think it's worse if I need to pee but maybe the two are unrelated.
I have a question that I feel like is 100% dumb but oh well
I'm 19 weeks today and I'm wondering if my kiddo can move around. I don't mean like kicking and rolling....I mean move from one spot to another inside of my body. She has always been hanging out on the right side but lately I think I've been feeling movement and kicks more on my left. Is she big enough to be scooting herself back and forth from side to side or am I completely imagining it?

Yes! And by 19 weeks baby has arms and legs and can scoot around. They can sort of "swim" around.

I have a dog whose 1/2 pug and 1/2 minpin and she does this exact thing, starts paddling before she even touches the water, hahahahaha
So i tried to search the Board but wasn't finding what I was looking for.... Has anyone needed a follow up anatomy scan? The tech said she couldn't get the spine or all images of the heart. I didn't see the doctor, but I'm due back in 4 weeks for a follow up, should I be worried or does this happen sometimes?
