Any of the ladies that have dealt/are dealing with high blood pressure- mine was pretty constantly in the 130-140/80-90 range until a few days ago. Now it's staying in the 90-100/70-80 range and I'm constantly short of breath and dizzy (when it's high and low). I'll be asking my dr but I was just curious if any of y'all had a huge flop like that?
When I was first pregnant with DD my BP dropped, I think that is fairly common. I ended up with preeclampsia so it ended up skyrocketing but initially it dropped like that and my doctor said that can be very normal.
I have low blood pressure which makes me dizzy and short of breath. I have to increase my sodium intake another 500mg more than a usual daily intake. My regular blood pressure is usually 106/50 it did get as low as 90/40 in which they made me chug salt water which was horrible. I am also hypoglycemic low blood sugar which also sucks so I'm constantly eating to keep all my levels up. It's only gets lower when I'm pregnant it's so weird.
@lightrox I feel like the whole blood pressure deal just wears me out! I'm a worrier so I'm like ugh it's high oh no! Then when it comes down I'm like oh no it's low what now?! I mean being pregnant doesn't give us enough to worry about as it is so why not tack on a few extra things?! Lol Edited cause spelling is hard today

@kynbar5 I know how you feel I'm constantly having to check my blood pressure because it will go low and I will pass out. It is exhausting like growing a human being wasn't exhausting enough.
Same here with the low BP. I thought maybe I was having weird headaches and headrushes bc it was too high (bc it gets higher at the end for me and has been a prob before) so my neighbor has been checking it for me in the afternoons when it's worse and it has been really low, like 88/58. My nurse said it's common for a BP drop in pregnancy and it's not a prob all day so I guess it's okay? About the itchy eyes, I have horrible allergies that get worse with pregnancy and one of my friends told me to never use drops besides saline or breastmilk bc stuff you out in your eyes goes straight into your bloodstream and that's why some people would do drugs that way (?? - her husband is a narcotics counselor so I just believed it) but she's also super conservative about zero medications during pregnancy (or ever basically - she's all into holistic everything, which I think has its place but she goes overboard). There's my ramble on that.

Oooh another person who normally runs low! Last appointment being pregnant apparently got me to a "normal" bp, which is concerning to my doctor.
Anyone have any tips for keeping from getting sick? I can feel it coming on, hopefully just a cold, and want to try to avoid it or minimize it as much as possible...
I've been traveling all week for work and both where I was and at home have had constant rain and cold weather, ugh. I'm going to leave work early today to get home and get some rest, going to buy some chicken soup for lunch, and am drinking a cup of tea right now. Anything else that might help me feel better and possibly keep whatever-this-is from fully coming on?
ok....kind of a weird question.....is it normal for it to be a little painful now when I feel like I have to pee? Peeing itself doesn't hurt (like a UTI), but my lower ab muscles hurt when my bladder is full until its empty......it just seems weird...

Absolutely normal lots of muscle changes going on, including your pee muscles.

When can you call insurance about a breast pump? I'm 16 weeks, just wondering is it too early to call and request one?
Not sure how early. I think I heard within a month of duedate last go around. Some won't provide one until after you give birth - you need a prescription for it usually.

Typically you can put your order in whenever but they don't ship until a month prior to your due date. Or if you tell them you delivered early, then they send it to you right away. Check with your insurance provider to see what their policy is. I had Anthem BlueCross last time when I delivered DD, and this time I have United. They both have similar policies. It's probably still a bit too early to get one but you can certainly start doing research on which one you like best.
Usually any lower ab pain you feel after a big pee is like your ligaments or muscles easing up from being stretched from your bladder.
UTI symptoms can also be different when you're pregnant (much less intense). That's why they test at every visit. It's harder to tell if you have one during pregnancy.

Has anyone been waking up with charlie horses? I drink plenty of water and I stretch before bed (doctor said it would help), but I still wake up with them and have to massage my calves to make them go away.
I get Charlie horses pretty regularly in my sleep. Especially in my calves. Doesn't seem to matter what I do. I had them throughout my pregnancy with Ds too. I just walk them out, but they are still really annoying!
I haven't had Charlie horses this time yet, but did with my others. They suck! I've heard eating bananas can help too because of the potassium, but I'm not sure if it's true!

I eat two a day (waiting for breakfast to cook and after I come home from work)!
I used to get them at night after I'd had a long run day. Drinking a lot of water throughout the day and a banana before bed would help. Don't know if that would help with pregnancy Charlie horses but I'm assuming so.
yes! the leg/foot cramps from hell are more intense and more frequent and happen earlier with every pregnancy! and even during the day sometimes! and if i bend wrong i get a cramp in my ribs! i mean, who gets a rib-cage muscle cramp?! gah!

Okay...so when I went to my last appointment last week they told me that my BP was a little high. I didn't get any explanation after that so I figured it was probably just because I was excited to find out the babies sex that day. Since then (and a few days before even) I've been feeling like my heart is pounding especially if I'm sitting or laying down. It actually takes me a little while to fall asleep because I can feel it thudding in my chest. Before I chalked it up to pregnancy but now I'm a little worried. I've been thinking about going to a clinic to have it checked. I don't feel like I've had any additional stress or anything like that so I don't know what to think. I guess my question is has this happened to anyone/what did you do/what should I do? I'm 17 weeks.
You can get your blood pressure taken at a pharmacy, some have the cuff machines right there. That will let you know if it is too high. I have high blood pressure and can hear my heart when lying down.

@bntfroggie was your BP high before baby? I'm just curious because I've never had high BP before and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Do they keep you monitored or on some type of medication? I'm going to go to CVS tomorrow and have it checked and if it's high again I'll call my doctor. I just feel like I worry too much about things but I don't know when to be concerned or not.
With Ds I was diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension. (Bp of 150/110). I was put on medication and bought a digital cuff at Walmart (20$-40$). I had to check my pressures 2x/day and went on bed rest. I think it depends on how high your blood preassure is. If it is just pre hypertension your doctor may just monitor it. Having your own digital cuff may help ease your mind about it.

What kind of panel did you get? I find if I have half panel, I can't keep them up - I seriously prefer full panel the entire time.

I have the same problem with the full panel pants! I bought some side panel pants this time around and they seem to be much better.

I was looking at a pair from Target, that will probably be what I go for. I live in jeans, so it'd be hard to have to give then up!
Okay so I found out I was pregnant 2 days before my ship date to Army basic training. I spoke with the NFC and he said to consider discharging for now with a delayed entry discharge and start a new contract after I deliver due to me having to wait an extra 6 months to go to training after delivery. I still have to attend PT drills every month but I literally just sit and watch all weekend long while everyone else works out. I still get my paychecks monthly, and still receive all military benefits. I would have more than enough time after delivery to go to training before the deadline since I joined April 1st, 2015, and my EDD is March 10th. So the question is to discharge now and start a new contract after delivery, or to stay on the current contract? I've been debating for a while now and haven't come to a decision yet.

i find no matter what kind of panel i choose (full, demi, side, underbelly) i have to wear a bellaband to hang onto my pants, otherwise every few steps im doing the yank-up and shimmy LOL
