@pineconey I was actually just reading facebook...and there is this family that has had a rough year - their baby has been in the hospital since birth, for the past 6 months! He finally just went home, but they have 3 other kids. I saw someone comment and say they would love to help out with Christmas for the kids, and the mom replied that would be so awesome, as they were behind on their bills and struggling. I never would have thought to offer that to someone! At least I would KNOW my gifts are going to a good place! Maybe i'll do something like that!

And, just to have another comment, we're doing an angel tree kid and one of our local radio stations does a 'long haul against hunger' and you can drive up to them while you're out shopping and they will take whatever donation (food or money) you have. I collect change at work and take it up there, and clean out all my canned goods and take them too. It's all donated to the local food bank.
I've had such a long day. The only thing that was going to cheer me up was a three piece chicken meal from KFC. So yummy! I get home and its only a two piece!!!! I cried over my chicken:(. Sad.
May be a ffc or uo but I am sick of everyone asking me to donate $1 or round up every time I buy groceries or Check out at cvs. It happened to me three different times today. Bah humbug.
I am embarrassed to say this but I feel the same way lately. went to the grocery store with $15 dollars (that i took from our baby jar) for Milk, rolls, eggs, & salad mix and when the lady asked I said no, felt kinda guilty but at the same time didn't. My total was like $13.80 and DH's pay day wasn't for like 3 more days... Anyone want to donate to the twin's jar?? Maybe I'll start asking that!
having a serious need for chicken now. aghhhhhhh. doc says i need more protein, but our budget says hell to the no way am i running out to buy anything right now
ETA: i just whined to DH "i want chickennn" and he immediately started singing "i want liver, meow mix meow mix please deliver!" i almost peed my pants. not that this would be unusual for me.

Would it be considered overly confrontational to ask perfume-drenched-coworker to please spray lighter? I almost just hurled.
Maybe I'll hurl on her and then she'll get my point.
Just throw up in your trash can (or pretend to) so she can hear it, and when she asks "oh sweetie are you ok??" you can say "yea, I'm fine...it's just your perfume..." then pretend to hurl again. Hopefully that'll get the point across without making too much of a stink.
I made a ridiculous amount of chorizo (Mexican sausage) and eggs for supper with the intention of saving some for SO. Well... I ate it all, minus a little bit that I shared with my pup... And now I want KFC, so that's just freaking great.
@karissamonzo we can be high risk together. I guess I won't waste my time heading over to that board.
What's your story lady!?!? Sorry that's not excitement that you are high risk!
I'm having identical twin girls so started seeing the MFM two weeks ago. Everything was going great and I thought today was goin to be a "see you in two weeks" appointment. I had an ultrasound today and baby a is looking good but the fluid for baby b is low. Now I get ultrasounds twice a week. They are thinking I have twin to twin transfusion going on.
This early? Oh girl that sucks I am sorry. Does that mean guaranteed bedrest from early on? I have a family friend who had triplets, and the identical twins had twin to twin transfusion and she ended up getting some sort of surgery that fixed something in the cord and it stopped (I don't know if she was a special case but it was the first I heard of surgery for that issue). But the point of the story is that she has 3 perfect little triplet boys that are 2 years old. They all turned out fine.
Surprisingly no bed rest. Dr said there is nothing I can do to help or hurt this. On Monday I have to go to the office at the hospital because I might have to have an amino. The dr did tell me about the surgery and if I needed it there are only a few hospitals in the country that does it. This sucks but the good thing is they caught it early and there are different things for them to help stop it.
What is twin to twin transfusion, and how is it harmful to the babies? I realize this may not be a simple explanation, but I'm genuinely curious...

Mmmmmm choriiiiizooooooo.... =P~
My favorite breakfast since I was little was chorizo & egg burritos. Yummmmmm
DH and DD found red and green light bulbs at the store and now we have 3 red outside lights and 2 green ones. Oh and we decorated for Christmas today inside the house since DH was home. I've decided we need more Christmas decorations and it's a good thing we aren't hosting thanksgiving. Haha
My daughter gets Charlie horses at night when she's sleeping. It makes me sad
I get them all the time and my doc suggested bananas. Apparently potassium deficiency causes them? Or can cause them? Or something. Anyway, it helps! That and staying hydrated.

She eats at least 2 or 3 bananas a day! She loves them!! But I could get her to drink more water.. She really likes milk it's hard to get her to drink anything else

Does she get much salt? I know when I run long distances I take salt to help me stay hydrated and it helps with leg cramps too. That's all the advice I have except to say talk to your ped. There must be something they can do to make her more comfortable. I know Charlie horses can be part of growing pains, but she's a little young for that, especially that frequently. I'm sorry your little one is going through that! I know how badly those suckers hurt! When I get them in the night I wake DH fast, and he knows to move to rub it out quickly or it can feel sore and bruised for days. Hoping they ease up for her soon.

DH: "so you said you wanted chicken?"
Me: "yes, chicken in some form of fried-ness. nugget, bone in or out, etc."
(DH leaves room)
drawers opening in bedroom
dh grabs coat
DH: "this is happening right now."
Me: "huh?"
DH: "you wanted chicken, i'm going to get you chicken."
(DH walks out the door)
For the record, if he gets in a terrible accident on the way to get me chicken i will never forgive myself.

Also I think I convinced SO to bring vanilla ice cream home for us to eat with the apple crisp I made. C'mon baby! Don't fail me now!
