Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • My daughter gets Charlie horses at night when she's sleeping. It makes me sad :(

I get them all the time and my doc suggested bananas. Apparently potassium deficiency causes them? Or can cause them? Or something. Anyway, it helps! That and staying hydrated.
She eats at least 2 or 3 bananas a day! She loves them!! But I could get her to drink more water.. She really likes milk it's hard to get her to drink anything else
Does she get much salt? I know when I run long distances I take salt to help me stay hydrated and it helps with leg cramps too. That's all the advice I have except to say talk to your ped. There must be something they can do to make her more comfortable. I know Charlie horses can be part of growing pains, but she's a little young for that, especially that frequently. I'm sorry your little one is going through that! I know how badly those suckers hurt! When I get them in the night I wake DH fast, and he knows to move to rub it out quickly or it can feel sore and bruised for days. Hoping they ease up for her soon.
I'm not sure on her salt intake. I mean I put salt and pepper on a lot of stuff I cook but I'm not sure how much she needs. We have her flu shot coming up in 2 weeks so I'll be asking her doc then. I have to sit and rub hers out too. She always freaks about and thinks she won't be able to walk again. It's so sad but so cute at the same time.
    Thanks for the advice!

  • Oh goodness. I can tell I'm having trouble sleeping when it's late PST and most if the threads say I'm the last poster. Gonna try and zzzzzzz now. I-)

How can you sleep after being flagged by "new last name" gal? Ha glad to see you're not losing any sleep over that, I couldn't believe someone would do a poll on that I'm laughing out loud.

Haha love it! DH woke up to me laughing and asked what was going on and all i could do was laugh.

I was going to say some snarky comment to at least change "Heart" to "Hart" then she can be like Gracie hart off of miss congeniality, another made up name ;)

ETA- but then again maybe that wouldn't make it "a hole new name" ha haha ha ha
  • Next week, our orchestra is playing with a heavy metal band. I never even CONSIDERED it to be a problem with baby. But then people started asking me about it. Am I worried? Do I think the baby will be ok? I mean, I totally think so, but, should I not think so?
I will be wearing earplugs, but, I imagine the sound is somewhat muffled in there?? I randomly started to worry...LOL

  • Ok, I'm not making a whole post on this because I can't tell if I'm being crazy psycho FTM or not.

We had videographers at our wedding and they did the most amazing, fabulous, incredible wedding video ever.  Do you think it's weird to maybe contact them about being at the birth and creating a video?

I don't have the talent to do this, and I do NOT want them in there for the traumatizing stuff...  But, I watched that video of the premie's first year and thought how great it would be to have that all on video, and be able to capture everyone we love waiting and being there for the first time.  Crazy or no?

I had KFC for dinner with their delicious biscuits, mashed potatoes and mac n cheese! It was beyond fantabulous!

Damnit! I always forget mac and cheese is an option! Screw the green beans next time!
Why are green beans ever and option!!!?!

Cuz I hate coleslaw. And cuz ordering something "healthy" with fried chicken makes me feel better about myself. Sometimes it's the little things. ;)

I love green beans but I just can't do it at KFC lol if I go unhealthy I do it all the way... Maybe drink water with dinner. God it's so obvious I'm pregnant! Lol

I'm kinda mad cuz I took a shower and THEN had fantastic sex last night. Now I feel like my lady bits need a proper wash (the wet wash rag just didnt seem to cut it) which means another effing shower.

    Moral: screw first, shower second.

That's the motto I live by! If things are going in "that direction", it a quick swipe with a wet wipe then I'm good to go. ;) Something about wet curly hair + sex have never been a good combo for me, so I always shower afterward. Pretty sure the entire beginning of our relationship it looked like I had stuck my finger in a light socket because I would ALWAYS shower before DH (then BF) would come over lol!

@karissamonzo we can be high risk together. I guess I won't waste my time heading over to that board.

What's your story lady!?!? Sorry that's not excitement that you are high risk!

I'm having identical twin girls so started seeing the MFM two weeks ago. Everything was going great and I thought today was goin to be a "see you in two weeks" appointment. I had an ultrasound today and baby a is looking good but the fluid for baby b is low. Now I get ultrasounds twice a week. They are thinking I have twin to twin transfusion going on.

This early?  Oh girl that sucks I am sorry.  Does that mean guaranteed bedrest from early on?  I have a family friend who had triplets, and the identical twins had twin to twin transfusion and she ended up getting some sort of surgery that fixed something in the cord and it stopped (I don't know if she was a special case but it was the first I heard of surgery for that issue).  But the point of the story is that she has 3 perfect little triplet boys that are 2 years old.  They all turned out fine.
Surprisingly no bed rest. Dr said there is nothing I can do to help or hurt this. On Monday I have to go to the office at the hospital because I might have to have an amino. The dr did tell me about the surgery and if I needed it there are only a few hospitals in the country that does it. This sucks but the good thing is they caught it early and there are different things for them to help stop it.
What is twin to twin transfusion, and how is it harmful to the babies? I realize this may not be a simple explanation, but I'm genuinely curious...

The girls are sharing a placenta so it's looking like one of the girls is getting more nutrients than the other and has more fluid and room to move in her sac. It can be deadly but there are things they can do to help the baby that is not getting enough. On Monday I'm going in and if there is not more fluid in baby b sac they are going to do an amnio and remove some fluid from baby a and they hope that will allow more room for baby b. I'm staying off of dr google so I only know what my dr told me yesterday.

  • Do you, or have you ever made a big purchase without looking at, or touching the product?  I found a crib but it's not sold in stores...I'm scared I'm not going to like the finish and the hassle of taking it back is keeping me from hitting purchase.

Honestly, I have to say that I've never had anything come up in the mod queue that's been flagged by you. I don't know why I didn't think of that before.

Can you remember a poster that you think you've flag, I can always check it out.
