  • @begging4abump I mentioned before somewheres on here how I taught myself two of the Japanese alphabets once, for fun, (while DH was away). I made flashcards and everything. Not the language---the alphabets... We have so many good birds where we live! Everyone the other night was talking about the Roseate Spoonbills that we have in our area--I haven't seen one yet, but ppl have been spotting them around my town! There's a really pretty lake where we live where I want to go out to again soon so maybe see one. Finally, there are birds in my yard that have been, like, having a squawking party for hours (literally hours--I noticed it earlier & just awoke from a three hour nap [!!!!!!] and they're still at it.) One has a really long tail and I will try to figure it out/get DH to figure it out (for you & for me.) I don't think birdwatching is boring, I think it's unique.

  • @begging4abump That's awesome you lured a mockingbird into your feeder and the significance of it! I’m not a birdwatcher or know much but when I was younger we raised hawks!

  • @begging4abump update: DH confirms the pretty gray/white bird I was talking about w/ the long tail and squawking contest is... a mockingbird! Yay!
  • @begging4abump glad you found your book too! The whole situation was nuts. I changed library’s because it turned me off from wanting to go there anymore.

@kagesstarshroom that is quite a task to take on! Mh and I briefly learned some Japanese when we went to Japan, and pretty much everyone there speaks English, so I felt pretty sheepish to only have a few phrases. I made no attempts to learn anything written though. Also, lol about the mockingbird. Just another good sign, right? (ETA:https://www.shamanicjourney.com/mockingbird-power-animal-symbol-of-overcoming-fear. Just stumbled on this, and if a mockingbird is my spiritual animal, turns out Imma b ok. Lol.) I looked up the spoonbill & that looks really neat! I hope you get an opportunity to spot one soon.

@brookert615 I’d never heard of people raising hawks. Cool! They scare me a bit, but a young one sounds adorable.

@kbrown2385 I don’t blame you! That’s such a shame! I hope they at least apologized.
  • @kagesstarshroom YES! I totally agree. These Peggy’s are off their stinkin’ rockers.

  • @mercury94 I had seriously considered writing the spiel of "most couples take up to 12 months". Like, that's the most honest answer any of us can provide lol

I'm also curious what the ratio is here of TFAS to all. Also the ratio for 12+ months and still nothing to all 😢 I feel like there's unfortunately so many of us past 12 months!

  • I lost *another* diamond stud. My husband got me a new pair for Christmas since I lost one around October. I found it bent into the carpet under a chair in February. This is my THIRD pair. (One was from an ex like 9 years ago.) I just don’t know how it happens! I check multiple times a day to be sure they aren’t loose since I lost the first one. Only the first pair was screwbacks, but that didn’t seem to make a difference. :(

@NYTino24 that sucks!  I'm horrible with losing earrings for some reason so I can totally relate.  I've never checked but I wonder if there's a product out there that can help keep the backs on tighter or something.

@emeraldduchess It just seemed so wrong it was right lol. I did eat them dry! They are “sour” but in a confusing way. Like a super tart fruity pebbles!

  • @mercury94 neat! I guess you must live near a pretty pond or something?Herons make me happy, but it might be mostly for the pretty scenery they’re in.

@NYTino24 I hope you find it!! I feel like I remember you mentioning when you got this pair. A friend of mine had a loose engagement ring fly off her finger while teaching one day. She ended up finding it stuck between a poster and the wall when she was packing up for the summer. Fx your stud shows up soon!

@brookert615 lol at that cereal. If you like it, you might want to stock up because I can’t see that as a flavor that stands the test of time. 😂 my mom LOVED blueberry special k and is heartbroken that it got discontinued. Ooooh maybe we could do a gtky about a flavor or brand of something that you loved that got discontinued!!!
  • @begging4abump Yes! I just got them in December. I’m so upset!! I obsessively check to make sure they aren’t loose and I still lost it. It’s always my left ear!!!
