Then they turn into asshole toddlers that steal your food! Currently stealing my jalapeño cheddar bagel with chive and onion cream cheese. No bae it's cool I'm not hungry or anything! #anythingtostopatantrum
@lovelylauren86@AnnaS930 oh my! Those are absolutely gorgeous! Those pictures made me tear up at the thought that we'll have one of those in 6 months!!
Hahaha, yes @lovelylauren86- I could certainly find lots of those pictures as well! Right now Emmett gets focused on items - a certain stuffed animal, a spoon, a toothbrush... and don't even consider taking it away from him or the world. ends. This is no big deal at home - at daycare, or at the store it's another story. He likes playing with the conveyer belt dividers at the grocery story (must be COVERED in germs) but I let him because he's so happy when he has it and is usually pretty tired after grocery shopping. Then I say to the cashier "I'm going to take this from him, hand it to you, and book it out of here in case he screams. Thank you and have a great day!" ... and then we run.
The little puffy faces, and sunken little chins and button noses. There's nothing more beautiful/magical than a newborn... although watching them grow a personality and become little people is pretty fantastic too. Ladies - we're all in for the adventures of a lifetime, so excited to do it together.
Tears.. what are you doing in my eyes?! Get out of here.
I got our first box of diapers this week! Weird! We decided to buy one box per month so we can spread out the expenses a bit more. I'm a FTM and I couldn't help opening the box and seeing those tiny #1 diapers. I got so excited thinking baby will actually pee and poo in these things! Becoming a mom is weird.
Too funny, my mom just brought us a case of pampers that she bought at Sams club yesterday. First thing I did was take one of those things out of the box. Can't believe there's going to be a tiny little butt in those things in a few months
You will get over the excitement of diapers quickly. From the first blow out poop that defies gravity to the toddler who screams NO and runs away when you tell her it's time to change her diaper. It gets old quick. (Bitter because I have an almost three year old who still isn't potty trained.)
I'm so in love with the newborn stage! It's hard (all stages are hard in their own ways), but it's also magical (all stages are magical in their own ways). But that newborn stage is so fleeting...it gets its own special amazing designation in my book. Cannot wait.
The newborn stage still sounds so scary to this ftm. They're just so fragile. But I'm sure I'll figure it all out when the time comes. Right??!? Maybe?
I want to show off my bebe, too! Can't believe I get to do it all over again in 6 months, and this time I get to watch DD become a big sister. I'm a happy, happy momma.
@rawarr You will figure it out. It sounds cliche, but it's different when it's your own. Also, they are much more resilient than they seem. Think of it this way, they squeeze out of your vagina. Something too extremely fragile couldn't do that.
The thought of having a teensy newborn is both exciting and a bit terrifying to me. I haven't had a newborn in 6 years. Starting over is a daunting thought now that my daughter does have some independence. I do get all sorts of warm fuzzies thinking about a squishy new baby, though.

Dude DH is on his period I snapped at him like half an hour ago, I apologized immediately after #hormones. He just went off on me about how bitchy I've been lately. It's all I can do to not laugh in his face right now! He's acting like a total drama queen. I'm like well im trying and I already said I was sorry sooooo, you go on and pout like a little baby.

I absolutely agree! They are so much stronger than they look! And it is different when they are your own. You just know them in a way you don't know other babies. I've been surprised at how now, even after having my own, it's still weird/a little scary to hold someone else's newborn, but I was immediately comfortable holding my own. You'll be great! (But also, ask questions and ask for help if you need it! I wish I had taken more advantage of the expertise of the nurses while I was in the hospital with LO)
Too many of y'all to tag but oh my gosh all your tiny babies are making me so verklempt!!! So precious and tiny. I still cannot wrap my brain around the fact that God willing in about six months we'll have a little one to dress and tuck in a car seat and take home!
I started to feel sneezy and congested last night, put on a Breathe Right strip and went to bed. This morning I feel no better (wah) and have a full day planned! Brunch with friends to announce our pregnancy and dinner with my FIL and his wife to share the news as well!
How I wish I could take a DayQuil right now!
On on the positive side, it looks like a beautiful day! Happy Saturday ladies!
^yes. I had the honor of being there when my nephew was born. Watching that poor little guy's head going in and out of the birth canal, I felt equally sorry for him and my sister. Then when he was finally born he flew out of there like a rubber chicken. I remember watching people be so nervous and careful (naturally) as they held him, but I kept thinking that kid has been through the ringer!
DD woke up around 1am this morning with a fever of 102.5, runny nose, and coughing. She's never had more than a low grade fever, so I'm not sure when to worry that she's sick enough that she should be seen by the pediatrician. I'm waiting on them to call me back. Right now, Tylenol has brought her fever down, but she's clearly not herself. I know it's probably not a big deal, but I feel so bad seeing her look and feel so miserable.
The worst, @camichael84 ! It's so hard when little ones are sick. I'm glad the Tylenol brought her fever down and I hope you get a call back soon. In the meantime, maybe some good cuddles will help both of you? I always find the cuddles to be the one silver lining of a kiddo who is under the weather.
Sorry @camichael84! Last week DS had a 105 fever and I freaked the hell out. We took him to the doc, but they said it was viral and as long as Tylenol was bringing it down, then there's no need to worry as toddlers are notorious for running fevers like this . He recommended rotating doses of Motrin and Tylenol. Also, he did mention if it went on for a few more days, then bring him back. Luckily he was feeling better within 48 hrs. Good luck and try to enjoy the snuggles (that was the silver lining as he never likes to cuddle!)
Thanks, @Sporty1216 and @RedMar . The pediatrician decided to see her today to rule out the flu. She has an ear infection and started Amoxicillin. I'm still giving her Tylenol today and will use Motrin tonight since it works for a longer time. I got lots of snuggles last night and this morning, but she's perked up as of the afternoon. Glad she seems more back to herself.
Hi ladies! I haven't been around at all this week because working nights (and over 80 hours!!) has been killing me but I'm half way done this stretch. Just wanted to say hi. Also, love the cute newborn pics!

We don't do anything for time changes. He went to bed at 730 and woke around 730 (feels like 630... his normal time) and will try to keep close to our normal schedule today
@PSUBecky23 the little had a short nap, and regular bedtime, and the big kids didn't have a rest. We played outside a lot and minimized tv. They're usually up at 6:45-7:00, but I looked at my phone this am and it said 8, I thought I'd better get up with them. Totally forgot about the time change and it was only REALLY 7. Shenanigans.

@PSUBecky23 --we kept everything the same but for some reason he was up at 5:30 the new time (so 4:30 the old). I thought he would "sleep in" but no. It's gonna be a loooong day.
One of my fillings just fell out of my tooth. It's the last one I had done, and I never felt like it was properly done. Now I'm annoyed because I have to go get it fixed.
