Did I report that I bought and watched Inside Out this weekend? My little guy loved all the bright colors (He was pointing at the screen and laughing almost constantly). While I sat behind him.. and cried. I mean.. nearly needed to pause because I was crying. That's a good movie. I can't wait to watch it again.
@AnnaS930 I tried to warn you!! I could go without watching it again also. Eta: oh nvm ^ I read that wrong.. We watch it a lot but lately I don't like to be hormonal and sad!
The belly zone is a no go outside of DH, DS and DD. My MIL tried to touch my belly last time and I swear I about took her hand off. It doesn't help that she and I don't see eye to eye....
And while I didn't start wearing nursing bras this weekend, I did find some wire-less bras that actually give me a good shape and are supportive. This is a feat that has never been accomplished before seeing as I am well-endowed. I am sooooo comfortable now!!
@AnnaS930 I saw it this summer with my friend and only teared up maybe twice. Fast forward to about a month ago. My daughter watched it at school and couldn't stop talking about it. We rented it and I was a mess! My husband kept looking over at me and saying, "Are you crying again?"
I bought it for her Easter basket and even though I like it, I'm rethinking my decision because it's just too much for me right now. Damn Disney movies.
The little things kept piling up to get to me.. all of the discarded memories of her as a baby really broke my heart. And of course there's a few other sad moments that I won't mention for spoilers. It was just great. I'm very sentimental, not sure if it's while pregnant or just having a 1 year old that's made me extra mushy.

I cried several times watching that, and I watched it before becoming pregnant. I can't imagine what it would've been like watching for the first time with these hormones. We rented The Good Dinosaur the other week and I bawled ... And I didn't even think the movie was that good!

I still haven't seen Inside Out. We talk about renting it, but haven't done it yet. From what I'm hearing, I'm sure I'll cry. DD and I saw UP last week and I ugly cried the entire time the Ellie/Carl montage was happening. And then half way through. And then at the end. I don't know why I decided to have us watch it because it's always been the saddest Disney movie to me (which is saying a lot since they are all sad at some point).
@camichael84- I looooove Up! Also always cry at it. With the Inside Out themed party this coming weekend for my niece/nephew I decided to go ahead and buy it. It was a good purchase, we'll watch it time and time again
@izzetoot- did you/we know it was boy #2 for you?! I'm having the hardest time keeping track of who knows what they're having and who doesn't.. either way CONGRATS! (Didn't want to post in the sex announcement thread and muck it up/confuse people into thinking I'm announcing). Also - had to comment because I love The Postal Service. Your hubby/partner is the coolest
On the same note..anyone seen The Good Dinosaur? People said it was super sad so it made me not want to watch it.. But I thought it was fine! Ended happy. A couple sad little parts but I didn't cry.
@TNgoldengirl I've seen the first 30-40 minutes of The Good Dinosaur probably about a dozen times but never the end! It is currently DD's go-to movie...she asks for it every time we put on a movie. And always insists we start at the beginning. Then, it's bedtime or dinnertime or she loses interest and it gets turned off. So I've never made it past the part with the T-Rexes. My BIL watched it through until the end one night after we left the room to put DD to bed so I got a brief play by play from him but that's it, haha!
This is my random for the day - I thought about posting it in MBF but it's not really rant-worthy...mostly just wtf and (shakes head over stupid things guys say) worthy.
Over the weekend, we were all getting ready to see a bunch of family that I haven't seen since becoming pregnant. I'm visibly showing and rotating my wardrobe and am therefore self-conscious about how I and everything I wear looks. I planned on wearing my only pair of pre-pregnancy jeans that still fit (with an elastic hairband) but wondered if it looked funny since they sort of obscured the roundness of my bump and thought maybe that made me look more "plump" than pregnant. These are jeans I wear at least twice a week but I'm usually changed into pajamas by the time DH gets home late in the evenings. So I turned to him and say, "Have you seen me wear these lately? I'm wondering if they..." He cut me off and says, "...look tight around your thighs?" Ummmm, no. But thanks. Jerk.
And, for the record, they're not tight on my thighs at all - no tighter than what a skinny-jean is supposed to be, anyway.
@JennM205- I'm sorry but that's giving me a good laugh. When will they learn not to jump in and guess how the question is going to end?! Oh my goodness...
Go away morning sickness! I would like to hold down some calories today. I am down 7 lbs from my first appointment a month ago and I was already underweight. #whenwillitend
@lovelylauren86 I had the same issue with ds. I'm 4'11" and when I got pregnant was 115 lbs, and because of ms was down to 95 lbs by 15 weeks. Luckily my aversions and ms went away then and ds came out great. 22" and 7lbs 11ozs, so very healthy. I hope you feel better soon though. I know how much loosing everything you eat sucks.
I loved inside out, and watched it the other day. Dh wondered what was wrong with me because I cried so much lol.
This weekend was not fun for me and the mirror. I'm showing now but I feel like I'm still not at the point of everyone noticing I'm pregnant and some people thinking I just put on weight. I've also been having terrible pelvic pain and my feet are hurting more than before when I walk. I've been adamant about wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes (flowy blouses, jeans with hairbands and the same shoes) but I'm feeling more and more uncomfortable and my shoes are hurting my feet! So DH and I talked about it and I'm giving in to the SAHM uniform and going to get some yoga pants and walking shoes until I'm big enough for maternity clothes. I don't want to buy a whole bunch of maternity clothes that fit me now and not when I'm bigger.
I hate the in between blump stage. My regular clothes are tight but my maternity clothes are too big. The hair tie works with jeans but not with work pants. I need dress weather to get here now.
Inside out is on Netflix here, is it not on the US Netflix?? We've watched it probably 25 times. I haven't watched Up with my kids, but my daughter caught on to the miscarriage in the beginning and started crying. I didn't like the good dinosaur movie... Just wasn't my jam.

He said that I haven't been that affectionate with him lately and he says he really needs that. I don't see how that could make him want an abortion. He apologized because I called my MIL and told her.
I was at an overnight bridal party this past Saturday, and my hotel roomie just texted to say she tested positive for the flu this morning... I felt a bit faint today and now a bit queasy, but I can't tell if it's all in my head! I just got over my first trimester ickiness, so here's hoping I dodged the virus!
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom I feel you. My bump is there, but still not big enough for maternity clothes. I just look like I have a gut. I can't even do the hair tie thing because my thighs have already expanded to where I need a size up in pants. I finally gave in and bought new maternity jeans from stitch fix and they are amazing.
@apowers80 it sounds like you guys have some things to talk about. Maybe on your own, maybe with a counselor. Either way, for the sake of your future child and for your relationship, please have an adult conversation about this. Also, please follow the advice of @TheTamedShrew and add a trigger warning when you bring up this topic in posts. If you go back and read her last post to you, she explains why this is necessary, so I have no need to explain again. Best of luck.

No we were completly in the dark about it until this weekend! I was convinced it was a girl bc this pregnancy is 100% different from my first boy. And I had all the "girl signs" high heart rate, craving sweets, crappy skin, carrying high, etc. But I am thrilled, especially bc I wanted my son to have a little brother
And we got that shirt for my DH at their concert last year! It was my birthday present to DH. Such an AMAZING performance!!
TMI warning... It's nearly 1am, I'm up with a horrible upset stomach... bumping from the toilet because every time I lay back down I immediately have to go again. Ugh. And I don't want to bother my husband who has to wake at 4 for work. This. Is. Miserable.
Sorry you aren't feeling well, @AnnaS930 ! 12:50 here and I'm awake because I am mad that DH put a huge dead spider in a jar on the kitchen counter. He wants to take a picture and see if anyone can identify it. I don't want it on my counter! Silly, but I'm seriously so mad that I'll have to see it in the morning that I can't sleep. Still. Better than being sick. Hope you feel better--or can at least lie down!--soon.
Ugh @faeriem don't know what happened to us but what a crappy night (see what I did there?) I was able to get some sleep after that. Belly is still making some scary noises this morning and I am staaaaaarving but afraid to eat. My husband said he felt fine, so hoping it's not food poisoning 2.0
@AnnaS930 I'm sorry you had such a bad night!! It sounds like things are a tiny bit better this morning, hopefully you can keep some food down.. maybe try a smoothie? Feel better!
Thanks! I'm up and seem to be feeling fine. My belly felt a little weird before dinner last night but I didn't realize what it would turn into. Also - I do have IBS and a lot of it could have been psyching myself out mentally... and my lactose intolerance kicked back up last time I was pregnant, I should probably get some Lactaid pills/cut back on dairy.
So sorry to those ladies who had a rough night. Hope your day is better.
I came here to whine about my NT scan yesterday. The scan itself was great. Baby looks good. But I'm supposed to go on baby aspirin because the blow flow showed the "potential" to develop pre-e. I have literally zero other risk factors. Just doesn't sit right with me.
DD woke up last night about an hour after she went down for the night. She was just lying there so we didn't go get her, but she was up almost an hour and a half. I spent the whole time staring at the monitor. Not the best way to spend my bit of me time before bed.
@camichael84- Emmett took almost an hour to fall asleep, it usually takes a few minutes, rarely 15. The monitor kept clicking on from him crawling around - he has a Little Einsteins aquarium at the foot of his crib.. he was just sitting there pushing the button then watching it light up/move like a little show. It was cracking me up, but I kept saying to myself (go to sleep kid! I have to wake you at 6:30 for daycare!!) Maybe he finally felt something from the time change?
Since we are supposed to sleep on our sides, is anyone experiencing their hip going numb??
I don't think it's that important to sleep on your side now. The reason for sleeping on your side is because when laying on your back the weight of the baby can restrict your blood flow. Including the blood flow to the baby.
I had trouble staying on my side with previous pregnancies. I'd always wake up on my back, so I had to put pillows behind my back to lean on.
@PSUBecky23 - That's a really tough call. I'm not at all educated on NT scans or what that potential factors out to be in real life. I will say for women at high risk of pre-eclampsia (diabetic, history of it, multiples birth), a baby aspirin has shown a great decrease in cases of pre-eclampsia, but it's not without risk. Is there someone you can get a second opinion from?
@AmMcc12 haven't experienced the numb hip yet but it will only get much much worse. Then you have to decide is it worth attempting to flip over or sit with a numb side.

Fast forward to 6:45 this morning. Someone did not want to wake up. Took a few minutes of me rubbing his back and whispering to him to wake up (I hate startling him awake). Then I finally said at a normal volume "Emmett.. you aren't fake sleeping are you?" His little corners of his mouth made a smile and he turned away with a chuckle. What a little sneak!!!
