@Jen_Shoes how stressful. Maybe he should look into a winter hobby/small job. My father use to be unable to work in the winters and got crabby. But once he got a hobby/job he was in a much better mood. Winter is just cruel with everyone's emotions. @Yiggle09 I'm sorry about your dog! I'm sure you'll find a new buddy for the other dog in time.
@nda_roxybabe I agree with @WombThereItIs regarding wanting a little overhang for the mat. IKEA does have some funny sizing but I can't imagine they would sell a frame for a 7 3/4 by 9 3/4 picture... it's probably 8x10.

Something must be in the air it sounds like we're all having a tough time but I know it made me feel better to vent so I'm glad you're all here! @BabyMC517 So tough! I love your DHs comment and sense of humor about the situation that's totally something mine would say. @jen_shoes Happy 30th!!!! For some reason i thought you were much younger than me but mine is coming up Feb 9th and I would be so disappointed if I didn't have the celebration I was hoping for (even if it was just a difference in restaurants) so don't feel guilty at all and please take the others advice if you can do something for yourself to make it a little more special since you deserve it! @LilMissCrafty Just wanted to say good job for working up the nerve to get through the convo even after getting emotional - that lobby compromise comment would drive me nuts but like the others said maybe things will be different when the baby is here so easier said than done but try to to stress too much over the unknown. @Yiggle09 that's so sad! It sounds like you're being thoughtful in your approach to finding a new friend for your dog so you're doing what's best for your family even if it's tough and not paying off just yet.
And since I did start my own NBR MIL rant thread I dont have anything to add here except I spent two hours at the laundromat yesterday laundering our bedding and woke up this morning to DD asking for water and drank like a gallon and went back to sleep for an hour then woke up again sat up and vomited on everryyyyyythiiiiing. So I just stripped everything down and not exactly sure what to do since I'm not gonna drag my sick kid out to the laundromat and the one time I shoved a comforter into our onsite machine I had three women beating down our door to tell me the machine was smoking and needed repaired .
Thank you everyone for the support & well wishes today. I'm feeling super foul so it is nice to have the support here. I'm pretty sure any conversations I have with my husband any time soon will fall on deaf ears, so I'll wait until his spirits lift a little bit to talk to him. I feel like we, as women, often have to shoulder more of the burden in relationships, at least I have my daughter to look forward to in a few months.
@Yiggle09 I'm so sorry about your dog!! I love my fur baby so much, I'm not sure how I'd be functioning.
Thank you everyone! Yeah we went to visit some pups last thursday and my husband and I were breaking down in tears. He kept saying they were going to ask us what we are looking for and he was going to answer max but we can't find him hes gone. I honestly just can't think about it otherwise I'm a mess.
@erinh2005 it might not be so bad to take your DD to the laundromat. I had to take DD when our washer broke and I put her in one of the carts and pushed her around the place while we waited. She loved it!
@Jen_Shoes Does he have any work at all during the winter? If not, do you think he'd be interested in finding supplemental winter work? Staying busy might help him feel more productive and happy, even if it's not his own business. Or, maybe he could start a plowing business.
DH might have a great advancement opportunity for work but it would require us to move to another state and we aren't sure how we feel about it yet. It's definitely a lot to think about.
Busy morning, ladies!! I'll try to hit everyone...
@Jen_Shoes , HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I'm sorry that the celebration wasn't quite what you were hoping for and that your husband is in a bit of a slump. You should definitely do something nice for yourself today--even just picking up a cake or delicious dessert.I agree with PP that it seems like it will be a good idea to do some long term budgeting in hopes of avoiding the same levels of stress next year. Also agreed with PP that a winter job (even part time) might help both financially and emotionally. Adding a baby to the mix really messes with the dynamic of a relationship (not in a BAD way, it just makes things a little more...complicated?), so coming up with a gameplan earlier is a good idea.
@Yiggle09 , I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Losing a pet is never easy.
@BabyMC517 , I'm actually at a total loss for words. At least your husband has a good sense of humor about the whole thing!
@BeachMommy2B , that sounds really annoying. Hopefully you guys can get it figured out and not have the mortgage increase!
@nda_roxybabe , I'd say that looks like the right size frame for an 8x10 as long as the print doesn't go RIGHT up to the edge.
I'm currently thinking about my poor DH who made a last minute decision to take my 2.5 year old DS to Colorado (from Boston) ALONE over Presidents Day. I opted out of the trip because I'm saving my vacation for leave (and I hate traveling while pregnant, even more so with a child), but now I'm feeling a little guilty for sending them alone. And I'm already anticipating that I am going to miss DS like crazy. I need to plan a full weekend of fun activities to distract myself...
@starphish18 He does plow. This winter was a series of unfortunate events. He had a few properties he maintained from his BIL, but his BIL got dropped, which meant he got dropped. Then he got strung along by a business about doing this large commercial lot which he put in a lot of time and effort into vetting, and then at the last minute they "found someone else". So part of the problem was that we were planning on him making an extra $50,000 from that one lot that didn't happen. Hence the financial straits. Its been like a perfect storm for crap lately for us.
Again thank you all for the birthday wishes!
@Yiggle09 What you just posted about looking for your max just made me tear up. I can't imagine how tough this is for you
@Kipperoo you shouldn't feel guilty. Think about all the stuff you can get done with the house all to yourself! You should also go get yourself a mani-pedi! I'm sure your DH will be fine!
Ok so stupid question. If your monitoring how much your drinking do you include things like coffee, tea, smoothies, to the total count? I mean it's all about the liquids right? Ha. I have such a hard time drinking straight water.
@bacorrea I guess technically you can count all liquids towards your total count, but I personally wouldn't count coffee or tea as those tend to dehydrate you, so that wouldn't really count towards staying hydrated right? That's just my thinking!

@bacorrea i count water and I use to count the water I used in my protein shakes and BCAAs (i haven't been feeling the shakes lately so i just havent been drinking them) but I don't count anything else.... coffee, tea, etc.
@bacorrea Unfortunately, you shouldn't reallllllly. Definitely don't count coffee/tea/soda.
I used to hate water. Like, if you asked the last time I had a glass of water I could easily say "2 weeks ago" (at least). I just never drank it, never got very thirsty, whatever. I finally learned to tolerate water and now drink at least 70 ounces a day. During pregnancy I try really hard to get 100oz. It has to be cold and using a straw definitely helps. Sometimes I'll add fruit (cherries, blueberries, raspberries...) and/or herbs (basil, thyme, lavender) to make it a little more exciting. I have a 32 oz pretty bottle for work and I tell myself I must drink a whole one by lunch and another whole one by the time I leave for the day. I can't have a soda or lemonade or anything unless I do. Then I have a 32oz Yeti at home I aim to finish by bedtime.
@Yiggle09, I'm so sorry about your dog. I hope you're hanging in there okay. @nda_roxybabe, I do the exact same thing with a 32 oz bottle. 1 before lunch and 1 before I go home (then more water in the evening). Sometimes I even get 3 in lately because I'm just really thirsty! I'm not as good about it on the weekends, though.
The bigger I get, the harder it is to get things done. I wanted to wash the dog's beds, give her a bath, dust, and sweep when I got home today. I managed to do the beds and the bath, but when I stood up from bathing her, I had horrible RLP so I decided to skip the other chores and take it easy. I'm 23 weeks now, so I can only imagine how the next 17 weeks are gonna go!

Our amazon welcome box came today!! But still no diaper that we ordered to get it lol also remembered to get the target gift bag yesterday. They didn't take our names or anything so the sneaky side of me is wondering if we went to the target closer to us if we could get another
@Jen_Shoes First off Happy Birthday!!!!! Second my dad works seasonal and so my parents always pay their bills (cell phone, tv, electric etc) a few months in advance so that in the winter when my mom is the only one working they don't have to worry about those types of things. It doesn't help now but maybe in the future? My dad also recently started driving people from the council on aging to their doctors appointments as a volunteer and he loves it. He was grumpy in the winter because he didn't have anything to do. Now he drops one lady off, goes to the gym for a couple hours and then takes her home. He drives a few people a week and some go 2-3 times and he gets paid for gas mileage so now he has a purpose and is happier and more productive. Like others have said. Find DH a part time job just for now? Good luck!
@Yiggle09 I am so sorry about your loss! My fur babies are my life. It's so hard when they pass and you are used to the routine. I also have two so when one goes before the other it will be very difficult on the other one. I hope you find a new family member soon that fits and will eventually be a new companion for your current pup.
Omg I just saw another piece of mail and it was from applying for pregnancy Medicaid per our dr office...it was approved!! That's going to help so much with hospital bills!!

@mamatowildones yep! You set up your registry, complete all sections (you don't have to add everything in each section just say it's complete), and purchase something for at least $10 off the registry and you'll be ready to order it!
@emilyalso yeah we just created it online and went in and said we created it there and we got the gift bag! Not as much stuff as amazon, but still good! Bottle, pacifier, samples, diaper, and a bunch of coupons.

@Yiggle09: I'm so sorry about your dog. My sister lost hers in Nov and is still heartbroken. Allow yourself the space to grieve, and the next one will come into your lives exactly when he's meant to.
@jayandaplus: Guilt over how you spend your time is normal and totally okay to feel. I have days like that, too, feeling like nothing "real" gets accomplished. You aren't alone! Tomorrow's a new day, as cheesy as it sounds, but it's true.
Is anyone else feeling really uncomfortably stretched lately? My abdomen feels like it couldn't possible expand another bit. I know it will, but I've just been so sore for a few days.
@Jen_Shoes - happy birthday! I hope today is a little bettter. It sounds like things have been a little tough, and 30 is hard enough without adding issues!
@Yiggle09 - I'm so sorry! It's so hard to lose a pet, and it's even harder to find the right pal to keep your remaining pet company.
@Kipperoo- Mom guilt is real, isn't it?!?! You shouldn't feel bad though. Try to think about it as one less chance for you to relax on your own before your family expands! If you are anything like me, a day to rest would probably make you feel amazing!
@Yiggle09 so sorry to hear about your pup! @SKZW is right, that new dog will come exactly when he should!
@kns1988 it is so hard to get stuff done! I'm glad you said something because I've just been thinking that I'm getting really lazy lately. Fingers crossed we can ever tackle a full to-do list!!
@BabyMC517 glad you got approved! Do Americans have to pay out of pocket for some costs for having a baby?
@starphish18 definitely feeling like this as well, really sore. Hitting potholes in the car is awful and I've started putting a bit of the duvet under my belly at night otherwise the soreness wakes me up.
I'm a ftm and for a few nights now this baby's movements have woken me up. I'm 25 weeks and I thought that would be a third trimester thing. I'm 5'11" and SO is 6'5" so I am unscientifically imagining that this girl has long legs already and that's why she feels so strong!
