@kayemjay2 Hahah, seriously. I have 7 horizontal striped maternity shirts. I do like the stripes, but it's seriously difficult to find a non-stripe casual shirt.
@Kipperoo thanks so much for your response. I could be over reacting, I always get weird skin rashes. But I will know what to ask. Thanks! I will let you know what the doctor says tomorrow.
@starphish18 OH MY! Yes. I'm pretty sure this is exactly how I look in bed. DH just watches me like I'm a zoo animal, so I completely relate to this bear.
@kayemjay2 I literally just said this on monday. I wore this shirt that is white with black stripes and was like... MY GOD I LOOK HUGE... who decided these stripes are the best option for pregnancy
@nda_roxybabe my ruched shirts for the most part did no look ruched by the end with DD... so i think i'd rather have the ruched and be able to wear them the whole time. i'm not sure there's a material stretchy enough at 40 weeks that can also be worn now that wouldn't look silly.... but I do know where your coming from, its like the same damn thing every day!
You two make good points. I was bitter at first because I couldn't wear some ruched stuff because it was too big looking. I should try them on again...

Some of my ruched stuff is still too big looking at this point, but I also think it's because it's stretched out from 40wk belly with my last two. I also think that you have to size down in most maternity clothes. I'm usually a S/M in tops but for maternity I go with XS 99% of the time.

I love the rushing because it allows for a fitted style and once the belly gets big I just feel like a buffalo in the looser styles because without rushing they generally are big in the back too.
@hp_momma i'm actually the opposite. I start pregnancy with my same prepregnancy size but end up having to get a size larger. I'm just to the point where my regular size in maternity is starting to feel too tight so i've switched and bumped up a size larger than I normally would wear.
I will say my boobs have exploaded from a small B to a almost DD.... and i'm only 5'2" with a short torso so my belly goes OUT... they still end up being a little bigger but way more comfy.
@nda_roxybabe I am team hate ruching. I wear it, because nearly all maternity clothes have it. I much prefer my extra stretchy maternity tops for now and my billowy ones for later. I especially dislike it on dresses, but its hard to find a bodycon dress without it. While I love stripes, I agree they could maybe try another pattern once in a while!

I've definitely noticed this. So much stuff I ordered was a HUGE. I think you and I are both similar size, if I remember correctly?
@BeachMommy2B I could see that being the case considering everything has run huge in the boobs for me because I'm tiny on top.

I think pretty similar sizing! My lack of boobs is the main problem with maternity clothes! I think I'm maybe a full B cup NOW that I'm pregnant and I know from previous pregnancies that I won't get much larger even breastfeeding. I'd probably wear a LLR Julia dress everyday while pregnant if it wasn't so cold here. No ruching issues!

I went to the lab after my OB appointment this morning to get my glucose test done. Without even thinking, with only 10 minutes left to wait for the blood draw, I ate a Tums. The tech looked at me like I was a total idiot when I told her. Fingers crossed it doesn't mess up the results too much!
@nda_roxybabe , I don't understand the ruching, either. I actually find it really uncomfortable. (ETA: I find it uncomfortable because frequently the elastic they use for the ruching rubs my skin in a bad way.) But I also tend to wear my normal tops looser anyway and I wear a lot of stretchy knit fabrics, so I've found that I can get away with most of my regular wardrobe shirts almost all the way to the end. I do have a bunch of longer length tanks that I wear underneath my shirts, which helps as they start to get shorter. But I know you are a dress girl and maternity dresses are just tough because if they don't have the ruching, they won't fit through the whole pregnacy. When I was pregnant with my son, I was working in a much more formal environment and wore dresses like 3 days a week...I was so sick of the rotation by the end.
@hp_momma Haha yup, I just now fill out the A's I wear. I love my LLR Julia's, it's about to get too hot here for them though.
@Kipperoo Yup, when I do wear tops they're typically looser, though I do like to show off the bump. Dresses, I'm down to like, 10 right now which is hard when I'm used to being able to go at least a month w/o repeats.
@nda_roxybabe and @hp_momma i would gladly offer a cup size to each of you! Last time mine got even bigger after my milk came in.... LORD HELP ME if that's the cast this time. I think my fiance is enjoying this part way more than I am.
@CherryBananas Oh no!! surly 10 min wont be long enough for the tums to really mess up the reading!
Saw little guy this afternoon everything looks good! Won't see him at the next appointment though and glucose test has to be done before the next appointment...yay! Drink at the lab then wait an hour. Hopefully they have it chilled since most everyone says it's better that way!
And we we talked with the billing department. Turns out I don't qualify for full Medicaid coverage but for "shared cost" meaning if what we have to pay out of pocket after my insurance is greater than the shared cost amount then it will kick in. Doesn't sound like it will though since I have a pretty low deductible and then a 60/40 out of pocket. Sigh...but maybe it still will lol who knows?!? And $300 for circumcision to be paid by the time of the procedure (which H says yes to). So yay another bill up front!
Sorry for the update/rant on here I can't remember which thread I mentioned the Medicaid stuff on, but I know the glucose test has been mentioned on here!

I am mournfully packing up all of my clothes. All of my size 0-2, my XS and S, my nonmaternity clothes that I won't fit into for a long time (and sadly, haven't for a while now.) I'm packaging up all my favorites, all the memories and good times, and away into a sad plastic bin they go for the attic to hold.
So much to catch up on. So sorry about pet losses. My brother is going through it with his fur baby and he is not handling it well. They are best friends. It's so hard. I have a question for you all. I am 27+1 and measured at 30+ today when OB measured fundal height. I measured ahead with DS 2 also and he came early at 8lbs and apparently I had a ton of fluid. I wouldn't worry except I googled. Stupid I know. Anyone else measuring ahead, or measure ahead in multiple pregnancies?
I am also team "ruched stuff bugs the crap out of me." Most of my shirts are pretty stretchy and will last nearly to the end, but my maternity woe is pants!
I have to wear khakis for work, and finding maternity khakis is seriously sooo hard. I only have 3 pairs, and on the other days I've been attempting a belly band with my regular pants, but this huge belly isn't going to let that me an option much longer. If anyone as suggestions where to look besides old navy, gap, target, motherhood and H&M please share!
Also, thanks to whoever suggested looking on FB for baby gear! I just scored a brand new Lillebaby carrier for $60!
@mamatowildones I measured very large last time even for twins, both kiddos were pretty good size for 34 weekers (5lb 6oz & 5lb 15oz) No complications associated with measuring large that I was ever informed of.
I feel ripped off by Amazon. I rented a movie for $3.99 last night, fell asleep halfway through because I'm super pregnant, and when I tried to finish it tonight I realized it was only a 24 hour rental. Yeah, my fault for not noticing that, but come on. If you're gonna charge 4 bucks to rent a movie, at least give me more than 1 evening.

I'm going to throw myself a little party! Just got the GD results back and I'm in the clear! Also, a miracle, my anemia is in check! Phew! After the week I've had, I'll take this to the bank!
Random: I'm currently watching the "Friends" episode where Rachel is about to go into labor. And she looks as big as I do now!!! WTF, Hollywood? Why can't we tell (show) it like it really is? No wonder every woman beyond six months pregnant gets told she looks like she's about to pop...
What a rough week... sorry I perused through the 8 pages of this thread... so many good discussions... owning vs renting, making new friends, grocery delivery/pickup...
@Jen_Shoes & @chailife34: Happy Belated Birthday! I hope it turned out to be fabulous after all!
Thanks for the acknowledgement and positive vibes regarding my baby girl, MB. It is all still surreal. I can't believe she's gone. My other girl is mourning and it's so sad she lost her sister and is now "alone." We had MB cremated. We got a paw print in clay beforehand and are waiting to find the right "urn" to put her ashes in. Again, ladies, thanks for listening and allowing me this space to share this.

This! How about when Phoebe was allegedly pregnant with triplets and she was able to move around no problem, then her post partum body instantly snapped back. Yeah..okay
@chailife34 Phoebe was actually pregnant in real life hence the storyline, Rachel was not. Monica was pregnant the last season in real life, but they already said they couldn't have kids on the show so they had to cover it up with flowy shirts and stuff.
second time moms/third/etc..... are you replacing all of your bottle nipples for new when this LO arrives? all my bottles are less than 2 years old and appear to be in good condition, so I am not sure if the nipples need to be replaced or not.
I am getting all new ones @lrwardrop. The nipples were used for under a year then stored for a bit and I'm tossing them all. I'm keeping the ready of the bottle parts though.
Eh, I feel like Rachel full term could be realistic for her body type. I always thought I'd have the tiniest pregnant stomach because my Mom full term was smaller than I am now, by a bit. She saw a different Dr. towards the end and he was adamant she must only be 5 months along until he finally looked into her records.

Stuck in a box! Samesies--I'm tossing my bottles and getting new ones. Although the old ones are probably fine, we threw them in the dishwasher more than we probably should. I'm planning to use the ones that come with the pump (assuming I get them this go around) for the first little while and have a few single bottles on hand to try out. Whichever she likes best will be what I buy 6 or so of.

Same. They are pretty cheap to replace and everything I have read said the latex ones only last up to 3-4 months and the silicone ones up to a year before the material starts to wear down. And if you stored anything in a garage or attic I can only imagine the heat has sped up this process.
