(STM) I put together the double-stroller and used it at a festival this weekend with DD's cousins. Turns out it doesn't fit in my trunk. Whoops! I guess we'll be taking DH's SUV anytime we need to use it. LOL
I am joining the group that doesn't like clutter or tons of baby looking items in the house. This time around, we went with the 4Moms Breeze, so it would be a solid black color and no crazy patterns. Same with the swing, the first time we had the giant Fisher Price Snugabunny swing (which we loved, but we lent it to three other family members babies, and the motor finally died), and now we have a black Mamaroo that takes up 1/3 of the space that the FP swing did. Our carseats are both pattern-free, and I would say that 75% of our baby gear is either black/gray/white/cream/etc. With DD, we didn't get a highchair, or exersaucer until she was at the age that she would be using it, and then quickly got rid of it as soon as she was bigger (so we bought used since we knew we wouldn't keep them long and didn't want to store them. Even then, we made sure to get a Space Saver high chair so it wouldn't take up space, and then once she was bigger, moved to a rubber booster that just sat on the chair...so we didn't have a full sized high chair taking up space. The exersaucer was always folded and in the coat closet so it wasn't out all of the time unless it was being used. My boss was the same way, she had one exersaucer and one play mat for twins....and that was all she needed.
@PhoebeJune1984 same same same. I keep getting comments how "boring" everything is on my registry. My unborn child doesn't care if his baby gear is black versus neon with baseballs and trucks on it or some crap. Sorry 'bout it.
@PhoebeJune1984@theshannondee with you there! Every time I shop with other people they coo over all the electric patterned stuff and I'm just like "Does it come in navy/gray/black/cream?"
I know. I keep getting comments about how all of my big baby gear is black or brown (Stokke Tripp Trapp, what what!!) but everything still looks nice after almost 3 years and it doesn't make a big visual mess.
Well, shoot. All I have is a little stockpile of diapers/wipes, some clothes, and a bouncer. My shower isn't til the end of the month and I've been trying to wait until after that to see what we get. But we only have 77 days left... and DH will be gone for a couple weeks in June for Army stuff. I feel like I should probably at least get a hospital bag packed in case something happens!
We still don't have a name picked out. And I *just* scheduled our hospital tour for next week!
I'm nesting hard core but running out of ways to near as we haven't fully turned our office into the nursery yet.. Ahh feeling overwhelmed how soon I'll be a mom!

Right?! Me too. Trying not too stress too much about everything I need to do in the next few months. Assuming she stays in there that long!
Today we got told our due date has been moved ahead 2 days. And my placenta Previa has cleared!!! Now I have to get it through my head that their won't be a scheduled c-section and I actually have to give birth to this little monkey!
At my doctors appointment they told me I was measuring 4 weeks ahead based on belly size. I know there are a lot of factors that influence how you measure day to day but hearing my DD could even have a small remote possibility to be cut down by a third was a little shocking.
I have been reworking some project plan timelines the last few days and realized I have 8 weeks to get all of my projects done to ensure they are finished in case I go into labor a couple of weeks early (DD 7/1). Eight weeks feels so much shorter than 10!
we finally put together the new crib with mattress and the new dresser together! Being stuck inside all day due to flooding is the perfect time to build furniture I suppose. And I washed a lot of the baby stuff after the cat decided to PEE all over it. Thanks cat. I think he was just trying to light a fire under my ass.
We got our first shower gifts delivered to us today (our shower isn't until May 22). My husband texted me pictures of what we got. I am so excited but so nervous at the same time!
I accidentally started stalking...I went on to look at something and say gifts were bought. Then I started checking everyday! I forced myself to stop now though lol. I'm waiting for my husband to get home so we can open it together. I think the delivery of actual baby stuff freaked him out a little bit lol
I'm on the registry stalking bandwagon too but I blame it on my mom. Every time someone buys something, she tells me "ooooh someone bought something!!" So then I get excited and check. I'm so overwhelmed by people's generosity though, as some of our bigger items have been purchased.
I checked my registry a few times last pregnancy and sometimes knew who was buying certain gifts because of the timing. Then I felt guilty ruining their surprise and stopped checking...for a while at least. We waited on big stuff and I may have checked which of those things were still needed closer to the shower.
Got a 3d ultrasound done today at 28 weeks pregnant. I never had one done before and holy shit, shit just got real!! It added a whole new level of realness to see my precious boys little face.
@lolomommy1 Right!! I had a 3D scan for the first time yesterday too. I'm 26 weeks. Baby had his hand over his face the whole time so I can see only part of it. But his face was still so distinct - I could tell 100% that he has the same exact nose as my dad! Wow!!!

yup. It tripped me out, he looks just like my son! I mean considering they are brothers it only makes sense, but it really hit me hard seeing those cute little features...this baby will be here really soon!
Tomorrow starts third trimester for me. Makes it feel so much closer suddenly. I feel like I need to make a list of things to get done to be ready, but in reality, I don't think we have as much to do second time around. Moving the crib back to our room and installing the car seat are the two big ones and we do have some time for that yet.
DH and I have started the process of buying life insurance and a nurse is coming to the house this morning to do our paramed exams. Planning for what happens if something happens to either of us makes this shit feel real real
I'm kind of behind everyone since I'm due at the end of July. But I have my glucose test this week. And this is my last "Monthly" appointment. Every other week after this one.
I'm due early enough in July that baby could decide to come in June meaning I could be having a baby next month. And that's super scary to think about because there is still soooo much left to do!
Baby has clothes in their dresser! All folded and ready. I refuse to wash it all until after s/he is home though. Just a weird quirk I have. I'll only wash what's going to the hospital with us. We're team green but the pink in the corner was stuff that I wore as a baby that my mom saved for me.
Had our hospital tour last night. On top of that the default screen on the computer in the rooms shows the fetal monitoring and contractions of all the patients on the floor. We were able to see the actual real time labor of 5 different women. Made me realize how close I am to that being my labor and it got real, real fast.
My fundal measurement was a little high at my appointment yesterday so my OB ordered us to get a sonogram at the next available appointment time. Fortunately, they had one that afternoon so we got in a couple hours later. All her measurements ended up being right on time and her weight (by ultrasound) was 3.5 lbs! The kicker was we got a REALLY good shot of her face which looked more like a face due to the fat accumulating (not a skeleton face like at the anatomy scan). The picture makes us realize she can come anytime and looks like a real person. She has chubby cheeks and everything. Now we can't wait to meet her even more!

It is May. If you look over in the May board, thee have already been so many babies born previous to this month. This means that there is a good chance that a bunch of is july ladies have babies NEXT MONTH.
@MollyH1987 yes to everything you said. I just had an ultrasound this morning to check baby's growth because I measured on the small side at my last appt. Getting our first glimpse of his sweet little face actually looking like a human baby was definitely a "holy sh!t" moment for me. While I hope he stays in there and keeps cooking for the next 10 weeks, I'm that much more excited to meet him now!
@megstervt my DH was weirdly obsessed with checking out the contraction monitor during my labor with DD#1. I was induced so it took some time for our excitement to begin. I think it was a good distraction for him. Haha
@quartz02 I made watching the monitor DH's job so he could tell me when to be ready and when to start relaxing again. That was mostly the only talking he was allowed.
