G woke up this morning at 530 and I just couldn't do it, I couldn't get up. So I woke DH and told him that the Army had been training him for years to wake up between 4-5am and function for an entire workday and it had all been training for a morning such as this one. He bought it and got up and let me sleep for another hour! I'm loving this job and him not having to be at work til 9am!
I still haven't been away from dd overnight but I would like to go on a winter weekend away w just h. I know I'm going to miss her so much but I feel like my marriage probably needs a carefree weekend.
Every other month sounds like a lot if you are getting in regular date nights. Maybe try to plan something just the two of you before you start trying for baby #2?
I've been away for three nights and DH has been away for three nights, but they haven't been the same three nights, so I cam sympathize. We are in desperate need of an overnight, but there is no one around to keep the baby for an overnight. Hell, even a dinner out would be nice...maybe once busy season is over?!
We are trying to plan a weekend away in September...lol. How sad is that? If we plan a year in advance it just might happen. Between DH's inflexible work schedule and finding someone to take 2 kids and a dog, getting away is hard.
DH and I desperately need a night away or just some alone time together. We live far from any family and the two occasions we could cut loose ended in disaster. We have another wedding this weekend so hopefully those few hours will be enough to bring us together or at least on the same page.
Trying to break this "every two hours" thing DS has going at night.
It is rough.
Edolie has been doing this too. (:|
Also in the 2 hour boat (well, 1-2 hour). Ugh. I'm now remembering why having freezer meals when he was born were such a good idea. If he's going to sleep like a newborn, at least he could have the decency of napping like a newborn...These little naps are just not cutting it!

Any other babies trying to stand unassisted? Ds started crawling about 1.5 weeks ago and yesterday he has been trying to stand unassisted. Why is everything happening so fast! (
She can't crawl she just rocks but she does try to pull herself up to stand however. She gets to her knees holding on to stuff before she collapsed from lack of ab muscles.
I'm giving my self a month before I decide what I'm going to do. Thank you for the hugs, DS didn't wake up until 8 this morning so I'm getting all of my snugs in. Last night I also took him out of his bed and put him in mine so I could get sleepy snugs. We both needed them.
Sorry for all of you with sleepy screaming babies, it's rough, hopefully it ends soon
Mommy and Me storytime was fun, but the girl running it wasn't super prepared. After a bunch of the other moms complained that there's no kindermusik or anything in this town, I offered to do some musical activities for the kids next week, since I have that background. Kinda excited!
M learned that other kids can grab him the way he tries to grab the dog. It blew his mind.
@mamrotu73 the Army doesn't pick up boxes either. We normally post them on the local base b/s/t Facebook page or on Craigslist and other military families that are about to dity move will come grab them pretty quickly
Yesterday I had my Pandora on and just shut my laptop when I was finished working instead of closing everything down. Apparently this means that when I opened up my laptop during a meeting this morning, it started blasting "Livin' on a Prayer' until I logged in and could turn it off. Oh well, no shame in my game. BonJovi4lyfe.
I feel Logan is way behind all these babies that are crawling and standing already. He sits really well but is no where near crawling and doesn't roll over even though he can.

Isla doesn't seem super interested in crawling either. She sits up fine, scoots if she REALLY wants something, but isn't super into being mobile 24/7. Thank the lord.
Add her to the list of no sleeping either... She's just not having it. We are on the verge of losing our minds over here...
@snowbound We're in the same boat on the forgetting how to nurse - ouch! I finally healed a cracked nip after 5 mo and now after some hangry nursing she managed to damage both. I got the biggest nip blood blister plus an errant latch below the target that ripped a hole on the bottom of the nip. I had no idea after all the early struggles I would have more once we 'got good' at it. Amazing how 10s of a bad latch can take weeks to heal.
Good morning everyone! (Well, it is still morning here for another hour) So, my thoughts for the morning, based on what I've read.
On C-Sections vs. Natural Birth vs. Induction and with/without meds - I can spin all of this into a positive. C-Section - Congrats, you did what you needed for your health and the health of your baby. (People knocking this pisses me off. If you have any other surgery, you get sympathy, with a C-Section, people make it seem like if you had just didn't try hard enough.) Natural Birth - Congrats, you pushed out a watermelon and didn't kill your SO in the process! Induction - Congrats, you did what you needed for your health and the health of your baby. Go med free? Congrats, you're one tough chick. Opted for the meds? Congrats, you're one smart chick.
Seriously, our babies are 6+ months old now and they are awesome. Does it really matter how they entered to world? NO!
Carlene isn't even sitting up on her own yet. She has done a bit of tripod sitting, but that's it. She has great back muscles and great leg muscles and has tried scooting forward, just isn't sitting up yet.

Bubba can sit unassisted for a long time. He has no interest in crawling. As soon as I put him on his tummy he rolls and tries to find something to crab so he can sit up. I try for tummy time, but it doesn't always happen. He sleeps on his tummy now, so he does get time on it.
Had my 12 week appt today. Blood pressure was high for me (145/87). Idk why and they weren't worried. I guess I was stressed, but I'll be monitoring it. Measuring good and heartbeat was heard quickly via the doppler. I was hoping for an ultrasound because I selfishly want to see LO, but oh well. And I've gained 3 lbs from my carb/fast food overload. Ugh!

Same. A friend of mine's son didn't crawl until he was 10 1/2 months. I'm no expert but I'm seriously just enjoying him not moving around everywhere while I still can. I'll worry when my doctor seems worried! Hugs!
Yeah, I'm not overly concerned. DS1 didn't crawl for a while. I'm definitely ok with not have a mobile baby it just seemed so behind compared to the babies that are movin.

For those with non-crawlers. Don't worry. Seriously. They are so much easier that way! DS keeps dumping the dog water, crawling near the stairs, following me around, getting stuck under the table, and banging his head/face on everything.
My kid leap frogs and is content, doesn't try crawling. He's pretty quick too, everything has been moved around since he seems to get into everything that's not for him.
DS is sort of figuring out this crawling business, which is extra exciting because he is "supposed" to be have delayed gross motor skill from his torticollis, but has no real interest in sitting. He also loves to flip onto his back and do pelvic thrusts, which propels him forward, and scoot himself around the house that way. Seriously so cute, as he does it with the biggest smile on his face, but his physical therapist isn't happy about it . So, I guess we need to be working more on flexion (bending forward).
Feeling a little defeated - I know he's made awesome progress, and we get lots of compliments at therapy, but every time we go, we leave with a laundry list of new things we need to be working on, which just reminds me that there's still a lots that isn't quite write with my little boy. But, we are so lucky he doesn't have bigger issues, and that we'll be able to fix everything.
On the plus side, therapy tires him out a ton, so he's taking a lovely nap right now, and I'm finally getting some lunch!

Hey guys! We're trying out a babysitter tonight for the first time! She's super sweet. I can't wait to go to the bar down the street and hang out with my husband.
Caroline is also not crawling and I'm totally ok with that! I have no interest in baby proofing.
Micah didn't crawl until after a year old, it was about the same time he started walking. He was happy to army crawl instead. G is all into the Army crawl, he's 7 months and just started on Monday. He had no interest until dad went back to work.
LO is nowhere near crawling. I'm in no hurry for him to start. Dd didn't crawl till 10mos or more and didn't walk till 14 months. That's when the real house proofing starts!

I ran out yesterday and bought a bunch of halloween costumes on clearance so that the girls would have a dress up chest. DD1 is loving them. Unfortunately some of the costumes had glitter sparkles on them and now my house is covered. This stuff does not go away! Even the poor dog and LO are now covered in sparkles and ofcourse I can't convince her to take it off - Boo hiss hiss
@juniper75 that's funny! We have glitter all over the house from DD's Halloween witch's broom, which was purple glittery. It turns up on all of us and I even found some in lo's diaper. At least it's pretty!

J got his first bite at daycare today. The ladies thought the toddler was going in for a hug. In reality, she took a huge chomp on his cheek...
Guess my kid has street cred now?
I remember when Chase got his first bite. I think he was about 10 months old. It is an in-home daycare and he was there with a 2 year old boy and his 6 year old sister. When Chase started crying, our provider ran into the room to investigate and was told by the sister that Chase got his finger stuck in the dino's mouth. When I got home and pushed up Chase's sleeve for dinner, I saw the perfect crescent shaped bite mark on his arm and called the daycare. (I wasn't mad, just wanted to let her know to keep an eye out for whoever was biting) Two year old got a talking to, and big sister got a time out for that one. The little boy never bit anyone again. He is such a cute kid, just got frustrated and didn't know how to deal with it.
I hope J recovers quickly.

@twirple, thanks! No skin broken, just the perfect crescent red mark on his chunky cheeks - plus he was in a room with 3 adults. They said he didn't even really cry. And she was a known biter. I hope he learns to crawl soon so he's less easy of a target!

AWing since I've been MIA. After I'm done being selfish, I'll catch up on some RTT and send necessary hugs and TPs. But for now, I leave you these:
