@hlm184 we lowered the crib when Cora started to be able to get from a crawling to a sitting position on her own and I'm glad we did because it only took her a week or so to go from that to pulling up.
The pic I posted above was the day after we lowered the mattress.
So when naptime hit 2.5 hours, I went in to check on him, only to find him happily sitting up in his crib, playing with his lovey.
When do we need to lower the crib??
This was me this morning at the 1.5 hour mark. I knew something was up when I realized I woke up from a nap. I never get naps. We are going to lower the crib today when DH gets home.
@RedDawnsRevenge Would it be easier if I just messaged everyone privately with the link? That way you wouldn't have to add everyone? Let me know, I don't want to create too much work for you!
I'm thinking most people doing this will have already been in our group, so it should be easier this time?
Well quite a few aren't, it's in the thread called A14 Christmas Gift Exchange on the main board.
EDIT - The people who I've told to PM me their info won't be getting the link...maybe I'll just PM the others so you don't accidentally give the link to any newbs?
As I suggested yesterday, I think using the group would be a good idea so we could discuss our likes and dislikes like we did last year in the sticky thread, unless y'all just want to make another sticky thread again.
Elfster lets you anonymously message your buddy!
Edit - just don't say y'all. Hehe
That is literally impossible for me. :P
It's all good @edoliesmom, its literally impossible for me not to say y'all as well. It's a Texas/Southern thing.
Aww, yaaaay @hlm184!! I'm glad you all had a good time! It was an interesting, if not disappointing, game.
He had a blast, even though he slept through most of it!
Also, we could have gotten away without a ticket for him - the lady who took ours went off on a long rant about how it's horrible that we have to buy tickets for babies - but I didn't want to chance it.
The most randomest of thoughts: I was thinking about the song "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus," and obviously the dad is dressed as Santa but the kid doesn't know that! What kind of parenting are they doing for that kid to think it would've been funny if his dad would've seen his mother kissing another man?! Seriously, c'mon.

Noooo, my period came back. 6 1/2 months though. I guess I can't complain. That explains all the bloating I've been having the past couple of days. Not looking forward to trying a tampon later.

Loving out of sympathy, I suspect I will be in the same boat a week from now.
@macgrs thanks for the suggestion. We had a peds appointment this morning because I was worried it was a yeast rash since it seemed to be spreading to her thighs. Luckily it's just a bad diaper rash so she's gotten lots of diaper less play time.
Trying to find a room for rent as it seems living on the couch isn't going to work after all. Looks like I may have to turn this job down. If I can't find a place to stay and an overnight baby sitter. Have I mentioned I hate my sister?

Got mine last week at 6 and a half too. I fucking hated it. I'm still spotting. It was so damn heavy. I've never had a period so heavy. It was long too.

Well I'm really confused because now it seems it has stopped? :-/ Not really sure what's going on. That seems awful though!

I don't know how DH does his job. Two nights ago he had a 3 month old baby that died, and tonight he arrested a stepdad who hid a video camera in his 12 year old step-daughter's room and taped her undressing.

WTAF is wrong with people?! Ah. :-<
It takes a strong person to deal with that and not come undone every day! Your husband is a special guy. Those are awful things though.

Have any of you had any issues with your LO's belly button? During bath tonight I noticed that the inside of her belly button was red. It had no discharge or smell or anything and it must not be sore because it didn't bother her at all when I was inspecting it. But ofcourse its bothering me because I don't know what it is.. She did have her 6 month vaccines today and a flu shot but I don't see how that could be related.
I'm a total rtt lurker but have never jumped in. I don't think this warrants its own post but I have to put it out there. My LO is sleeping on her tummy for the first time and its freaking me out. I've been sitting by her crib for 45 minutes catching up on here. She's been waking up on her stomach 4-5 times a night rocking tummy time when all I want is to be sleeping. She then starts screaming because she can't roll back. Tonight I encouraged her to lay her head down instead of rolling her over and I feel like I've set her up for disaster.
Somebody knock some sense into me. She can fully lift her head and chest up on her tummy. She has even picked it up and turned it twice in the last 15 minutes. But she can't roll from tummy to back for some reason. Does that matter? Uggghhh....I worry too much.
@mamrotu73 thank you! That's good to hear. She seems to be sleeping great right now. Most of the time is she starts to wake up she's up. But its happened a couple of times and she turned her head and fallen asleep again.
My friend who is adopting found out today that the prospective birth mother who picked them a few weeks ago miscarried over the weekend. My heart is breaking for my friend and her husband.
T&P for your friend, her husband, and the expectant mother. (I can only imagine the mixed feelings that poor woman is having right now.)

Oh haiiii. Skipping 200 posts because I just cannnnnot. I miss you guys, but things are hella crazy in my little corner o' the internet these days. You ever have a month that just feels like it didn't happen because it was so hectic? That was October for us. Where did it go? Wha happen?? Where am I?
In other news, I'm observing a moment of silence tonight for my absent period, who has returned with a vengeance. Beer me, please. And by beer, I mean gin and tonic.
This weekend is our anniversary and I've got nothing. Any ideas? 6 years...I should be so much more invested in celebrating our love, blah blah blah, but I'm exhausted and hormonal and I honestly just want to stay in a hotel by myself for a night. Can I ask for that as my gift?
@jodibolivar I'm so sorry for your friend and the mother. Saying a prayer tonight for everyone involved.
@zoopsiedaisy DD has been a tummy sleeper since we stopped swaddling at 3 months. She will not sleep if put on her back. It was nerve wracking for a few nights, but she had great head/neck control even back then.
@jodibolivar so sorry for your friend's loss. How heartbreaking
DS has a miserable cold and a tooth breaking through. Last night I can't even remember how many times I got up with him. Pretty sure I was awake more than asleep. Steeling myself for tonight, because if how rough it was to get him to sleep was any indication, tonight is also going to suck. Anyone else predicting a bad night?

Ugh that sucks! LO has had a cold for about a week now thanks to DH. I give him Motrin before bed and have been running the vaporizer with Vicks in it all night while he sleeps, it's really made a difference. His room smells like a grow op but whatever. Do you have a vaporizer? Maybe try that?
That's a good idea - I keep forgetting LO is old enough that I could actually use medication. Too late to run out tonight, but I might pick up some vicks for tomorrow if he's still sick. Is there a special one for infants that you use? We're using a regular humidifier right now, but it's not quite cutting it. Is it silly that I'm worried about giving him motrin? He's never had medication (besides vaccines) before. Maybe I'll try that in the morning, when I can check for reactions.

@janellemj928 Since 3 months! Ok. That makes me feel better. The funny thing is she woke up about thirty minutes ago screaming. Her nose was all stuffy too. She went to sleep clear. Maybe its the belly sleeping or the butternut squash for dinner. I'm trying to nurse her to sleep right now. It could be a long night.
Catching up. DS has been sleeping on his stomach for I don't remember how long. That hasn't mattered the last few nights, though, since he pretty much wakes up screaming after five minutes. Yawn.
When DS is super stuffy, I've put a pillow under the crib mattress so one end is slightly elevated and that helps keep it drained. Just an idea.
I have to brag on DH. I sing in a Pops Chorus and rehearsals are Monday nights. Well, it's been really hard on DH for me to be gone and tonight was the first night I came home and everyone was happy!! I'm so proud of the two of them for figuring each other out and for making it work. Yay!!
