I feel Logan is way behind all these babies that are crawling and standing already. He sits really well but is no where near crawling and doesn't roll over even though he can.

DS will log roll across the whole living room but refuses to sit up. He won't even try. When I put him in a sitting position he arches his back to lay down. Then he proceeds to roll. I've given up. I think he will sit after he is crawling for sure.

  • My DH is a big momma's boy. For awhile they used to talk daily. I dunno if that's really any better...lol

And speaking of biting - LO bit me for the first time tonight. Thankfully she didn't break the skin (she only has teeth on the bottom) but my poor nipple is so sore :(
  • Signed up for the ornament exchange! So excited to find out who my buddy is!

In other news, desperate times call for desperate measures. The chiro isn't helping my sciatic pain (I had such high hopes when the back pain got better, sucks that it turned into this!), nor is walking, rest, or stretching. Dr. Google suggested that elevated estrogen levels from the nuvaring could aggravate back and sciatic pain. Goodbye, sex without condoms, see you after the big snip.

Boo! I'm sorry you're in pain, are there any other remedies out there? Good God I hate condoms. I hope that fixes it!
Yeah I really hope this starts to alleviate it because damn! I'm running out of things to try!

I feel for you. I was having awful sciatic pain for awhile, particularly when I was always holding LO while she slept and spending half the night sleeping in the glider rocker. Thankfully mine got better once we started sleep training and I got to move back into a bed.

DS is sort of figuring out this crawling business, which is extra exciting because he is "supposed" to be have delayed gross motor skill from his torticollis, but has no real interest in sitting. He also loves to flip onto his back and do pelvic thrusts, which propels him forward, and scoot himself around the house that way. Seriously so cute, as he does it with the biggest smile on his face, but his physical therapist isn't happy about it :(. So, I guess we need to be working more on flexion (bending forward).

Feeling a little defeated - I know he's made awesome progress, and we get lots of compliments at therapy, but every time we go, we leave with a laundry list of new things we need to be working on, which just reminds me that there's still a lots that isn't quite write with my little boy. But, we are so lucky he doesn't have bigger issues, and that we'll be able to fix everything.

On the plus side, therapy tires him out a ton, so he's taking a lovely nap right now, and I'm finally getting some lunch!

Hugs @CalinAZ‌ I totally understand all of the trials with tortoccilis. I feel like we are getting nowhere but her physical therapist says she is greatly improved. My sis is a PT as well and is happy with her progress.

Is your LO still in his helmet or has he graduated out of that?

  • A has started mimicking sounds! Particularly "ugh!" when she has a vile fart, and then she starts laughing at me. Also heard a couple "mamas" from her, though I can't be sure that they were intentional just yet.

What's the saying? The first two years are spent teaching them to walk and talk, and the next 16 trying to get them to sit down and shut up!

    Where do you live...?
It is a 24 hour news network. Extra conservative but claiming to be "fair and balanced." Smug. Hypocritical. Generally obnoxious, sometimes racist/sexist/etc hosts and anchors. Not much actual news.

To be fair, I detest all 24 hour news networks and those complaints above apply to various other news networks as well. I just also happen to disagree with the political views of Fox.
I live in Quebec, we are far more concerned with the English vs french battle than conservative vs liberal. Don't watch much American TV. I've heard of and watched CNN but not fox news. (I'm a huge news junky)

Did this Monday morning. The dogs wouldn't stop barking and DH was snoring. Laid in bed for 8 hours and slept for maybe 2.
  • @edoliesmom‌ I'm a crier, too. Tired, mad, sad, and frustrated are my cry emotions.

After happily eating solids for 6 weeks, dd has started refusing food today. She usually begs me for breakfast, today she is turning her head away :( hope she is okay.

Ugh, how miserable! :( So thankful my husband doesn't snore. We'd have separate bedrooms.

It's not all the time, and normally I can elbow him and he moves/stops. If I'm sleeping, it doesn't bother me but since the dogs woke me up it did. I elbowed him at least 20 times and he just kept going. It was a long night.
  • DS had his dermatologist appt today. They basically said there isn't much more I can do other then try a stronger steroid cream. Slightly irritating because I want to fix him and make him feel better. Hopefully the new cream gets his flare up under control.

Anyone have headache cures or recommendations? I've had terrible headaches lately. Last time they didn't start until 16 weeks or so. I take tylenol when it's really bad along with caffeine. Any other suggestions?

DH and I have been fighting. He slept on the couch last night. I don't want to fight, but he never helps out. I don't feel good and would love to have a break or for him to make formula or bathe DS once. He can't do anything by himself. I'm so frustrated.

@LizChad09 - Thanks! Sorry you're feeling similarly - torticollis is a tough one to treat. He's in this helmet for one more week, and then we get evaluated to see if we need a second. I'm not sure if we will - he still has definite asymmetry, but it's no longer severe. I think it might come down to whether or not insurance covers it. How long is Savannah expected to be in her helmet for?

Headaches are the worst! Sometimes caffeine can actually trigger headaches too! Have you tried pressure points? There is one between your thumb and pointer finger, not the webbed part, but the thicker part. It's worked for me in the past. Also, grape juice is good for headaches. Hope you feel better!

That sucks. Hopefully you won't have another night like that for a long time!

  • @CalinAZ‌ Savannah's plagiocephaly is moderate. They are saying she needs the helmet for 3 months. We are on week 3 already. I can already see improvement in her flat area.

It's nice having an Internet friend going through the same things.
  • Thanks ladies. @Vinny424 nope. My pee is yellow and I know I'm not getting enough water. I typically drink juice instead. Which is probably my main problem. I try, but I'm like why water when I can have delicious orange juice or whatever. Idk how to drink 100 oz of water a day without spending all my time in the bathroom.

  • @hlm184 I wan't your mom's loom.  If she wants to get rid of it, I'll take it off her hands.  I might have to get rid of the couch to make room for it, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I have spent the last three evenings making the warp woven blanket for Carlene.  Tonight I get to get the warp on the loom.

  • I'm the same way @ambarnett1‌ when I was pregnant with DS i drank ice water with lemon & cucumber slices, and fruit flavored sparkling water. I would and still do choose juice or whatever over plain water. Having something else helps though!

And the 100 oz a day isn't just water. It's water, tea or coffee. So you have some options!
