Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • Nursing now, for the first of likely 4-5 wakeups. I don't understand why the baby wakes up SCREAMING. Passed out to hysterical in 2 seconds. Then right back asleep on the boob. I've clearly done something wrong to create this situation:(.
  • Loading the player...
  • I'm also up with a non sleeping baby. I think we are on wake up 3 but I can't remember. Little dude will not sleep tonight. I don't know if it's teeth or what but I hope it stops soon!

    Mine does this too
  • Ugh, A has been on the boob 24 hours a day for the last 3 days or so. So touched out. @-)

  • Well I'm joining you ladies with babies who won't sleep at night. We had a few really good nights, but sweet thing has a cold and has been up several times in the last few hours. I just want to sleep :((

  • @luckysquare Good luck today. I've been thinking of you and Melanie and I hope you get positive news today.
  • I feel for you @thomas930. I always have to reheat my coffee multiple times before I get to enjoy it.
  • Victory! And I am more than happy to be associated with high school history :) Fingers crossed that you can get some sleep lady!

And this is the face of triumph.

It's not giving in if I wanted pizza too, right? @roufi I love the word defenestrate. Defenestration of Prague. Now I'll forever associate you with high school history. <3

I think I might be too incoherent to bump. I'm going to sleep until the baby decides I have to feed him. </p>

I wish I was a coffee drinker. It would at least give me something to look forward to when the day starts so early

    Same. Hot chocolate? Mmm
Me three! I do tea when I need a caffeine injection, but I also like the way it warms you up and kind of slows the morning down if that makes any sense whatsoever (no caffeine has been injected yet, obviously)
  • And @LuckySquare‌ so happy to see you back, and that you've been panic attack free for the past week. I hope that today's appt goes smoothly.
  • I drink chocolate milk every morning. My mom was never a coffee drinker, she drank chocolate milk every morning and I'm the same way now. I love the swirling of my glass in the morning.
  • How did I get so lucky. Teeth, crawling, pulling to sit, and not sleeping all in one week. It has been quite a doozy. I suppose I should get on that whole baby proofing madness since he is unplugging shit now.
  • Thanks everyone for the encouragement with my tummy sleeping fears last night. After I got her back to sleep my husband WOKE HER UP!! She screamed again for a bit and then fell asleep...in my bed.

I feel for all the ladies struggling with sleep. DH slept on the sofa amd I got 6.5 hours of sleep because she was with me. I need to be really careful that I don't make this a habit myself. It was so easy. Good luck everybody!

I often have tea on a cold morning at the cottage staring out at the mist on the lake, but it never occurs to me to make one at home..lol
  • On a local FB yard sale page there was a mom asking for people's breastmilk because her supply dropped. I'm not against using someone else breast milk if I had to, but random strangers over the Internet doesn't seem like the best way to go... I commented and left a link for human milk for human babies.

I've started drinking tea in the morning. Caffeine doesn't affect me, but something about having a hot drink makes me feel better about being exhausted :)

  • I'd guess that most of the people selling formula on Craigslist are getting it free from WIC. Super shady to be selling something that the govt gives you for free!

  • I think formula is fine since its sealed, just asking for breastmilk from strangers blows my mind.
  • Are there any Canadian ladies who would have any use for $10 or $15 worth of Similac cheques? They've been chilling out on my fridge for the past couple months because my name is Amanda and I am a hoarder. Please divest me of them, and in doing so, improve my quality of life.

  • We have family photos today-ughhhhh.  The worst.
  • Yay @LuckySquare‌! I'm so happy for you!
  • @luckysquare - yay!  I'm super happy for you that that craniosynostosis was ruled out for your little one :). Yay for no surgeries!

Last night's sleep was better than the night before at least. Every two hours, but at least it was predictable and he went down pretty well after each feeding. I excitedly told my husband that at least he slept until midnight for the first feeding, but he reminded me that I did feed him at 10, too. So 10, 12, 2, 4, and up at 6. We're officially back to where we were without sleep training :(

  • Does anyone have a convertible seat they love and a baby with chunky legs? We have the britax blvd and I need to get another seat and was waiting for Black Friday sales. I was going to get another blvd, but her thighs get seriously pinched and I would like something more comfortable.

We need to do a will too. I'm so behind on all the 'office' parts of the household right now.
  • Great news @LuckySquare‌!

I feel bad for DH because I was mean. We don't have a washer/dryer at our house because DH didn't want to spend the money if his parents are done the street (15 mins) and we won't be here long. She's a teacher so she's home today. I asked her last night if i could wash clothes because DS doesn't have any sleepers clean. I get over there and the washer was just started and so was the dryer. She just left for the dentist so no point in staying. DH called at lunch and I told him he had to take the baby over there to do laundry before bedtime. They just left and DS was fussy. I feel bad because he worked the whole day, but DS needs clothes and I'm pissed the MIL started laundry knowing I needed to use the washer. I feel selfish for being mad and being mean, but ugh I just want washer and dryer!

Totally justifiable. He made a decision that makes your life more complicated on a daily basis. Think how much worse it will be with two kids. I do soooo many loads of laundry! So what if he gets a little inconvenienced for one day.

Maybe he would consider a small washer so you can do small loads when you are stuck and hang them to dry?
