Can I smack my MIL? My friends are hosting a shower, and since MIL wasn't going to have one in DH's hometown (2.5 hours away) we asked if there was anyone outside of the SIL's and her we should ask. There were two people in particular I thought we should ask - DH's best friend's mom and aunt, his second family essentially. MIL said no on three separate occasions, and I even asked DH if we should ask them anyway, and he said it was his mom's call.
Fast forward to today, and shower is in two weeks. DH calls me and says his mom wants to know if we can invite these two women to the shower... Thankfully my friends are super accommodating and said it was NBD, but it still makes me feel like an ass. (I know, not my fault, but still!) I'm doubly thankful that DH called these two women and told them exactly how it went down, essentially telling them his mom is an idiot.
OMG, I'm just doing things my way from now on, screw everyone else!
@fourthnlast it sounds like a beautiful ceremony. I hope things start to become a little easier here on out for your family. Continued thoughts and prayers!
We have a neighborhood DQ about 5 houses down at the end of the block, and I've only eaten there like 3 times this whole pregnancy. If the RTT were to go to DQ right now, what would you order? Inspire me 8->

I would go to Coldstone!
The closest Coldstone is 80 miles away, or I'd totally choose that. All lovin' no oven for lyfe
I would get vanilla ice cream in a dish with cherry dip--when you get it in a dish instead of a cone, they pour in more of the dip and it makes this thick shell around the edge of the dish. OMG. I seriously just texted my mom to bring home frozen yogurt or ice cream. Here's hoping she does a good job picking a flavor because now my craving has become a full-fledged "all I can think about" thing.

Is there such thing as a butterfinger blizzard? Because that sounds good right now.
fireflygirl12 Your story completely cracked me up and I could totally see myself think the same thing. Spiders = huge fear of mine. I'll keep your nugget of advice close to my brain.
@kseccomb17 I could get a cookie jar blizzard...cookie dough AND oreo cookies. What!?

TMI, but S/O embarrassing calls to your Doctor...I totally just remembered that about 2 weeks after having DS1, I wiped after going pee and there were a bunch of small pieces on the toilet paper that seriously resembled mangled spider legs. I saved the TP and showed it to DH (which totally grossed him out) and as completely crazy as it seemed at the time, I was legitimately freaked out that a spider had crawled up my vag (since it was pretty much an open cave) and died in there. I totally emailed pics to my OB to which she replied, "um, not a spider, but those are your stitches." Apparently they hadn't dissolved like I thought. So, if you're worried pp that a spider died in your vag, probably not the case
Best. Story. Ever. I can't stop laughing!!! I would've freaked out!

FFC: I don't like ice cream. I would say it's from being from Alaska but I think Alaska is the top selling state for ice cream (seasonal depression)....

The lines for the DQ when it opened in Anchorage were ridiculous!

We have a TON to do, and I'm just kind of.....doing everything else, LOL! I need to pull out the bitty clothes, but then it seems like a waste since I don't know where I'm going to put them, so why wash them yet? Same for the PNP/Swing/Bouncer/etc.
About the only thing I'm gonna do is go to Target at some point this week, show them my registry print out, and get my $20 gift card. I also found a 20% off infant item coupon on their website, so I'll be putting that towards the RNP I want. Hoping that a cartwheel coupon will pop up sometime before it expires to earn even more savings.
How did you get a 20 dollar gift card? All I got was a crappy 10% registry completion and there isn't really anything I want!
I'm having a wicked praline/english toffee/some sort of buttery brown sugar flavor type ice cream craving. I'm going to try to curb it by making homemade butterscotch sauce and pouring it over vanilla ice cream. Or maybe I should just warm up some brown sugar and butter until it's the consistency of wet sand, and stir that into ice cream like a ribbon. what do you think?
Well butterscotch sauce is reeeeally easy to make... Though I only had light brown sugar instead of the dark it calls for, so I tried adding about 1/4 cup of pancake syrup in an attempt to add a more molasses-y taste... It came out as more of a salted butterscotch carmel instead of straight butterscotch, but was the EXACT flavor I was looking for. PERFECTO!

Also, say a little prayer for my DH tomorrow. He takes the CA Bar exam and if he doesn't pass, I might lose my mind.
