  • Ugh....i tried to go dress shopping last night for a baby shower I have this weekend and my shower which is next weekend. I went to old navy, target, and macys and they seriously had nothing. Zero dresses at Old Navy, only pants and tank tops. Target had a few dresses but they were either black or blue and just simple cotton Empire waist dresses that were nothing special. My macys doesn't do maternity at all! I ended up going to Ross because it's next to target and just got two normal person dresses 2 sizes up that I can wear with a belt and make it work. I'm really regretting not doing some online shopping when everyone was talking about shower dresses! Time to start planning now for my maternity shoot so i don't run into the same problem!

  • Pregsomnia needs to go the hell away. I have enough issues trying to sleep with heartburn, hip, and lower back pain, thank you very much. That or more people need to have it so I have more posts to read!

I can sleep until 3 or 4 but then I have to get up and sit up/move around for awhile because my body is SO sore from trying to sleep. No matter what position I'm in. I never imagined sleep would make me feel so bad!!

This too! Except at 3 or 4 I'm getting up to pee. Then again after 6, and again around 8ish. *sigh* I need to sleep with a catheter or something!

  • @KatieGummow Yes, of course. I'm going to up my qualifications in a few days by reading a few blogs, so, I'm definitely qualified to tell you, via internet, when you are in labor.

FYI- The answer is always yes.
Thank goodness. I appreciate all of this.

  • So question. After reading both my car seat manual and my car's manual I've come to the conclusion that I can either put the seat behind the driver or the passenger. Which place do I want it to be? Makes sense for putting the baby in the car to be behind me, but while I'm driving it might better to have her behind the passenger.

What was the medication you were on before? I've read that adderall actually slows down milk production. I am not sure about rit. I honestly don't plan on going back to meds :/.

Really good question! I would imagine behind you for in and out convenience, and you don't want to be reaching back there while driving anyways. I am not sure though! I am interested to read experienced mom's answers.

What do you take? I took Adderall in college and it saved my butt, but I had zero appetite, would go days without sleeping, and had dry mouth and would clench my jaw really hard. It was the only thing that worked, but I couldn't stand how I felt. I haven't taken it in years.

This is me only it also made me crazy as well, like suicidal. I went clean after college and manage it through exercising and cognitive exercises.

Mmmm it appears the info is conflicting about what can happen to the baby. I would wait to hear back from the doctor. Maybe instead of doing a time released drug you could do two doses per day and pump up a supply for when the drug is active?

  • I'm also taking into consideration the way my seats fold down.  I'd like to put the carseat behind the passenger seat so that the 2/3s of the backseat can still fold, but if it's too wide to allow the fold down, then it will go behind the driver so I can at least have 1/3 still fold.

I think it depends on how the seat will fit behind each seat. I am 5'9" with very long legs, and need my seat positioned almost all the way back so my knees aren't up in the dash/steering wheel, so the infant seat didn't fit behind the drivers side and we had to put it behind the passenger. Now DS's convertible seat fits just fine behind the driver seat, so that's where he is... And DD's infant seat will go back behind the passenger seat again.

My dr told me not while breastfeeding either. :-((
  • @colleenswerb thanks! I didn't realize the seatbelt was ok. I just figured the latch was better. My car manual just explains how to install in each spot, not which is the safest or best option.

I have the nesting bug so bad.  And I can't do much because of the SPD.  I just wish everyone else knew how utterly important it is to organize the kitchen shelves like I do LOL!
This is so me. I have so many things I want to do but physically can't anymore and it's making me crazy! Also, why does my husband think the coffee mugs and glasses go together on the same shelf with some random tupperware thrown in and what is the point of putting dishes into the dishwasher if you're not going to start it?
::hugs:: aronie82 It sounds so miserable to have SPD. There is one in my swimming class that has it, I feel so bad for her!
I can't do much because of my back problems, which may or may not be caused by baby but are at least made much WORSE by baby. And DH has a man cold, so, I'm stalled on my nesting doing little things. Its driving my brain mad!

  • i woke up this morning from a dream that i had posted something about kiddo's school and had put the name of his school in my post.... and someone googled it and somehow figure out my full name and details about my family (and inexplicably, somehow there was something about a prostitute in the middle of the story...  like i knew her, and she had made a post on the school's facebook page and tagged me in it, or something like that).  anyway....  i woke up all paranoid that i had been publicly outed on here by my fictional hooker friend :)
whoops that was me. I was trying to be all subliminal but you caught me!

  • although this fact is about 10 minutes from being untrue, it is nonetheless a fact right now:

our convertible car seat is installed in the center of the back seat, but there are no latch connectors in the actual center seat, so we attach them to the inside latch buckles for each of the window seats.  i highly doubt that's copacetic in the car seat installation world , but we do it anyway because we like kiddo to be in the middle (for selfish/visibility and safety reasons).

all that said...  i'm about to head to the garage to install the infant seat next to kiddo's convertible, so nothing will be occupying the middle seat space anymore.
  • I've just ruined my amazing spa day by burning my hand on the stupid steam thing in the shower. Booooooo. :(
