So my DH left this morning and will be gone until Friday. I will miss him like crazy, but right now I'm really excited that I got to make one of my favorite dinners! He hates it and claims he can't even handle the smell, so it's my special treat when he leaves for work.

My car got stuck in the alley on my way to my 34 week appointment. DD and I got to walk there in a foot a snow. Fuck.

So I'm cleaning my office the past couple days because you LITERALLY (not figuratively at all) could not see the floor. I have a box of ribbons for Christmas gifts and all of a sudden it hit me Im going to have to start storing holiday shit because I am no longer a college student moving from apartment to apartment and I have a child who is going to need Christmas ornaments and birthday wrapping paper and an Easter basket and all of this stuff! I'm excited and terrified at the same time

Feeling like I can take a deep breath. Completely fucking brutal weekend, the Funeral was the toughest I've been to since my Dad's funeral. My BIL was not only in the Air Force, but he was a firefighter in the Air Force, so my Brother's fire department performed the Fireman's Last Call at the service. I have never heard of it before, but basically they read some information about the symbol of the bell ringing and the brotherhood of the firefighters. At the end, they rang a big bell 3 times to signify his last call as a fireman. As the casket was exiting the Church, the Firemen saluted him and handed his helmet to his widow. My other BIL is a Major in the Air Force and as they put the casket in the hearse, he did the final salute. Heart breaking. As soon as the door shut, he fell to his knees sobbing. Thank you so much for your continued thoughts and prayers, hopefully I can have some RTT Bump time tomorrow and in the coming days, mama needs some good, happy times

I'm having a wicked praline/english toffee/some sort of buttery brown sugar flavor type ice cream craving. I'm going to try to curb it by making homemade butterscotch sauce and pouring it over vanilla ice cream. Or maybe I should just warm up some brown sugar and butter until it's the consistency of wet sand, and stir that into ice cream like a ribbon. what do you think?

Mmmmm..... butterscotch.  I think I have some butterscotch pudding mix in the pantry. I might need to go make that for dessert.  

Regarding your dilemma - I have no idea how much work it is to make butterscotch but if you're up for it, I vote for that.

In defense of the delivery driver, it's possible that he thought leaving it on the front step might be missed by someone pulling in (and presumably entering the house from) their garage.  Still, right in the middle of the driveway is uncalled for.  They could've left it up by the corner of the garage door. x.x
