@starphish18 Not sure how long you've been feeling this way but last week I had one day where it seemed like she was way down low and I got worried that she had flipped breech. All my  movements were low, my ribs were suddenly empty and I just felt different. I didn't ever get any groin or leg pressure though. Anyway, the next day she was right back up to kicking me in the lungs/ribs and was back where I'm used to feeling her. Not sure what that was about, but it sure was strange. Hopefully the symptoms of not being able to walk subside a little!

@starphish18 I could have written the same thing, and it makes me feel so much better that you're experiencing that too! Have you found any way to get relief? I find changing positions helps and putting my feet up. Also, I love my balance ball. My midwife suggested baths (for the buoyancy I think), but that's not really my gig normally. Might be worth a try though.

@jayandaplus It seems to only be bothering me when I'm upright (standing or walking). I haven't really found anything that helps with that. The past couple days, I did go for walks, but I don't know if that's helping (keep the area stretched out) or hurting. I'm going to try taking it easy today and see what happens. If I'm sitting down, I feel ok...I do try to keep my feet up when I can, cause I find overall that makes me feel better. I also like to keep my hips stretched open. I'm excited to get the yoga ball I ordered yesterday and give that a try, too! I don't know, I think it's just a combination of her maybe being lower and having a lot more strain everywhere...I'm probably leaning back more to compensate for the bowling ball on my stomach, I have a lot more weight pulling on my back and pushing on my legs, etc. I wish I had a pool and could go float for a bit.

Yes to the uncomfortableness of it all. Even though all those really acute earlier-in-preg symptoms have subsided (sore boobs, nose as a super power, wicked nausea and vomiting, food aversions), it seems like these last weeks are even more difficult to manage! Difficulty breathing, being kicked in the ribs, groin pain, and trying to make room for a bowling ball are really crazy tough. You're not alone and it's not forever!!
  • Options
So I'm having some pain/tightness on top of my belly like right under where my boobs are.  Sometimes it is from her pushing on me, other times, it seems like it comes from no where.  It is not in my lower belly/back.
Are these BH? Are these contractions?  Am I just BSC?
  • Options
@starphish18 Maybe tuck your pelvis in/make sure you're not letting your back bend a lot. Also, my PT suggested using your butt muscles (glutes) when you walk. It sounds funny, but if you practice in private, preferably in front of a mirror, it makes sense. Hope you find some relief!

@SKZW I still have the nausea and food/smell aversions. But I do think this is worse. I keep telling myself labor is worse, so enjoy this pain now.

@Jens_Hoes Most often, my BH start at the top of my uterus and sometimes they take over the whole thing and sometimes it just seems like the top half is made of concrete. Other times, Its just in one specific spot and I'm not sure if its a partial BH or if she's just all balled up in there. Why is pregnancy such a mind-f***? Mine have historically not been painful, though. But lately, as she's bigger, they're definitely more uncomfortable like she's taking up too much space that I can't breathe or move very well.
  • Options
@Jens_Hoes You're definitely not BSC. Like @ShadeofGreen816 said pregnancy is a mind-f***. I don't know enough to suggest one way or another what you're feeling, but I'd suggest increasing your water intake and trying to be less physically active and see if that improves the pains/sensation.
  • Options
@Jens_Hoes I get that feeling too! I always assumed they were BH.
  • Options
@starphish18 My legs have been feeling extra heavy lately too. I think baby did some more dropping last night, but who knows...

@Jens_Hoes My BH are always at top of my stomach. My "real" (according to Dr?) contractions are similar, starting at the top and kind of gravitating in/ down towards my belly button. Very menstrual cramp like and painful.

@Jens_Hoes mine this pregnancy feel like a rubber band right under my boobs is tightening then my whole belly gets hard. I feel a slight breathlessness with them when they are strong. Don't know what bcs is...
It was described to me this way bh and contractions are pretty much the same what makes real contractions realer than bh is how you feel. If they become more intense more frequent an apparent rythm has started you have actual trouble breathing through them then your having contractions and not just bh. Extra fluid resting on left side Tylenol and a bath cam help if your uncomfortable
My midwife told me last pregnancy Tylenol actually inhibits labor so now I'm so close to goal line I won't take it for anything

Thank you guys- I'll try to drink up here at work, and try to stay seated as much as possible, and hope they go away.

    @Yiggle09 BSC= bat sh!t crazy

To what @Yiggle09 said, that's basically what made my Dr. say the ones I had were "real". They grew more intense and they were uncomfortable and painful enough to make me change my breathing. Of course mine are still sporadic and keep fizzling, so not actual active labor, just pre labor.

RE: hemorrhoids, sorry can't remember who to tag, anyway I've had them off an on for awhile now. I think its because he has always sat pretty low and I've had so much pressure. I on occasion will have difficulty pooping (TMI), but usually its not too bad that I'm straining or anything, which makes me feel like the hemorrhoids are more related to the pressure from baby. I use the tucks pads and I have the prep H in my purse for at work. I don't think they've gone completely away, but have subsided. I'm going to talk to my dr about it tomorrow. I haven't tried a sitz bath...maybe I should try that too.

+whatever number it is for legs being sore, back sore, hips sore, only wanting to really stretch out on the bed because every other position is uncomfortable. I keep my feet up too and have been using my yoga ball more recently. I've been pretty tired most of this pregnancy, but for whatever reason (I blame baby getting bigger) I have been exhausted the last few days and I'm actually getting sleep! ugh...

@RainyDays86 @jayandaplus @BabyMC517 thanks, ladies! I have a fairly minor one (i had it before once and it went away in a couple of weeks with treatment) and i started tending to it immediately (first time i used Amazon Prime Now, i'm telling ya! lol) so the symptoms are fairly manageable now. I asked my OB today too and she says there's a tiny little chance they can go away before delivery but can't really count on it. *sigh* oh well, it is what it is (i use the prep H suppositories, wipes, and pads with witch hazel, and yes to colace).

I've been having "period" cramps and pelvic pain these last few days, is that normal? Anyone else? It's not high, it's exactly what I would consider a period cramp. I mentioned it to my hair stylist yesterday, and she responded in a manner that made me worry it wasn't normal. Wondering if other moms have had this. I've seen a few semi similar comments, so I'm not too worried but I was curious on other mom's thoughts.

*Baby girl is moving around like normal, and my next appointment is Monday.

@Cubslove12 - I have been getting some over the last 10 days or so, mostly in the evenings and mostly on days when I overdid it. I don't get them in waves, I just feel crampy. I would discuss with your doctor next time that you see him unless the cramps are prettt painful. Then I would call.

@Cubslove12 I have been having the same thing and had it last pregnancy a lot as well. It's basically braxton hicks contractions that hurt a bit more like a period. And individually, the contractions are pretty much indistinguishable from early labor. But you monitor them...if they keep coming, you're in labor (maybe). If they stop, you're not in labor. Apparently this happens more and more with successive pregnancies and the midwives warned me to say that I'd probably be getting a lot of false alarms given that I'm on baby #3. I remember feeling a bit this way with #2, but it could be worse this time. (I was also antsy because she was late, so when I approached my due date I was more ready for each contraction to be the start of labor. This time around I DON'T want to go early because of my work schedule, so every time I have this kind of contraction I'm writing it off as false, not the start of labor.)

@Cubslove12 I've been having these as well and my doc didn't seem worried, he said those are Braxton hicks. I have only gotten a few and it's usually when I don't drink enough water and am very active. I also don't get the stomach tightening just low period like cramps
  • Options
@Cubslove12 When I described that to my Dr. she said those were some early labor contractions. I had them again pretty badly Monday night and the timing was almost enough to make me think it was something for real. Well, that and combined that they were coming more from my back and gravitating forward and down.

Water...ever since I broke my water bottle on Monday I've been attempting to use the chinzy (I don't actually know how one spells that) 12 0z coffee cups and my intake has been AWFUL.

@nda_roxybabe You need a new water bottle! I have millions of water bottles. If I don't have one next to me I don't think I drink enough.

I totally do! I actually found a 32 oz mason jar (oops, glass again) and have been using that today. I'm about 32 oz behind for the day though haha

@nda_roxybabe Chug, chug, chug! Kidding. I keep telling myself I have to drink lots while BFing too, so this is actually practice. Especially with the summer coming, the heat needs to be combated. (You know already, because AZ is already boiling I'm sure.)

My feet and ankles are so swollen today! I'm guessing partly pregnancy fun and partly the stupid hot and humid weather! Oh and I'm having lovely stomach issues (it's like he knows exactly where to go to make me feel crappy) and a little more discharge than normal, haven't had a ton this whole pregnancy. Doesn't seem to be enough or look like my mucus plug...just discharge. Good times!

+1 for cramping. It's super annoying because with DD that's what my entire labor was like, the worst period cramps ever. I'm like.....did I over do it? BH? Labor? I agree that if anything seems timeable/gets worse to call.

Has anyone experienced night sweats postpartum? Every time I sleep, whether for a nap during the day or at night, I wake up so sweaty and sometimes freezing because of it. The room is warm to keep Jay warm, but it seems like something more than that. Maybe hormone related?

ETA: Shoulda googled first. Apparently, hormones are causing my body to rid itself of excess fluids from pregnancy.
I remember experiencing this after DD. It was awful! I think it lasted for a week, maybe two top? And with no central air at the time. I think I had a tower fan aimed at me, a light sheet and only a nursing tank top and undie on until it passed.

  • Options
@kns1988 yes, the night sweats are totally normal postpartum! Super annoying but doesn't last long if I recall.

@kns1988 get outta here, fluids!! I know it sucks but that's kind of an instant gratification!

Man, other than serious nesting I have had no precursory symptoms at all. I really hope it doesn't mean I'm in it for the long haul...

Uterine irritability contractions, BH, and terrible nerve pain in my right groin. It's so hard not to overdo it! I'm in super nesting mode too @sweaterboots and it drives me crazy to not be able to do everything.
  • Options
@sweaterboots Honestly, I think lack of symptoms doesn't necessarily mean you'll go late. From what I've read/heard/been told, labor often just happens without much warning. On the other hand, some people experience symptoms for a long time and go past their due date. A friend of mine was due Wednesday and she's had painful contractions off and on for  weeks now and no baby yet.

I dont have a ton of symptoms either and I'm just counting myself as one of the lucky ones for now.
  • Options
@jayandaplus I'm so sorry you're in pain and that your nesting instincts are being stymied :( I hope you get everything done that's you want to! And that your reward is a super easy delivery :)

@chocolatelemons I guess it's another one of those wonderful things about pregnancy that you just cannot predict...because why would a woman who's been carrying a baby for 9-10 months like a little predictability?! :P

@sweaterboots I had virtually no symptoms before I had DD. I went to bed with my clothes ready for work the next morning but DD had other plans. My water just broke out of the blue before I got up for the day. It was about a week before my EDD. Now that I have more "symptoms" this yime around I'm much more appreciative of how easy I had it the first go round. I know this is way easier said than done but enjoy the end of it while you can!
