UO: I think people should be able to post an UNPOPULAR opinion without people jumping on the first bandwagon to hitch a ride against them. Key word here: UNPOPULAR.
i don't even think the Scientologists are batshit enough to suggest not saving your baby with medical intervention. they just think you are supposed to be silent during the entire birth and then leave your baby alone for a day or something.
they also believe in a giant alien overlord named Xenu. so...ya know.
I think birth plans are awesome, I have had my entire plan written out since we first started ttc.
I don't agree with csections being considered births or deliveries, to me it's an insult to mothers that actually did birth their children. Csections are surgical extractions and should be referred to as such.
I'm dreading telling work I'm pregnant because I don't want people asking how I'm feeling everyday.
::lurking from F14::
Are you flucking kidding me??
Let me tell you lady, I gave "birth" with my vag to twins, 2 mins apart. With my second I had a section AFTER labor 4cm dilated for 4 weeks with inconsistent contractions! To finally get induced after I reached 39. I will be doing a RCS F14 and I am proud to say I thought more about the safe delivery of my child than the way it was given birth to.
NOW I've had both so because I had a section after my vaginal birth I am taking the credit from myself?
Have you ever had a c/s? They are not easy! It is major surgery. You do not just have a baby "extracted" then skip your happy ass out of the door like you do when you have a vaginal birth. It's hard enough having to go through the emotional struggle of going in for a vaginal birth and after giving it your all you leave after a c/s, but now we have people like you trying to make someone feel inadequate for saying we gave birth.
And in case you are confused:

It is #2 on the list. As a mom who has suffered miscarriage, I cannot fathom why anyone would knowing harm their unborn child. To me this is just as bad as "no Caesarian" lady.
The responsible thing to do is quit before getting KU. If she did suffer MC in the past, now we know why. All I'm saying is, take some responsibility...your creating a helpless human life!
Oh no you didn't!
Oh yes I did...read a medical journal. Smoking causes MC and still birth.

And what caused my stillborns and MCs, because I sure as hell didn't smoke till they happened to me.

I don't normally like to participate in this silly dramatic posts, but I would like to say that you are totally full of it. You have absolultey no clue what you are talking about. C-sections are not always by choice and sometimes done because the child's life is in danger. The way a child enters the world does not determine the birth's validity.

Blah blah blah. She's no longer harming her child so get the fuck over it.
And no, that's no where close to the bsc woman. Nice try though.

There's a difference between posting an unpopular opinion and being an asshole, which we've seen a lot of today.
When I found out that my son was going to be delivered via c-section I was devastated! I couldn't believe that I was going to miss out on the "natural" childbirth I had wanted so badly. But you know what, when it came down to a c-section or an extreme possibility of shoulder dystocia, I chose the safety of my child and never looked back. It's because of people like you that I felt ashamed of how my son was born. How dare you tell me, and other c-section mamas, that how our children were born shouldn't be considered births.
Seriously. Think before you write something. Do you have any idea how hurtful that was to read?

Have fun with Crazy Eyes.
Please tell me you mean the "Caesareans are cheating" lady or the "your miscarriage is your fault" lady. Jesus, even the "woo-hoo government shut down!" lady.

Dude seriously. I usually don't give a flying fuck about what strangers on the interwebs say about anything, but that stupid ass post just brought up all those feelings of shame and failure I felt. I don't know if I'm more pissed, at this point, at what a stupid cvntrag she is or the fact that such a stupid cvntrag is making me feel bad about myself.

You're a flucking twatwaffle. I hope you end up having an unplanned c section.
1. The miscarriage smoking lady...grow the F up. It is extremely horrible to say that she deserves a miscarriage. Also, CPS has a ton of more shit to take care of than a Mother who wasn't able to quit smoking for 9 weeks. Also, no one ever deserves to lose a child. No one.
2. To the "higher power lady", what sort of drugs are you on? Like for real? You have to be in a cult, because no religion that I know of would ever think it's okay to kill a child.
Lurking from A13. I'm so glad that I'll be able to wish my beautiful, ALIVE daughter a happy extraction day. After I went tachycardic and her heartbeat disappeared and came back at 30bpm, I went for an EMERGENCY csection. Not my plan, but it saved our lives. Redrose stfu. You're a mega douche.
Also, my C-sec ruled and I am stoked for my RCS. Suck it, @redrosepinkdaisy. No one is more "mom" than me just because they pushed a baby out of their vag.
I guess if they're doing those Pinterest bento lunches & shit, then they probably are.

@redrosepinkdaisy, I have not read through this whole thread yet but I'll leave this here just in case.
This is a story of a man, who was a firm believer of god.
One day it began to rain very heavily. It kept raining and a big flood came. The man climbed up on the roof of his house, and knew that he would be ok. God would protect him.
It kept raining and now the water had reached his waist. A boat came by and a guy in the boat said: “Hey, jump in. We will take you with us”. “No thanks”, said the man. “I’m a firm believer in God. He will rescue me”. He sent the boat away.
It kept on raining and now the water had reached his neck. Another boat came by and a guy in the boat said: “You look like you could need some help. Jump in and we will take you with us”. “No”, said the man. “I’m a firm believer in God. He will rescue me. Don’t worry about me”. The boat sailed away.
It still rained and the water now reached his mouth. A helicopter came by and a guy in the helicopter threw down a rope and said: “Hi there my friend. Climb up. We will rescue you”. “No”, said the man. “I’m a firm believer in God. He will rescue me. I know he will”. The helicopter flew away.
It kept on raining, and finally the man drowned.
When the man died, he went to heaven. When entering Heaven, he had an interview with God. After giving a polite greeting and sitting down, the man asked: “Where were you. I waited and waited. I was sure you would rescue me, as I have been a firm believer all my life, and have only done good to others. So where were you when I needed you?” God scratched his confused looking face and answered: “I don’t get it either. I sent you two boats and a helicopter”.
Many who believe in God or in Karma etc. somehow believes that signs of help and guidance comes as a big event of some kind, when actually it would probably come as small signs of help here and there along the way.
Listen to the world around you. You might just find the answer there.

Silly @redrosepinkdaisy, do you think c-sections are easy? How many people do you know that actually had them? Do you shun those women now?
What exactly about my choice to have a c-section so that my baby that I carried for 9 months and a few days didn't DIE insults you? If you need to call my baby's birth a "surgical extraction" to protect your sensitivities, go for it. I know when my baby was born and I thank and praise God that she is here, alive and healthy. I thank him for the amazing and wonderful medical professionals who dedicated their lives to learning how to assist with such complicated births as mine and many of the other amazing moms on TB, the BMBs, and specifically July '13 (I'm looking at you @MaryAnneSpier, @2012ames, @sdtchica13, and all the rest of you... you know who you are.) Without the wisdom that God gave these people, we might not have our amazing little blessings in our arms.
We all have our beliefs and for our family it does not include medical intervention or surgical procedures. I feel it's rude that members here have lashed out without knowing me, my background or any of my reasoning.
Wait. So what happens if your kid doesn't come out of your vagina? Are you prepared to kill yourself and your child?
In that situation we would place our lives in the hands of Our Highest Power. In a life or death situation man simply can not alter the intended fate, that can only be done thru divine intervention. If death was our intended fate it would occur irregardless of a csection.
Anyway this is an opinion post, several others have stated theirs so why don't all the critics go pick those apart too.
Sorry not everyone believes in modern medicine being the healer of all. We live as naturally as possible when it comes to medicine and we intend to follow our same path with this pregnancy. Apoligies to those who were offended, the choices I make may not be for everyone but they are mine to make and I own that.
Tell me, @redrosepinkdaisy, with these beliefs, how many babies do you know in your little group (cult) do you know of whose mothers are dead because of this belief? How many mothers do you know of in your group had to hold a cold, dead baby in their arms and bury that baby after a horrible, painful, or extremely overdue pregnancy? Do you need more than your own hands to count them? I hope you are never faced with the need to choose between your beliefs and your baby's well-being, because I'm afraid your baby might suffer from the choices you would make.
If death is your intended fate, why not go for broke and do everything you can to keep you AND your baby alive?

You are such a moron. You said that if she had miscarried then "I guess we know what caused it" insinuating that her smoking was the cause of her miscarriage. Blaming the mother for her miscarriage is sick. You are truly an asshole.
Addiction is a disease and incredibly hard to overcome. The fact that she overcame it when she became pregnant is something she should be commended for as many many women struggle with it while pregnant.
I can't believe there are people like you in this world. Same goes to C-section weirdo.
14 pages and I'm really the first to ask why BSC girl doesn't believe in modern medicine but is giving birth somewhere where a birth plan/ c-section is even an option?
Due with #5 April 22, 2015. It's a girl!!!!!
Yes it was planned, yes we know what causes that, no we are not on public assistance, and yes we will be getting cable after this.
