FWIW, I am a Christian. I am proud to let you know that. I am also proud that my God loves my unborn child, my God loves my child so much he let some women give birth/extractions to doctors so that they could make sure when giving birth it my child if something happened my child would get out safe.

He made doctors that if my son got sick he could be saw by a doctor to get treatment.

The one thing that is important in ANY birth plan is the delievery of your child in the safest way possible. For me that was delivering my son by c-section. I tried telling myself that this was the best option for the both of us. I was extremely depressed and felt like less of a woman for not delivering him vaginally. I have come to terms with what I had to do, but your comment makes you seem insensitive and uneducated.

Let me first say that one of our Mamas linked us to this board- I have never lurked this board, but she was very concerned about your post, and let me tell you, when I read it, it took my breath away. My daughter was born six weeks ago via C section- let me repeat- BORN- as in I gave birth to her. How dare you say that c sections are an insult to mothers that "birth their children." My daughter was delivered via c section because she was breech, and it would have endangered her health for me to deliver her naturally. 

Let me ask you this, if your LO for some reason has to be delivered via C section whether it be planned or because of an emergency situation, would you refuse it because it's not a real birth or refer to her being "extracted" rather than born? Birth plans are great, I had one too, but I found out two days after my due date that she was breech, and a c section was appropriate to keep myself and my LO safe. I highly suggest that if for some reason your birth doesn't go according to plan and you have to deliver via c section, either keep it to yourself here or stay off the boards because the amounts of "told you so's" will be overwhelming and completely justified.

-That link you sent does not list the items in level of severity, it merely categorizes them. (also it was number 3 on the list not 2)
-In the link you sent says smoking increases risk of miscarriage. If it caused miscarriage there would not be generations of women who (whom?) smoked and had healthy babies. This indicates that there have to be other factors, along with smoking to cause a miscarriage. Smoking a couple of cigarettes won't directly result in miscarriage just like a couple of cupcakes won't give you diabeetus.
- Also, it says SOME studies have found, not all.
