@flockofmoosen3 LOL sounds good. I was hopping to have the baby today because July 12 sounded like a nice date but then again so does the 18th since I am not in labor. So 6 days for me.
15 days u til due date and my second cervical check (first one no dilation) has me almost 3cm today. Dr did not check effacement. I feel oppppsite of what I’m reading here...everyone is hoping for baby now and I’m trying to hold her in until July WK 3, or at least after 5pm on July 23rd. Lot of stuff to do work wise up until that point, daycare starts Oct 29th so i need my LOA to start a certain day. Quickly learning it’s out of my control now
Looks like that lower back pain I was feeling yesterday was nothing. Had an appointment with my OB today, 1cm, no mention of % effaced or anything else and zero contractions.
I'm 39w4d today, we are scheduling an induction for next Thursday or Friday just in case.
Curious to see if anything happens between now and then. I had my second membrane sweep and just had some slightly blood discharge which I've never had before so now that gave me some hope lol.
@runsomewhere you and I are on the exact same schedule. I am also 39+4 today!
At my check yesterday I didn't have any dilation and she didn't mention anything about effacement either, booo. But she did say that my cervix was getting softer so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for labor this weekend (a girl can dream right?!). I'll be a pretty grumpy lady if I have to show up to work on Monday still pregnant. At least my next appointment is Monday afternoon and if I have dilated then we will probably try to strip the membranes and see if that kickstarts anything.
I’m finally checked in for my induction. I’m still 2 cm so we are going to do oral Cytotec soon, they let me have one last meal first so my H fan up to the cafe and got me a chicken quesadilla and chocolate milk shake. The midwife said I should go ahead and have the milk shake, they’ll be monitoring my blood sugar and giving me insulin as needed. I have to be monitored for 3 out of the 4 hours per dose of Cytotec but I’m glad I got the portable monitor so I can be mobile. Here’s hoping the Cytotec puts me into labor.
I was just cleaning and felt some kind of weird gurgling/popcorn popping feeling down low. Then I lost MORE (I swear I’m up to a solo cup amount) of my mucus plug. My undies and shorts feel damp but idk if it’s sweat or from the plug, or what. I’ve had a few contractions since but nothing regular, currently laying down and hoping for a gush when I stand up.
Afm...getting some tightness in my upper abdomen when I stand up and walk around. Also getting a punching feeling in my hoohaa region. Doesnt feel very good. I'm not holding my breath that it's time though.
@whiskeyandtrouble due date twins! I hope you end up not having to go to work past due! That's harsh.
@paytonpedro fingers crossed that this is it, I'm jealous of the activity you have going on in your pants lol
@SmashJam thanks! I'm starting to think it meant nothing. I took a nap (told myself I was tired because my body was preparing for labor lol). I woke up feeling comfortable with nothing happening at all.
Ugh. So nope. Probably just sweat and discharge. Also, pretty sure my body keeps producing mucus plug and it’s just falling out of me. Every single time I wipe there is a full finger sized amount. I never lost this much with my first.
Got my first dose of Cytotec almost 4 hours ago (they’ll give me a second in 15 mins) and I’m having contractions every 8-10ish mins but not painful. I’d say they’re still pretty mild and just uncomfortable. Also I really don’t like my nurse. She’s on til 7am she made fun of us for watching Jane the virgin, and when I asked if I could get off the monitor after 3 hours (because that’s what the midwife told me) she said “nope that’s not hospital policy, clearly your midwife doesn’t know our policy so I’ll go talk to her.” Ummm okay no need for the ‘tude.
@zande2016 ugh that sucks about the rude nurse. If she makes any other rude comments I’d ask to be assigned a different nurse.

38+5 and was 2.5 cm and "long" at my appointment this morning. She did a sweep and I've been uncomfortable all day. But not contractions or cramping or anything. I've gone overdue with my last two pregnancies (41+6 and 41) so I'm not counting on anything happening for a while.
Dam. An hour and 20 mins into my second dose of Cytotec and out of nowhere contractions went from 7-8 mins apart and mild to 2-3 mins apart and painful. I think shits starting to get real. Just as I was starting to doze off. So much for that. Trying to decide when to text my doula to come.
Had my 37 week check yesterday but was in way too much pain to climb the stairs to the laptop to bump... Despite the nightly contractions no progress - both the nurse and dr said "you need to just hurry up and have this baby" because although baby is doing great I'm doing worse and worse - can't walk and having 3+ cardiac episodes a day. BP was high for me (probably from pain level) but not high enough to warrant intervention. He said to call if I have bloody show/spotting and they can try to move up the date. Dr also said he was surprised I wasn't "more depressed"....um... 3 people have told me I should have cried more for them to move it up...um... Yes I'm in a shit-ton of pain with this hip/groin injury on top of my usual joint/chronic pain issues and yes I feel like I'm having a heart attack 3 times a day, but I'm 11 days from my c-section...After 3 months in this bed miserable 4 days doesn't make that much difference so not sure why people think I should be fighting to move it up... Especially since I don't like the dr's on call next weekend....
Had my 38 week appt today (at exactly 38 weeks). NST looked great. No real cervical change from last week. Still about 1cm dilated and 50% thinned out. He said my cervix is super soft so when I do go into labor it should go smoothly/fairly quickly. Stupid question: is effacement and the cervix being soft the same thing? Or no? I thought it was but he mentioned it being 50% thinned out but also very soft so that had me confused. I’ve had some cramping since my cervical check but I doubt it will turn into anything. I would love to go into labor this weekend but if I don’t then I need to hold out until next weekend because we have such a busy week!

I am 39+1 today and I think today has been the first time I have felt some more serious BH. I still wouldn't say I am having real contractions, but I am hopeful that these turn into something more this weekend. Fingers crossed!
I’m probably going to get sent home but currently in L&D. Came in because baby wouldn’t move. Baby’s heart rate when I got here was 200. She has calmed down but contractions went from occasional to back to back. Going to wait an hour or so and recheck cervix for changes.
My update- no change in cervix. But contractions aren’t even giving me any baseline break between. Basically it’s one contraction on top another. So admitting me and potential induction
So frustrated. Contractions are so close together but not causing any cervical changes. They can’t give me anything to help labor along because of how close the contractions are. So just keep monitoring is there answer. I hurt. I’m over it. I don’t know what the answer is and neither do they. They can’t send me home with contractions this close together they said.
Sitting here in L&D after being hooked up to a low dose of pitocin all night. Came in for the softening last night but I was already having minor contractions so they couldn’t give me the Cyotech. Now just waiting to see what the next step is. Baby should be here soon!
