@flockofmoosen3 I hear you on the third baby thing. My body is doing something different than it did with the others and I can actually feel my own cervix, which I feel is a change from last time when the midwives couldn't get to it at 40, but I haven't had a cervix check yet and won't until next Wednesday. So we'll see if my body has figured this out by the third time around or not!
No changes at my 40+1 appt. Induction scheduled to begin Friday night, with baby hopefully coming Saturday. Hoping she decides to make her appearance before then!

The end is near! 4cm and almost fully effaced, so if he doesn't come this week on his own they'll just break my water next Tues since I went so fast with DD and they're worried about me making it to the hospital on time once I hit 5cm. So glad I only have to put up with the start/stop contractions another week!
I'm all checked into the hospital. My doctor is currently delivering a baby, then is coming by to break my water. Contractions are every 8 minutes, but I think they've been that way for awhile. Hoping all goes smoothly and quickly today!
Due date came and passed. I had another sweep yesterday (by a very rough midwife because my obgyn is on vacation) and I had some cramping after but nothing else really. We scheduled an induction for Monday night, so by this time next week BABY WILL BE HERE!!! Really praying hard that I go into labor before the induction. I completely forgot that I predicted 7/13 (Friday the 13th) so we shall see!!
had my first check today - completely closed but about 50% effaced. I thought I’d be a little open due to all the lightening crotch!! Lol - opted to wait until next week for a sweep - just hoping I don’t come to regret that decision.
@paytonpedro I’m sorry you’re still pregnant. But yay for an indiction scheduled! Having a FOR SURE end date make it a little easier to stomach (for me at least).
@canucklehead123 I think the general consensus is that effacement is better than dilation so yay for 50%! Less work for your body to do once you’re in labor!
I had my last appointment today. I’m 3-4cm and a soft stretchy 70% effaced. Got my membranes stripped in a last ditch effort to get things rolling, so we’ll see. I don’t like the doctor that’s on call on Friday so I’d rather go in on my own tomorrow butttt we’ll see. Not going to hold my breath. Induction hopefully early Friday morning. They said if I’m having contractions they might start by breaking my water. If not they’ll start pit and then break my water.
@hillbillywife I don’t like the on call dr that’s going to be at the hospital on Saturday when I’ll have my baby either. (Starting cervadil Friday night, pitocin sat morning) But it was either that or wait until Monday night to start everything. I’m trusting I’ll mostly be dealing with the nurses during everything and not so much the OB until the very end?

Good luck @MichelleAG05 and @zande2016! Lots of babies will be born by the weekend it seems. Thinking of all of you kick ass ladies and sending good vibes for a smooth delivery!!
@rachelsogo completely feel the actual OB does not matter from my experience - 99% of the interaction I had was with the nurses. The hospital on-call OB popped in to talk plan of care a few times and check in, and then when it was actual push time NONE of my dr's were available and I had rando dr's from the hospital for actual pushing. Granted I didn't push for 2 hours like some women, but I found during go-time it didn't matter who was catching, my mind was in a happy place and it was the nurses who did 99% of the work.
AFM currently sitting here playing the "was that gush AF, discharge, or pee?" game while on a conference call.... pinged DH to stay close to his phone just in case and he said he's going to be so mad at me if my water broke and I just kept sitting here participating on a conference call... I don't think I'm having contractions or anything though....
@SmashJam i was able to "run" to the bathroom between calls and can't figure out what it was... DH thinks it was wishful thinking to get out of this 130 call going on >_< there was something that could have been MP in the toilet but was rushing and didn't go searching... still no contractions but he's going nuts in there right now! I forgot how annoying this game is >_<
I've had on and off pain/cramping in my lower back for the past 2 hours which I haven't experienced before. I'm trying to determine of this could be the start of something or if it's just a new pain since I'm days away from being 40 weeks.

@Sarafuss thanks, I'd be so excited it labor started on its own! I'm doing some squats while picking up the house and putting away laundry and bumping from my yoga ball.

Got back from OB appointment. Now 1.5cm dilated, still 70% effaced, however now stationed at a 0. Baby is measuring approximately 7.5lbs. Although she couldn't get measurement of babys head because it's so low in my pelvis. So OB said we are literally just waiting for consistent contractions and/or water to break. "Any day now". I asked about all the in "walking, sex, spicy foods, oils, bouncy balls, etc." To help induce. OB said not one specific thing is going to help induce. If I'm comfortable with trying them, it wont hurt, however not to get my hopes up. I told her I'm not comfortable with sex and she said she doesnt blame me. Also, that H would DEFINITELY feel baby's head because of how low she is. Pretty much was told baby will come when she is ready. So I'm over here laying on back at an angle and enjoying the a/c because that's the only comfortable position. My mental state is on the edge because of how much of a mind game this is. However, taking it day by day.
@gingerbride26 not to add to your mind games but when my water broke with DD I literally felt no contractions. I was 3 cm dilated upon being admitted and 80% effaced and solid consistent contractions showed on the monitors but I was feeling nothing. I had no doubt my water broke because after 2 small gushes the entire water burst.
@kbernal2021 yea i super can't figure out what the f my body is doing - still feeling super wet and every so often a market increase in wetness all at once - not sure if it's just an uptick in watery discharge and I'm so swollen it comes out in groupings instead of slow and steady? I'm trying to ignore it as long as it's clear and there's no spotting/pink because while I was asleep when my water broke last time, I def remember it was pink!
Not to be totally gross but when my water broke I had little spots of white throughout but overall it was clear. There was some pink to it but I chalked that up to being leftover from my bloody show which came with my water breaking and the rest of/regenerated MP that was brown.
I have had contractions start and stop 3 times today. Each time, 4 or 5, 10-12 min apart, I feel super off, crampy, etc. Last contraction hits and then nothing. I feel totally normal. Three times! What a tease.
Seriously though- I have pains that are spaced out but there more like she is boxing my cervix rather than contractions. Hopefully I’m not ignoring labor signs
Nightly contractions have started again today. They’re definitely uncomfortable but I refuse to get excited about them. I also don’t have enough motivation to go for a walk or anything like that.
Seriously though- I have pains that are spaced out but there more like she is boxing my cervix rather than contractions. Hopefully I’m not ignoring labor signs
That’s what’s happening to me right now. Having crazy painful cramping/tighteninglightning crotch, but only really when I’m standing up. Not sure what to think? DH just finished packing our hospital bag and brought everything to the front door

Headed to an OB appointment this morning. 38+1, currently 2cm dilated, 80% effaced. We'll see where I measure up afterward. Ditto on cramps, tightening in tummy, increased stool, the constant obsessing over whether or not it's a contraction or BH... I just want to meet my son!

Mine use to be only when walking but last night I was sitting / laying down
Just got back from my OB appointment. I'm 38w3d. I made no progress from last week where I was 2cm dilated and 60% effaced. I think I am just going to try to plan a million things to do so I can keep my mind off of this insane waiting game. After the appointment I was updating DH and he asked if the doctor gave me an ETA. LOL....NO
@SmashJam and @hillbillywife yea i had prodromal labor with DD for a month - nightly contractions that got to 5/1/1 and would then just stop. I'm now on week 2 of it with this kid but they're not quite getting to 5/1/1 and don't get more intense or closer so I just ignore them. When not having my nightly issues I'm still having general crampy uncomfortable miserable feelings and periodic feeling that i'm having a damn heart attack where my chest gets all tight. I'm back to being convinced this kid will be born in the foyer on the way to the car because I won't know it's really go-time. @kbernal2021 never gross/TMI - i freaked out yesterday after peeing there was white shreds floating- then realized it was a public toilet that demolishes TP and lets it float back up to top >_< def still have not had a BIG release of fluid, just continuing to feel super wet all the time with the same small flutters/gushes I've been complaining about off/on for months even if I just peed 30 sec ago. He's still moving well though he def seems to have dropped again/further. Have OB check at 345 today.
My membrane sweep on Tuesday did NOTHING, even though I tried more nipple stimulation that day. I'm at work again today. I asked my 4yo when she thinks baby is coming and she said the 14th. So...two more days?
gingerbride26 the same thing happened to me on my way to work this morning. Except all the sudden I got really bad period like cramps, got to work and felt a gush. Went to the bathroom and it was deff a part of my mucus plug- small amount but the cramping is still pretty intense. No contractions yet and no bleeding/spotting but the cramps deff hurt.
Debating if and when to call the doctor. I never really bad period cramps so not sure if this is normal.
So at my appointment today I was 2 cm and 60% at. -2 station. I knew last night something had to have been happening. The good news is I won’t need cervical riping agents at induction next week just start the pitocin.
