@zande2016 I lost my MP this morning. It was thick and mucusy, but no signs of blood or anything. I’ve been crampy all day, but no contractions I don’t think. I’ve been obsessively checking for blood or water or more plug or anything ever since!
TTC History:
Me: 36 H: 40 Married 2015. Together since 2010. TTC: Sept 2016-Oct 2017 BFP Oct 2017. DD born July 2018. TTC: March 2020. BFP March 2020 Due date was Nov 2020 DS born Sept 2020. DS passed away Nov 2020 due to prematurity and birth trauma. TTC: March 2021 IUI #1 Nov 2021, BFN IUI #2 Dec 2021 BFP. MC Jan 2022 IUI #3 Aug 2022 BFN IUI #4 Sept 2022 BFN AMH test came back at .081. Was going to move on to IVF with DE, but have decided not to. Will be leaving it up to the universe now.
@zande2016 I didn’t see my bloody show at all with my 1st birth. This time I only saw it after my water broke and I continued to lose more as I dialated. I lost pieces of MP every now and then after 3cm, but I’m guessing it regenerated
@brookp I’m 39+2. I read it’s really uncommon to not have any bleeding because dilating causes blood vessels in the cervix to pop, so I guess I just haven’t dilated enough yet for that to happen. It makes sense that for some that may not happen until they’re in active labor. I just need more signs my body is doing something so I can see a light at the end of the tunnel
I'm so frustrated! I had contractions, kind of intense but far apart (like 20 minutes) for about an hour, they fizzled into cramps and now BH. I was so excited for something but this never happened to me with my other pregnancies so I guess its still a good sign!
Also I can reach my cervix, which hasn't been possible in past weeks, although barely.
@zande2016 I didn’t lose my MP or have any spotting until after my water broke and I was in active labour with my twins. No blood this time yet but I think I’ve lost the majority of my mucus plug. I’m interested to see where I’m at tomorrow when they check me.
@zande2016 I have had brown, red, and pink tinged mucus (plug) coming out since last weekend and still no contractions. I even thought the red and pink i got on Friday could have been bloody show, but I think I was incorrect on that. Today was the first time I have had a lot of daytime BH but I could tell they weren't a tell for anything. Guess I will be going to work tomorrow
Mamas who have given birth- did any of your babies get really active during early labor? I’ve been having timeable, yet inconsistent contractions for like 3 hours and baby is a wild man in there. Making it so much more uncomfortable.
@hillbillywife my baby was super active in there before I went into labor and was only 2 cm dilated and then when my water broke she was equally as active. The nurses had to keep coming in to readjust the monitor because she was moving so much they couldn't track her heartbeat. Once my husband got there I was 6 cm and she was born 30 minutes later so in the time from 6 cm to fully dilated I really dont remember how she slowed down because things moved so fast.
Ok @kbernal2021 I was freaking out last week because LO was being really sleepy and now I’m having all these contractions and he’s going crazy and I was thinking it couldn’t be labor because babies are supposed to slow down before labor. Lol. Such a mind game! Gonna try and sleep and see what happens.
I thought I was losing some mucus plug yesterday but now I'm not so sure. It wasn't anything huge, just white mucus with maybe a hint of yellow. Looked like something I'd blow out of my nose during a bad cold. No blood or anything.
I still couldn't tell you what early contractions feel like. The first contraction I ever felt with DD was AFTER 12 hours of pitocin + having my water broken. Perhaps my body's contraction mechanisms are busted
@hillbillywife I've been told/ read that babies flip to the exact opposite of their normal movements right before or in labor. I can't remember with DS, but this normally chill little dude is keeping me up tonight so maybe?
So, I feel so bad that you ladies are frustrated and confused, but can I just say it's really nice to have other mamas who are in the same boat right now? I'm fairly certain I lost my MP about 1.5 weeks ago. I mean, what else a glob of mucus like substance be, right? But I never lost it with DS so it didn't even register with me until well after. Plus, no blood. Then a couple days ago I totally thought my water had broken because I felt that exact same bubble wrap-like POP! deep in my pelvis, but no gush like wish DS, just (TMI) watery discharge since. Is that a thing? Because I'm officially confused. Labor with no contractions. That's about how I'm feeling right now. Cue cramping, bad hip/ back pain, insomnia, baby foot down at belly button instead of rib, [insert every other labor indicator except actual contractions here.]
And to top it off, DS woke up in his room (he'd Fallen asleep in my bed and I moved him) so he was being fussy on the floor in the living room in retaliation and I'm pretty sure the little mouse we've been having trouble with ran by because he started screaming and shaking, and an hour later he still won't let me leave break contact with him. He's currently "sleeping" pressed into my back. I feel so bad, but mama needs to go potty and take a shot shower (at 3:30 AM) to try and stop my hips and back from their attempt at quickly killing me. Sorry for the angsty novel.

@SmashJam thanks! Made it through the night. I didn’t stay up to time them and hey didn’t keep me up even though I’m sure I felt some through the night and I’ve had several this morning too. I guess we’ll see.

looks like I'm a lucky mama having prodromal labor again with this one too. Every night cramping/contractions/feeling like labor for hours. So flipping uncomfortable and annoying.
@zande2016 I vaguely remember having bloody show and then still not going into actual labor for over a week with DD
@gingerbride26 I swear that happened to me on Friday night. My doula and doc both told me with DD that it was okay to take benadryl (because if I truly was in labor my adrenaline would override it), so I took a half dose on Friday night to get some sleep.
I lost my MP around 37 weeks and nothing other than lots of cramping that weekend. Now my due date is tomorrow and nothing. I'm pretty sure I already mentioned this, but I'm convinced that my cervix still has scar tissue from my LEEP in 2008 and that it will never be able to dilate on its own.
@MichelleAG05 my OB has had me taking unisom for sleep this whole pregnancy. This time my daily fake-out labor seems to be between 8 and 11 so luckily it's not affecting sleep more than the peeing every hour and hip pain - but DH gets jumpy while i'm wincing and breathing funny and squirming during DD bedtime routine and adult TV time. Today i'm just generally miserable/uncomfortable but then again still have this cold a bit and DD had me up at 3 am screaming for daddy (who obviously slept through it) for no apparent reason.
39+1 today....no progress from last week (still 1cm and barely effaced despite losing my mucus plug and having nightly contractions). Had another stretch and sweep today, planning for induction at 41w if she’s still a no show.
Saw my doctor today at 38 w1. I'm 2cm and 60%. Last visit I was long and closed. I been having contractions all day but like 15 min apart. Dr thinks I'm having the baby this week. C'mon contractions! Bring the pain. I'm ready to GOOOOO. Also I had a growth sono and baby weighs 7lb 8 oz.

I’ll have a contraction if ive been sitting or lying down for a while, get up to pee, and then return to sitting/lying down. I’ll start to feel weird on the toilet and then feel the peak of the contraction once I’m back to the seated/lying position. This will happen once or twice in a day... anybody else have this? It’s so weird!!
@canucklehead123 I feel like my contractions are pretty much only when I've been laying down. If I walk around, I feel like they go away or I can't feel them as much. So when I have one, I'm like, I am never moving, bring it onnnnnnn!
Verdict is in...final cervix check pre induction, 2 cm and cervix is thin. I have to wait around tomorrow for the hospital to call and say I can come in, could be anywhere from 5 pm to 1am, awesomeeee. Here’s hoping the membrane stripping I had today will do something but I am most definitely not getting my hopes up. So many emotions right now.
@zande2016 I hope the sweep sends you into labor! But if not it sounds like it's good that they have you coming in for cervadil/cytotec right? With my 3rd baby they gave me one dose of cytotec and I went into labor after that and didn't need pitocin. So I hope that you have an easy induction process if you do have to go that route!

@Sarafuss yeah I guess it’s better to go in for ripening and hope that eitjet cervidil or Cytotec can do the trick. I’ve read such mixed things about Cytotec that scare me but the midwife said she prefers it over cervidil because it’s more effective at putting you into labor. She also said we could try two things like foley for dilating plus cervidil/Cytotec. She said we’ll discuss and decide everything together once I’m checked in. I’m glad they aren’t just making decisions for me like last time but still anxious. And apparently my hospital has ONE portable monitor that can be used if I’m put on pitocon so I can still be mobile and even use the tub, but I am super nervous about whether we’ll be able to claim it when we get there or if someone else will be using it.
@zande2016 FX that the sweep will help get things going. And if not I hope that whatever path is taken you can have peace about and have a wonderful labor and delivery!

Had a little bit of a fiasco bc the hospital location I have been going to was full and we were diverted to a different one. We go to kaiser so there are different locations all over LA. Was admitted and 3cm when checked. Baby will be here within 12 hours!

Had an appt today at 38+1 and still 0 cm dilated (wowza did that cervical check hurt) Officially my last appt with my doctor and nurse My nurse gets married on Sat so they are both on vacation until the 23rd (my due date) and I will be seeing my Nurse Pract from here on out.
Doc said next week she will have my nurse pract do a membrane sweep as long as I'm thinned out. Been having a funky odor down there but no loss of MP yet. Wicked trouble sleeping- getting up every hour or so to pee.
Anyone else getting SUPER anxious? I am such a planner and have no idea what to do with the next 2 weeks. Everything is packed, set up, washed and ready to go. Now I just sit and wait? I'm already going stir crazy haha
I've been having irregular contractions since yesterday. They started around every 15 min. Now they are like every 7-9 min. It's such a mind freak. I lost a bit of MP. Im so confused. Is this early labor, false labor or What?

good luck @krystlerr! babygagnon2018 I had a lot of anxiety attacks near the end with DD due to all the hormones and crap sleep. Deep breaths, if you can find an activity that relaxes or centers you make time for it.
@babygagnon2018 I am anxious about labor, and I've done it twice! And agree with @gingerbride26 just find something to take your mind off the baby and waiting that relaxes you. It's hard, but you can't plan for this and you have to surrender to that idea!
@zande2016 sounds like you will have some input in this induction which is awesome, and hopefully making your feel a little more relaxed about it. Fx that you go into spontaneous labor a la @noideawhatshesdoing on your induction day and you won't need it!
+1 for being anxious. I am a planner too and just want to know when it will happen. It is worse when I get an extra crappy night of sleep.
I am 38+5 today and was 2 cm and 50% effaced. More progress than my first when I wasn’t even dilated at 40 weeks but trying not to get excited because it just means progress. I just want to go home and sleep.
This pregnancy is such a mindfuck for me after having my twins at 33+3. I was so anxious to get to 36w, and now it feels like that was forever ago. I’m feeling so impatient now, because I totally anticipated going early but it reaaaally doesn’t look that way now.
Had my 39 week appt today and I made no more progress in dilation and effacement. At least I got a membrane sweep today and I am hoping that it helps like it did last time. Otherwise my OB said I can induce this Thurs or wait until the 21st, her on call days. I really hope it doesn't come to that but who knows with my body just not having any real contractions. I thought that by the third baby my body would just make it happen!
