Re: It's Labor Time!

  • I hope things get easier for you @elizabethrn87 and they figure something out! and @rachelsogo hope the rest of your labor goes smoothly!
  • Loading the player...
  • yay @flockofmoosen3! I hope this is it for you and that all goes well (and you get to greet your sis)!
  • I’m back at home. Was told to come back when pain is 10/10. I am thankful the contractions slowed down. They were mentioning placenta abruption at one point and that sent me into panic.

My my current mindset is I’m making it to Friday when I’ll be induced. Only going back if my water breaks. i did just start throwing up though- blah.
  • Yay @flockofmoosen3!! I hope thingsmoving along but you get to see your sister too!

That sounds awesome @rachelsogo, now I'm contemplating packing my HP blurays for the hospital lol

  • Do u ladies remember if you could feel your babies moving between contractions? My contractions are close together now, probably about 4min on avg, and I haven't really felt her today. Last night she was all over the place. I think I will call triage to see if they want her to be monitored but I just can't remember if this is typical or not.

  • @rachelsogo best wishes! I'm jealous!

Still no contractions for me as far as I can tell. I'm losing more pieces of of my MP, baby was insanely pushy and active last night. It hurt and my belly was hard from all the pushing out she was doing but I don't think I felt any contractions. I woke up super stressed and and bitchy this morning. I don't know what's wrong with me.

  • @flockofmoosen3 I couldn’t necessarily feel her between.
  • I called the doctor to ask if feeling the baby once today was normal and she said to come in for monitoring! So...off we go as soon as we finish packing and my friend comes ove

  • Well, no baby this weekend. So, looks like I’m being induced tomorrow night (unless by the grace of God I magically go into labor before). I feel like my body have failed me, again. The only thing I wanted was a spontaneous labor.
  • @paytonpedro I'm sorry! I feel your pain. i'll send labor vibes your way and hope you wake up with baby ready to go! If not, I hope its a smooth induction!
  • @paytonpedro wishing you happy labor thoughts!! I was 100% sure I would never go into labor on my own and somehow it happened. All of my good vibes headed your way! Regardless of how he gets here, I hope it’s a good experience!

AlwaysMrsS right there with you - going on week 3 and every night is worse. Of course my least favorite dr's are on call this weekend so I'm sitting here willing him to stay in another week so I can get the dr I picked.  Even today, every movement feels like crazy cervical pressure and i'm like "dude - it's not a bounce house and that's not your designated exit!"

  • Yesterday was my due date. We ran around an amusement park with DD, walked around and shopped afterwards and went out to eat, then I bounced on my yoga ball. Still not a single sign of labor in sight, I'm not even uncomfortable.

I don't think my due date is off, I got a positive pregnancy test on November 1st and I've had 8 ultrasounds, baby has always measured on track and in the 50-67th percentile for size.

  • To sweep or not to sweep?

Hey y’all. I fully confess to being somewhat active in this board and then just straight up lurking. You have all proved to be invaluable as a resource and I’ve loved seeing all the birth announcements?

Im 41 weeks today and opted to schedule an induction for tomorrow. No one has pressured me to do this, but I’ve had zero contractions BH or otherwise and no clear indicator that she’s going to come on her own. I had my first cervjcal check last week and asked for a membrane sweep and they did. I was 2 cm and 60 % effaced. I have since tried evening primrose oil, strongly brewed raspberry leaf tea, castor oil, etc with no luck at a “natural induction”. My plan was always a spontaneous labor with as little interventions a simple possible. This is my first born.

My question is this, would you all advise an additional membrane sweep today with my induction appointment in the early AM? Could it actually help or at this point should I just wait for the induction ?

Any other additional advice or experience with any of it would be helpful. I’m a bit apprehensive of the pitocin since that was something I was trying to avoid for so long. Thanks.

I had an appointment this morning where I was 2-3 cm dilated and 60% effaced.  That's an improvement from last week's 1cm and 50%.  Because I'm progressing on my own, my doctor is comfortable scheduling an induction for a few days after my due date, which is the 24th.  Hopefully I will go on my own before then, but if not, I'll be induced on the 26th or 27th.  I'll have the exact date and time later today.  It feels good to have a end point set!

  • @natalie_1989 I don't think another sweep would be a problem. If the best it can do is further your progress towards dilation and effacement that's a good thing right? Good luck!

@amdftw yay for progress! Having an end date can definitely be reassuring.

  • @runsomewhere Looks like we are both past our due dates now, boooo! I hope your little one decides to make some moves soon!

Yesterday was the first day I started to feel kind of bad and last night was the first night I've had where I just got horrible sleep.  But I'm looking at the silver lining that maybe that means baby is making his way.  Had an appointment today (40+1) and everything looks perfect in there, so we have decided to give him until Sunday to come on his own.  If he makes the (unpopular) decision to remain I have an induction scheduled for Sunday evening.  While it is nice to have a real end in sight we are still keeping our fingers crossed we can get this show on the road on our own!!

  • Good luck @paytonpedro! I hope your induction goes smoothly .

  • @canucklehead123 I hope its your water and that contractions start soon! Or that you figured out it was just ass sweat and were able to go back to sleep. The guessing game sucks!
  • That's exactly how my labour started with my twins @canucklehead123
