@kbernal2021 i was only checking at 36 wks because i was complaining about cramping. Well nurse said to go into L&D. Babysitting is a lifesaver coming over to stay the night. Here i go ladies! Crap these things are painful!!!
@stlmegs you're not alone. I haven't seen any either. Babe seems perfectly content to stay in there and it's like my body didn't get the memo that he can come out now.
@stlmegs I haven't seen something that i'm 100% yup that's MP though there's been a lot of strings of mucus with no blood tinge that I've thought were my MP shredding slowly over time and regenerating just to be an a-hole.
So after 2 hours of 10 min apart contractions last night, I got more cramping and painful baby moves this morning with increased general wet feeling and increased "is he falling out?" feeling if I stand up - and of course the contractors have had 1000 questions today that I've had to go up and downstairs for >_< OB moved my thursday appointment to today at 230 and I said i'd stay in bed...oops... bright side I had the best BM in a long time this morning. I'll take any little win about now.
@noideawhatshesdoing and @julybabybear looks like we might be the first of the group to be entering the land of overdue blues. I'll cross my fingers things start moving for you ladies!!
I think @acunamatada is due in the next couple of days too.....is that right or did I just make that up?
Meagan Married 6.12.10 DS 11.8.12 Baby GIRL! due 7.4.18
No mucus plug action whatsoever over here. I leak a lot of pee, but other than that, not much going on down there!
So I am officially scheduled for induction on Thursday 7/12, the day before my due date. If I'm not "ripe" yet by my appointment next Tuesday, they'll have me go in Wednesday night for cervical ripening - probably cervadil. Then Thursday we may try breaking my water before pitocin, but looks like that's my final eviction date at 39+6, the longest my doctor wants me to go. I am relieved he was happy with my sugar control and baby's size, so he's comfortable waiting those 6 extra days.
I'm 1.5 cm, -2 station, and just a little thickness left. Midwife was finally able to do a sweep. She said she wouldn't be surprised if I had my bloody show today, or it could very well go until induction date. There's really no telling. Acupuncture in a couple hours, mission get baby the eff out continues.
@zande2016 I'm glad he's letting you go to 39+6! Mine is scheduled then also (but that's not until 7/26). Fingers crossed the sweep works and you go on your own though!

Tell me more about this cervix lowering thing. Is that the same as station? My doc has said with both my kids now that they have to "climb" their fingers up the head to reach my cervix. I digured it was because they had already dropped but now I feel confused!
39 weeks today. DD keeps asking when her baby brother is coming out. LOL
@zande2016 well its awesome that they aren't talking about induction this week, I know you were worried! I hope the sweep and acupuncture do something so you don't get to be induced, but glad they are gonna do cervadil and water breaking before the jump into pitocin!
I also still have my MP. I only lost it with DS, with my second pregnancy I did not. But it was way late in the game I remember being excited because it was the first sign something might happen...then nothing did, lol.
I've never seen MP with any of my pregnancies. I keep checking for it and have had some stringy CM and just an increase in discharge in general but no MP yet. I feel like baby really dropped the other day because I look super low and I went from feeling pretty good to super uncomfortable waddling and feeling a lot of pubic/pelvic pain and pressure. I'm hoping that means I'm making progress. I guess we'll see at my appt on Friday!

@MichelleAG05 your cervix changes position as your body gets ready for labour. It starts posterior (back) for most of the pregnancy, then moves midposition and finally anterior (front) when it’s baby time. Station is where the top of baby’s head is in relation to your lower spine/pelvis.
+1 for still having a MP camp over here. I didn’t lose mine until I was in labour with my twins so I’m not expecting to see it early anyways.
@zande2016 glad they're giving you a stepped plan you are comfortable with - hoping the cervadil is as effective for you as it was for me with DD - 3 hours into a 12 hour cervadil I was in active labor, 5 hours in my water broke spontaneously, and 6 hours in she was born. Just don't let them forget to take it out - I progressed so much faster than expected they had to kind of dig it out from behind her head right before pushing which was not cool - not typical but so not cool.
@comealongponds - thanks! That's how I remembered the stations, but definitely didn't know that about the cervix. Guess I'll find out Thursday if it's moved forward at all, but it was definitely still towards my back at last check. Very interesting......
very happy to report it is NOT labor time lol no real progression from a couple weeks ago (still about 1.5 cm and 40%, thick but baby engaged), had an NST and fluid check to be safe since little man has been a lazy bones lately and all looks good.
Still a whopping 3cm, no change from 2 weeks ago but they think my labor will be good... whenever it actually happens. Baby looks good and is measuring 8 lb 5oz +/- a lb.. Bigger than DS but she’s also over a week later than he was... and counting! My MW wouldn’t even talk induction until my next appt Monday . So disappointing.
@acunamatada I’m sorry for no progress and no end date...but at 3cm maybe all it would take to kick start labor is breaking your water. Here’s hoping baby decides to come soon!
37 w2. I was long and closed at my appointment this morning. Dr felt belly and did an office ultrasound. She thinks baby is measuring big. I'm going for a growth U/S Monday but the dr said it wont change anything. I had a csection and a VBAC. My Dr won't induce for size. I asked her how long past my due date I will wait and she said 42 weeks. I asked if it would be a CS at that point or induction and she said let's cross that bridge when we come to it. Anyone have thoughts or experience with this? The thought of going to 42 weeks with an oversized baby is intimidating and IDK if I would rather try induction or just do another CS at that point.
@brookp I have double experience with a large baby and going overdue-way overdue, all the way to 41 +5 with both of my previous pregnancies, and had to be induced. With DS, they said he wasn't large and he was 9lbs 5 oz but I didn't have any growth scans so they were guessing. With #2, also no growth scans but we assumed big and she was 8 lbs 4 oz. This time, I'm measuring 80th percentile and am expected to go overdue again. While its definitely a mind ef, I wouldn't sweat going overdue by that much with a baby measuring large as they can be off by a good amount. Also, its not written in stone that you'll go to 42, but in my experience if you go that far over they will give you another scan to check fluid and placenta and all that after 41 so they might have other reasons to induce before 42 weeks. There is also a chance if you're progressing at 41 that they'll induce you then, lots of OBs are fine with inducing at 41, my midwife is only letting me go to 42 because I asked. How far over did you go with your VBAC?
Also, FWIW, both babies being pretty big I only had a second degree tear and was unmedicated, and had a pretty decent recovery, so the overdue-ness and largeness didn't wreak too much havoc on my body! This can be different for everyone obviously just trying to make you feel better about a big, late baby!
@SmashJam thank you for this. I went to 40w5 witth my VBAC baby. He was 8 lb 8 oz. My Dr feels strongly that spontaneous labor produces best possible outcomes, which I agree with, but I am so uncomfortable and nervous about delivering a big baby. I'm wondering if I should request a CS at 39 weeks. Just tap out. But the main reason I wanted a VBAC with my 2nd is bc I found the CS recovery really rough so I don't want to lose sight of that either.
@brookp I've had 2 c sections now and with the first, the recovery was rough and painful (like, I needed help to get out of bed). So far at almost 3 weeks PP, the recovery for this c section is a breeze! Nearly pain-free and I was cleared to lift my 30 lbs DD, which hasn't been an issue. I need to remind myself to take it slow bc it's been easy to forgot I had major abdominal surgery!
I'm not advocating either way, just wanted to let you know that just bc the first recovery was rough doesn't guarantee that it will be the same if you end up having another c section.
I’m about 20 hrs post CS and the nurses are already commenting on how quickly i become almost paint free. We’ll see how it goes with more walking and BM but so far it’s been easier than the first.
My experience isn't as applicable but my DD was 8 lb 4 oz and induced at 41+0. I didn't have any tears or issue birthing her and I'm super petite myself (5'1" and 117 pre-pregnancy with her).
I know I sound so whiney and pouty, but seriously, this is SO different than my last pregnancy. I am uncomfortable all of the time. It doesn't even matter if I'm sitting or lying down or floating on a flipping cloud.
I'm 38 weeks and in serious discomfort. I have really painful and inconsistent contractions. Lost MP last week, and the baby is either moving side to side or digging his head as far down as he can.
For moms with other pregnancies, anyone have these feelings for weeks before they went into labor??? I just didn't have any of this with the first one, and I'm shocked at how much I hurt and how early this is.

Me. This is my second pregnancy as well and I’m SOOO uncomfortable. I’m 39+3 and ive been having “early labor” for 2 weeks now. Totally whining right there with you. It’s been tough.
@kat029@paytonpedro I am in the same boat as you two, and it is also my second pregnancy. Last time I felt cruddy because of high BP but this time it is just all the pain. I have major sciatica that weekly trips to the chiropractor are not really managing, and all kinds of contractions randomly every day. I feel so whiny but I am literally never comfortable. Also, I'm only 37+2...so this could be a while yet. At my last appointment the baby was very low, head engaged and dilated to almost 2, so I am praying this means he will arrive on the early side.
+1 to @kat029@paytonpedro and @limoncat - this is #2 for me too and I don't remember being this miserable (though last night my husband said he remembers me saying I was ready to be done about this time with DD I don't remember it that way). I had latent labor for 4 weeks with DD before induction which was annoying because as a FTM I didn't know if this was it or if they were going to just fizzle out again after an hour. Completely agree it's the body pain this time that's so bad - basically if I get out of bed and try to do anything "normal" i feel wrecked for a solid day and looks like the fake-out contractions are starting early this time too. I'm only 36 wees so I have a while too. I don't feel whiny, but I feel useless and a major letdown since I basically can't get out of bed and would rather be cleaning or prepping or playing with my daughter.
Yup jumping on the STM misery train here. With my son I stopped working at 38 weeks, went in to start induction the evening of 38+6 (had him at midnight of 39+1). Today I am 38+6, so this is as far as I got in my last pregnancy, and have another week to go until induction, and working until the end because I want the time with the baby. Between wanting work to be done, being miserable with sciatica/heartburn/BH/everything, and really wanting to avoid induction, I am becoming so impatient. Just trying to distract myself as much as possible. Having appointments almost every day is helping a bit - between midwife, mfm, chiro, acupuncture, I am always going to an appointment it seems.
