Sooooooooo yeah I have not slept. I've tried to rest in between but that's it. They are still a little all over but feels like they're getting more intense. Unfortunately the pain is shooting into my lower back so he may still be sideways or sunny side up?? I'm just glad it's 530am here and I made it through the night so I can finally get some answers soon!
@kissableviv good luck! If you're in early labor and miserable you could try an acupuncture session to strengthen/normalize the contractions. I basically spent all weekend researching it since it's one of my last ditch attempts to go into spontaneous labor. Let us know how the appointment goes!
i just got home from an appointment and didn’t have much change. Cervix is very soft and I’m still 2cm but she could easily stretch it to 3. She did a gentle sweep so I’m literally praying it gets something started. I’ve already been having contractions 3-5 minutes apart but they fizzle out after an hour or two. 39 weeks today, she won’t be in the office next week so if I’m still pregnant I have to see someone else. Ugh. And I’d realllllly love to avoid another induction if possible (and also being pregnant for another 2-3 weeks)
Soooooo tired. Count me in for overnight contractions. Spent the better part of the night timing them but as soon as they would become regular they would change or fizzle out. Lost more MP this morning but nothing significant. It’s officially due date for me, I’m happy something is happening again after a week of nothing, but hurry up lady!
@kissableviv good luck at your appt! Early labor is no fun!
Not sure if I’m just peeing myself, liquidy discharge or have a slow leak. For the second time today (with 2 hrs between occurrences) I’ve had to run to the restroom for a gust feeling. This second time i had some blood tinted MP. Anyone have experience with slow leaks? What i should look out for? No real contractions but just lots of pressure and painful movement from baby.
@wildtot recommendation to me when i suspected a slow leak was to lay flat or hips up for a while and then get up and check for fluid - AF will pool while you lay down and gush out when you stand up if it's a slow leak. I've heard that random gushes are less likely to be a slow leak although if the hole is high up depending on baby position it could theoretically pool high internally and then gush when baby moves it's not typical.
I'm in the complete opposition position of everyone else - every cramp and twinge and BH has me terrified it is labor and i'm not going to make it to my CS. Was already at 1 CM 40% at 34 weeks and don't want to hear on Thursday where I'm at now since I know I've had more contractions since then. Last night had intense back pains that actually had me crying/moaning and DD running over saying "mommy booboo!". I was able to ease it and think it was more GI than OB - but keep getting into this viscous cycle of BH so I chug water, then bladder gets full and despite peeing 4 times in 45 min it sets off more contractions.
@gingerbride26 thanks I’ll have to try that see if it happens again. It’s got me paranoid that I’m going to the restroom to check if it’s pee (i can generally still hold it in if i kegel).
@wildtot every time I've thought it was a slow leak they said it was pee - it was mostly happening after going to the bathroom and then coming back and sitting down and feeling a tiny gush, but they said that i probably didn't fully empty or super low baby was kinking the tube and then moving off or kicking bladder or something.
Guys, I'm 4cm and effacing! Holy crap! Baby isn't showing movement on the nst so we are headed to the hospital and unfortunately might have to start pitocin but I'm trying to push back. We are home even though we were all packed because we needed a second to take in the fact I went from 0 to 4 in less than 24 hours. I'll be a bit bummed if I can't just avoid all interventions but with the marginal cord insertion and the fact that baby is not moving much I'm freaking out a bit.
@kissableviv yay for dilation! but boo for possible pitocin! Maybe they’ll let you walk the hospital for a while first to see if you progress once your own? Good luck!!
@kissableviv hope all goes well! How exciting! You are gonna do great! Fx for progress without pitocin and that everything goes smoothly at the hospital!
If you can hold it in with kegels, it's probably not amniotic fluid @wildtot. I had a leak with baby a last time. One gush while I was sleeping, then I dripped the whole way to the bathroom no matter how hard I Kegeled lol.
@kissableviv would they consider other induction methods first, like AROM or cervadil? I hope things keep moving and baby looks good when you get to the hospital!
Oh yeah I was gonna add, like @comealongponds, maybe see if they’ll break your water before trying pitocin. You’re already at a 4, breaking your water may be just what your body needs!
@kissableviv yayy!! Fx they let you progress on your own! Like pp said see if they can break your water, that could be the bump you need! Also I’ve heard it was normal for babies to slow down during labor, unless that’s just active labor?
@kissableviv Wow, that happened quickly! Best wishes to you and your family! That sucks about the pitocin possibly being needed but I promise it's not that bad and once that baby is in your arms it won't matter. You've got this!
Had an appointment today and things are moving along! 2-3cm and 70% effaced. Got my induction scheduled for my due date which is super relieving! 11 more days till baby is here (if he doesn’t decide to come on his own- which would also be 100% fine)!
@kissableviv horray!! Can’t wait for more updates! (Or a birth announcement) Good luck!

38.5 today and let them check my cervix for the first time because I was still unable to feel it myself. I was actually surprised to be 2cm and 60% effaced, although still -2 station and cervix still posterior. Do your Drs mention station when checking? I hadn’t seen anybody mention it. I have been constantly crampy the last day or so but no actual contractions, and I’d like baby to drop down further soon!
@ckmb_knottie no experience with the station mentioning this time around but its nice to hear that you can't feel yours and the doc could. I cannot feel mine either, and was a bit discouraged about it. The last two times I was preggo they couldn't even GET to my cervix so I feel like they stopped and never mentioned stations. I have heard other ladies on here mention it though.
@SmashJam my dr and doula keep telling me the cervix can shift forward & baby can drop down really late and it’s totally fine, but I’m with you - it just worries me! I’d prefer everything was in optimal position before active labor begins
I was at 3.5cm and 70% on Thursday at 35+2 - to my shock! Been having a TON of BH, period like cramping, lower back pain, loose stool, lost the mucus plug, etc. in the last few days... Which makes me equally nervous and excited. I'm hoping I make it another week so she's full term but I am so, so uncomfortable!
Wouldn’t be surprised if i went into labor today or Wednesday. I’m getting random contractions but with each one i get bloody stuff (MP?). I think all this cleaning maybe contributing. Hopefully no labor tomorrow because I think it’s the only day my ob is not on call and my parents arrive Wednesday.
Still 2cm dilated, 70% effaced and now at 0 station at 39 weeks. Next appt will be at 40+1 where we will schedule induction I guess. They won’t let me go past 41 weeks. I’m hoping she comes before then!

@And846 I’ve been active more than usual today and getting random contractions. Now that I’m resting im still getting them but not yet timeable. I’d say in the last hour I’ve had maybe 3. So we’ll see.
Contractions about 6.5 mins apart lasting about 45sec to min long. Omg these things are painful! More bloody stuff coming out while using the restroom.
@wildtot uh oh sounds like you’re not gonna make it to Friday! I hope they settle so you can still have your scheduled c section but if not then good luck!!
