May Symptoms

Re: May Symptoms

  • I was able to sleep for the past 2 nights without waking up for major heartburn issues. I still woke up a few times and readjusted to sit up occasionally, but I am counting this as a WIN.
  • Loading the player...
  • Thats a great win, @supersara2!  Those acid up the throat nights are the worst!!

For those with tailbone pain who are also seeing a chiropractor - mention it!  Turns out my tailbone was out of place - she adjusted it and I haven't had any pain (there) since.

@MichelleAG05 i mentioned it at my last appointment and she’s been trying to adjust it. Still painful but at least my hip pain is gone at night.
  • Found this link from Yoga journey about the SI joint and lower back pain. It's a video about how to get some reliev with a yoga block. You can also use a thick book:)

Gah I will not be telling DH about the possibility of a bj doing the same effect as sex after 36 weeks! With DD and DS once I started dilating he was done having sex (something about being scared of touching the babies head...ok dude, sure...) If he even catches a fraction of this idea I'll lose all chances of sex LOL. I do not want to be induced this time around so I'm already prepping him and reassuring him that he won't touch the baby and we will be having sex to try and start labor.

  • @zg49 I said the same thing about "I'm not telling him that" but per usual in our relationship I just tell him everything anyway lol but he ended up waking me up asking for...assistance...so he must have been thinking about it (he didn't know I'd already fallen asleep)
I also told him I was calling BS man logic on it :-P my understanding has always been the prostoglandis is a direct application deal and you are supposed to be using the pill as a SUPPOSITORY not orally.

My feet already hurt and still so much to do pre cook out - if I make it through the weekend totally getting a pedicure monday or tuesday.

  • I'm not sure about the iron causing it. I drink a ton of water already and Tylenol does help, but it's to the point I'd have to take Tylenol every day.
  • Restless Leg Syndrome is making me crazy. I was reading up on how to get rid of it because one of the groups I follow on facebook swears by magnesium oil, and suggestions were basically like, don't get in bed until you can fall asleep, don't sit for long periods, etc. I AM TIRED PEOPLE. I DON'T WANT TO KEEP MOVING NONSTOP. Ugh. I hope I can sleep tonight with these crazy legs!
  • @SmashJam I get that too!! It's super annoying. I think I also get chsrlie horses as I wale up with sore calves.
4am is my wake up time, without fail. I usually am up because I'm sweaty, but last night I also had to pee. First time in a long while and I'm sure it's here to stay. Took me 30 min to fall back asleep...time to move bedtime back to decent hours.
  • Pregnancy insomnia SuCkS!!!!!
  • Anyone else finding themselves back in the first trimester symptoms? Nausea is coming back in full force and hitting me mid meals making it incredibly hard to eat anything. I just keep telling myself we are in the home stretch so not too much longer!

@kbernal2021 I wasn't sure if it was the heat (it was SUPER hot here this weekend-like 100  :s ) or what, but I was nauseous several times this weekend and even commented that I felt like it was morning sickness coming back!  I'm with you on that one!!

  • @stlmegs same here. We are in the high temps of 105 and I just want to be a hermit in my house, it's just not possible. This heat definitely makes me feel every bit of the extra weight I'm carrying these days as well as swelling etc. Here's to hoping the first trimester symptoms subside for us soon!
  • I'm starting to really hate food/eating. Eating a meal makes me feel super uncomfortably full and I usually have no desire to eat. Also if I eat dinner I get that burning acid feeling in my throat when I try to go to bed.

  • So much swelling...feet and ankles...officially can't wear my wedding ring anymore. Going to find a cheap fill-in ring so I don't look 16 and pregnant (I look really young)

  • DH and I have been very sexually active this whole time, today I noticed I was spotting. The doc says to just monitor and it’s most likely because of sex. The baby has been kicking up a storm, which I’m happy about. But I guess this means no more sex? I meet with my doc on Friday so I’ll ask about it then.
  • @rachelsogo I’m sure I will
be in that same boat in the next few weeks, my hands def feel swollen already.
  • I have my appointment tomorrow so I'm already planning to ask there, but anyone else having a slight chest tightness and like weirdness/breathlessness coupled with movement/BH.  Assuming he's just pissing off veins and lungs in there, HR is a little elevated at 102 sitting but no where near when I saw the cardiologist months ago and they cleared me.  It's random and not close together or anything that would make me worry - mostly just annoying.

  • @gingerbride26 I haven’t tested my hr during one, but I get that anxious tightening chest, almost shortness of breath feeling when I get a strong BH. I always thought it was normal, but definitely good to ask about.
  • @acunamatada cool.  Anxious tightening is perfect description! stealing that for my appointment.  I've always read "takes your breath away" in conjunction with BH but it was the tight/anxious feeling that was weird - for the record I have a garmin HR/watch/activity tracker - so my HR is in my face already so I figured I'd look ;-)

  • Hello tingly feet and hands...all of a sudden in the last 2 days. Sitting too long causes my feet to tingle. Standing up and walking around makes it better for a little bit however, feet get tingly if I stand too long.

  • I hate sleeping on my side now. My arm constantly falls asleep. My shoulder is always knotty. I'm going to buy a wedge so I can roll over on my back and stay elevated. Ugh! I have not been getting any tingling but my arm does fall asleep as I said from constantly being on the left side.
  • @gingerbride26 I also get the tightness of chest and short of breathness during BH-sometimes my neck muscles even tense up if they are super intense!
  • @gingerbride26 I get that same anxiety tightness with BH... Sometimes right up into my throat and face on the big ones. It's so freaky weird, but I'm pretty sure they're normal
  • @zombiehoohaa +1 here - woke up with my arm completely numb this morning (the one on TOP for some reason) and then hands were going tingly while sitting on the toilet too.  TMI but my toes have been doing painful tingling during sex for a while this pregnancy which is part of the reason why I've been so off sex this pregnancy.

  • @catftm2018 I'm a little jealous!  Neither of us has been in the mood in ages, actually not sure when the last time H and I were active was, but I think it's safe to say we've both forgotten how to by now!  :p Thankfully in our case it's a mutual hiatus, LO kicked last time and that just weirded both of us out, we're not fans of having someone else in the room with us  :D Anyway, sorry for the spotting, but things do get pretty sensitive down there! But there are still other ways to enjoy each other if you're in the mood for it. Someone should still be having a good time!
  • I'm so thirsty I cannot get enough ice water. It's to the point where it's getting freaky.

Does anyone feel like they have a bowling ball in their stomach? I'll be 35 weeks on Sunday, but a bit ago, when I was 33 weeks and 4 days and got another measuring ultrasound, the ultrasound tech said my baby was in the 80th percentile at 6 pounds, 2 ounces! I don't know if the weight is accurate, but it sure feels like I have a six-pound bowling ball inside of me. I asked my MFM (high-risk ob/gyn) if I was on my way to having a big baby, and she said "Oh yes, you are definitely on your way to having a big baby!" at a minimum of 8 or 9 pounds or more. Good thing I'm having a c-section!

And people keep telling me that bigger babies learn to sleep through the night faster--I hope that's true!
  • UPDATE: asked about the tightness/anxious chest/breathless feeling and dr said that is a contraction and keep an eye on it - but i'm high risk so they freak out at any mention of contractions.  I'm supposed to call if they get more often and less random.

  • @noideawhatshesdoing You just made me laugh out loud! I got the green light from the doctor she said it’s completely normal and to continue business as usual today.

@gingerbride26 at least you know what to look out for now!
  • @sm05-2 I’ve never heard of that size = better sleeper, but DS was bigger than both DH and I at birth and he was a terrible sleeper. He was was a big eater and always woke to eat.
  • I’ve heard people say 12 lbs is the magic number when a baby can sleep through the night. I don’t really think that’s true universally, maybe more of an old wives tale, but I guess in theory if they have more fat stores they might be able to go longer without eating.
  • @sm05-2 I had a growth scan around 34 weeks with my first and they said he was already big and then I went to 42 full weeks..  I was certain he was going to be a freaking elephant but he ended up being 7lbs 12oz...  Not big at all!  Those scans aren't always accurate for size
  • @runsomewhere literally dying right now! Husband got a pretty good laugh himself at your post as well!
  • @zande2016 I don't recall hearing that number (but I don't recall a lot). However, I DO remember that STTN is at least 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep. 5 hours isn't a lot in my mind, especially if your kid goes down at like 10p and then is up again at 3a...I'm like, this doesn't feel like STTN!
DD was a good sleeper (but used a pacifier) and once she was about 7-8 months old she started finally sleeping 12 hours straight. Before that she'd wake up for a midnight feeding at about 12a-1a.

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • Those suffering from acid reflux, have you ever tried a wedge pillow? I've got one sitting in my amazon cart but not sure if it will actually help. I also may just go ahead and have my doc call in prescription meds for me. I'm over this.
  • sm05-2sm05-2 member
    @wildtot and @zande2016 that’s interesting...ugh, maybe it is an old wive’s tale. :(

@KatyF0813, ha! I know the measurements can be off—we’ll see what happens!
  • GUYS I FEEL HUGE. 32 weeks 2 days, and nothing fits. I have plenty of dresses and skirts but for playing in the backyard/gardening/hiking I have like two pairs of pants and its HOT OUT AND I DON"T WANT TO WEAR PANTS. My sports bras don't fit, my undies don't fit, and I'm a big ol' sad sack of largeness.

It will probably pass when its no longer 85 wtih 97% humidity but right now...WAAAAAAHHH! I don't know how you guys with the 90-100 degree temps are functioning.
  • @MichelleAG05 I haven’t tried that. Have you tried Zantac or Tums? Both are harmless in pregnancy. I pop a Zantac usually once or twice a day, and supplement with tums as needed. It’s gotten a little better lately as I’ve dropped a bit, but through both pregnancies I had it really bad, and always found if I stick to a Zantac schedule every 12 hours it’s managable. I use the max dose. I usually take one when it’s time even if I feel okay because it will prevent it from coming back.
