@zande2016 I do not.i think our Wal-Mart used to have one but I haven’t seen it in a while.
@acunamatada I got them worse when I was rubbing under my eyes like on my cheek bones/sinus area. I get them occasionally too when I’m not pregnant. my bp has been fine the whole time so unless I get some more tell tale symptoms or my feet swell worse then I probably won’t worry about it too much.
My vagina is F*CKED Up! I don't know how else to say it.
I've been feeling pressure there for a while and on Friday night the whole thing kind of hurt and felt really tender. So I looked, up close, I got in there and looked. OMG guys I don't know if I should be calling my doctor and I hope this goes back to normal but it doesn't look good. It's kind of swollen and like lumpy? I googled it and it might be varicose veins?! I looked again on Saturday since I was feeling less pressure and it looked better but not like it should.
I'm half panicking and half ignoring what's going on.
@runsomewhere I feel like my Vag is always kind of swollen too. Kind of like post sex but all the time. And lots of pressure. I asked my ob about the pressure and she said it’s probably because of increased blood flow and water in the area. The lumpiness could definitely be varicose veins.
@SmashJam Sounds like heart palpitations which I've had off and on since March. My OB wasn't concerned and said it's a common pregnancy complaint but advised I get evaluated by my PCP for peace of mind. I did and everything checked out okay. He said if the "extra beats" are ever accompanied by a racing heart and difficulty breathing or chest pain to go to the ER.
My OB also advised that staying rested and hydrated will minimize them and I have found that to be true. It wouldn't hurt for you to mention your experience at your next appointment.
@runsomewhere@hillbillywife I don't have any varicose veins at this point but I definitely am feeling the soreness and swollen-ness. I basically feel like my vagina is going to fall off/out when walking. I feel like I spent 12 straight hours having sex when we haven't in probably like 3 weeks to a month. Just so unreasonably sore
I'm glad you ladies are staying on top of your BP, I also heard that pre e can set off suddenly so it's good to be vigilant.
My strange symptom is that I actually lost weight. I'm a pound lighter than last week and I was fully clothed and hadn't pooped this morning when I used the scale . I know it's just a pound but of course I'm already in red flag mode. I hear it's normal to feel less hungry when there's not much space left but of course I worry. I see the OB tomorrow so we'll see what the scale there says!
@kissableviv I think 3rd tri weight loss, especially later in the third tri is fairly common. Our bodies are so crowded by the baby that appetites decrease significantly, plus I'm convinced that normal tasks like laundry and gardening count as legit workouts by now lol.
I'm not looking at my weight much these days because it bums me out. However, with DD I think I was heaviest at 30 weeks or so then lost a few lbs then regained it the last few weeks in the form of swelling from being active in the heat.
@kissableviv I started overweight, so I haven’t gained too much, when I did go in for a monthly check I had lost a lb. this was around 25-30 weeks, I can’t remeber when. My doc was not concerned at all. I hope it’s the same for you too!
My baby is SO active sometimes, it is starting to get painful. He's moving around like crazy, and I've been feeling a lot of menstrual-like cramping down low, tightening occasionally, intermittent pressure down low, and even some back cramping. Getting so annoyed trying to decipher what's normal, what's BH, what's just movement, or what's possibly irritable uterus caused by all the movement...could be all or none of the above I guess. Or it could just muscle aches from being punched from the inside so much...I don't know, and I have no appointments at all this week so I guess I either have to wait a whole week and see if this goes away, or call the midwife and see if they want to see me.
All doctors warn about pre-e because it's a big deal, but it's not all that common. I put some information in the spoiler below, but it's one of those types you should be educated on the warning signs but not stress about. So don't read if you're the type to stress.
Pre-E is not a slow onset type of thing - that's chronic hypertension. You have to have more than one of the symptoms in order to be diagnosed with pre-e (which usually requires an emergency c-section and then NICU time for baby). Here are the things my doc said: - High Blood Pressure (over 140/90 call the doctor, over 160/110 go straight to L&D) - Other signs of high BP (so go take it): eye floaters, headache that won't go away with water, rest or Tylenol - Protein in your urine (this is the #1 sign and why you should get to the doc if you have high BP) - Right rib pain
With DD I had high BP and right rib pain, but never developed protein in my urine (thus, never developed pre-e). I have multiple friends who did so I've heard lots of stories. Most of the babies (though not all) had to spend time in the NICU after birth. .
I. Was. So. Miserable. Yesterday. I went to dinner and ate too much (a whopping Cobb salad), LO was SO active and I was cramping on and off until I finally got to lay down.
@zande2016 I’m always trying to figure out what’s going on in there. I’ve noticed I’m getting more crampy the fuller my stomach and/or bladder are, I think she’s running out of room!
Theres this one spot on my belly where I think LO’s butt keeps jutting out. DS bumped into it yesterday and I had the weirdest bruised, spasmy feeling. It was SO uncomfortable, almost like my muscles were going to give out and she’d just fall out of my side.
@acunamatada glad to hear I'm not the only one getting lots of cramping with an active baby. I also notice there's this one spot where hit little butt sticks out, and there's this constant achy/bruised feeling there. And I have an anterior placenta, can't imagine what this all would feel like without that cushion.
@runsomewhere I have those and was told they will go away after baby is here. Was told to rest as much as possible, drink plenty of fluids to avoid soreness. Sometimes, the soreness is unavoidable.
I'm starting to feel overheated very easily, nauseous, and overly exhausted. I have NO energy. When I do, it lasts for 10 minutes, then I feel as though I need to lay down. At work, I feel as though I am running on 1/4 of what I normally would not pregnant. Pregnancy brain is REAL and in full affect for me. No motivation for anything other than waddling to the bathroom and laying back down.
Pregnancy brain is in full effect for sure. I went downstairs as I woke up early on mother's day, got some juice from the fridge, and didn't notice the flowers and gift from DH sitting on the table. When he woke up he asked me if I wanted coffee and I said oh I just went to get some juice and he looked so puzzled/disappointed. It's seriously back to first trimester levels!
@zombiehoohaa I feel like it's worse when I'm sitting all day. When I'm up walking around and moving I feel way more comfortable. Today, sitting at work I'm feeling sore/tender again. Definitely chugging tons of water though.
@zombiehoohaa +1 for running on empty at work! Starting to feel a little bad about it, but what can you do?! I've starting hemorrhaging tasks and responsibilities and keep changing my last day of work to be sooner and sooner.
I went on a hike yesterday (the first of the season, omg it was so much more difficult than I could have ever imagined - this is a PSA - don't start your hiking season at 7 months preggo!!!!), and over-did it on one of my ankles. Now I've got the pregnancy waddle AND a slight limp/hobble going on....it's so great.
ETA: I got some blood work back and have a slightly lowered platelet count, does anybody have experience with this during pregnancy? They are keeping me monitored but were pretty vague about what would happen if the count dropped any further...
@runsomewhere I'm finding myself getting up more often because of the soreness, just to pace in a small area. It seems to help a tiny bit, not much though. I look like a waddling weidro, however, I'll do anything to alleviate soreness at the moment. I hope you get some relief. I am too chicken to look or ask dh to look down there... @canucklehead123 I've FINALLY started to train my replacements at work and am counting down to work from home fulltime come June 11th. Leave is tentatively set for July 2nd, however it feels like it may need to be sooner. Doing most of my normal responsibilities at work is mentally challenging and it's kind of saddening for me. lol Fx to feeling better after your hike...
@canucklehead123 I always have low platelets in pregnancy. I get monitored monthly to keep an eye on it. The concern is excess bleeding if it gets too low (my doctors are happy as long as mine stays above 100). Too low also may mean you can't have an epidural, so I always have to get my levels checked when I am in labour (and my last two labours were so fast I have my babies before the results came back, so no epidurals for me and I'm not counting on one this time). If your levels get too low they can do a transfusion to bring them back up. My levels have always evened out after pregnancy. Hope that helps.
@KatyF0813 thanks for the explanation, I was curious because my husband had low platelets at both his physicals in the past 2 years but the doctor was not concerned and they never fully explain what that was all about...he still wants to go see a hematologist just in case but hasn't had time to book one yet - apparently the referral we got had a 2 month wait
Regarding low platelets- I have a bleeding disorder. My big thing is they HAVE to check my level prior to doing an epidural because if I’m to low then I can’t have it.
However was it platelets that were low or RBC’s or hemoglobin? My hemoglobin is lower- so they started iron supplements.
Hows this for restless leg syndrome?
Also TMI but have bloody stools now from not going as frequently - thanks pregnancy
After a week and a half of hip and sciatica relief from the chiropractor it came back yesterday. I feel like i got hit by a bus. Seriously debating if i should finish the last week of work from home.
How soon is it possible for the baby to drop? I'm in my 32nd week, and at last a few weeks ago baby was in head down position.
I feel like over the past few days I've started to have an easier time breathing, but I've had to pee way more often, like every half hour-45 minutes instead of every hour or hour and a half.
Could just be my imagination, of course. My baby has also always measured 1-2 weeks ahead, don't know if that matters. I wouldn't say the baby has completely dropped, but I wonder if she's begun her descent, lol.
@sm05-2 with my first I dropped at 32 weeks. I thought surly it was too soon but my Dr confirmed it at my 32 week appointment. I carry low anyway but literally went from feeling low to like there was a bowling ball between my legs about to fall out. I still went over and had to be induced so don't take it as a sign that labor is necessarily near. This time around baby is head down at 32 weeks but has not dropped yet and still moving freely in there with time to come out of that position if she desires.
Bloated! I'm so dumb, I just had a full veggie burger with sweet potato fries. Feeling super bloated and need to go to my OB appointment in 10...wish I could just nap on my rocker instead. Praying this doesn't give me heartburn...
Made it a solid couple weeks with zero sciatic pain and now it’s back with a vengeance plus lower back pain with all the walking and moving and cleaning I’ve been doing the past few days.
So yesterday at my appointment I mentioned the pre eclampsia symptoms that concerned me. My Dr said my BP looked great and no protein in my urine which means no pre eclampsia. He is concerned that my swelling may be starting a little premature and esrly in the morning but said just to continue watching it. I know some other ladies on here were having some swelling too so I wanted to pass along the advice he gave me. Basically the swelling can be normal if it's not extreme and coming towards the end of the day when most of us have probably been on our feet majority of the day. The swelling should not persist through the night or be there first thing in the morning though. I have a BP cuff at home and my Dr advised to check mine often when I'm noticing the swelling in the mornings and make sure it continues in a normal range and call as soon as I notice a change. Also persistent bad headaches, seeing spots, and pain under the ribs can all be signs of pre eclampsia.
Glad you're doing ok @kbernal2021! Thanks for reminding us of what to look out for for pre e.
I found out yesterday that I'm going back at 34ish weeks -so in 2 weeks- and then after that twice a week for the fluid and monitoring. So as of June 7th or so my twice a week appointments will start. I cannot believe how close we are getting...
No heartburn for days and I call that a victory! I am feeling good but sooooooooo lazy. I can't work out for the life of me. And I tend to sit at home most days of the week...
Also, I seriously cannot sleep for more than 6.5 hours. So annoying, but I guess I'll take what I can for now.
Sorry all you ladies are having aches and pains and scary symptoms too! I spent most of my last 2 days in L&D after doing pretty damn well until now (excluding underlying medical issues + SPD). I’ve developed some oddity where my heart rate spikes every morning for a few hours. As in, it was >140 just straightening my hair. It hit 175 after walking 1/2 a block and down a flight of stairs to the subway... and then it takes hours to come back down. Good news is baby is perfectly fine & active. Bad news is I’m legit scared I might have a heart attack, bc my poor heart is working so hard just standing and walking! Cardiologist is putting me on a monitor (for 2 weeks!). So no more exercise for me.
@pretzellover how scary! I'm sorry to hear! I hope the monitoring helps and the rest of the pregnancy is uneventful
@acunamatada that sucks. I've had a couple of days of anxiety for different reasons and ironically that helps with pooping lol. What about a thick green smoothie? Or as per @carsonraynee some magnesium?
I'm anxious this week. I'm burned out on the commute and on work. My vagina hurts and I haven't eaten dinner all week because I've been too stuffed from lunch.
@kissableviv sorry to hear you're dealing with the anxiety too, it does suck. I'm frustrated because nothing big is going on for me to be anxious about. I feel overly aware of my body and all its functions right now. It's like in the back of my mind there are constant questions like is the baby moving enough today, does she feel different, is my vag going to bust open, does my blood pressure feel normal, I feel shaky does that mean something is wrong, did I eat food that's recalled, I'm not getting big is baby ok in there......
@wildtot I always thought it was just joints popping?
I just felt hiccups in my ribs. Oh no! I have spent the last 10 minutes trying to decide if I feel a head between my ribs with no luck, lol. I know I still have 10 weeks and he's probably not as big as my last two due to the marginal cord insertion but still. He also seems to like to hang out in transverse so I guess its probably easy for him to switch head down/feet down, just depends on which way he swims!
@SmashJam oh no! Hope he flips back down! The thought of baby joints popping is a bit disturbing lol. I was think maybe also bubbles popping from moving so much if it’s even possible. It’s weird.
