@sm05-2 my MIL who is an OB actually did quote the 12lbs benchmark to me the other day as when babies have enough fat to sleep longer through the night. She’s the chief attending at an nyc hospital so there’s definitely some science or at least extensive anecdotal experience to it otherwise she’d never say it to me. Don’t think it’s just an old wives tale!
@devilcat139 I think it may be true that physically babies at 12 lbs CAN sleep through the night, but that won’t make it universally true that all babies WILL sleep through the night at that point, because there’s a developmental/emotional component to it as well. Babies being able to put themselves back to sleep is a developmental milestones that they won’t all reach at the same time.
@SmashJam I'm in the Texas panhandle and right now our temps are ranging in the 100-105° heat right now. We also rarely get rain so it's very dry heat, or when we do get it then extremely humid on top of the hot weather. So as soon as I get home from work I live in shorts. Basically nothing fits me either but academy has some BCG brand shorts that are used for runners and pretty cheap. They're not maternity but they have a stretchy waist band so they fit my growing belly well. You may look into them and if there's no academy near you they offer free shipping on orders over $25 online!
Something I hope none of you have to ever deal with....kidney stones. Been in the hospital for 2 days and I swear it is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life (and that includes childbirth). I dont post much due to an insanely crazy schedule and virtually no free time but felt compelled to share on this one. Ugh I'm exhausted.
I eat dinner just so I can get to dessert: ice cream. Yesterday I had ice cream before dinner

I was hospitalized last week with kidney stones. Rather go through labor then that again.
Thanks for the medicine tips, everyone. Unfortunately, I've tried all those and they don't work for me. I'm taking Nexium now but it's not lasting 24 hours and then is taking 3-4 hours for the next dose to kick in. I will likely get a prescription from my doc this week for something else.
Re: May Symptoms
Is craving ice cream a symptom?? Cause that's all I want instead of an actual meal lol
