Guys, I’m so excited!! I’m hosting an Easter Egg decorating party tomorrow night (note, it will be six adults and one 4 year old...lol!). I just Amazon Primes the Eggmazing Egg Decorator. It looks so cool! I can’t wait to try it out!
@2589, yay for a closed cervix! Hopefully it stays that way for several more weeks.
I am officially on day 3 of bedrest for my misbehaving cervix and while I am more than willing to do everything I need to do, I hate sitting around. I miss my job and independence already. Plus it’s a complete mind **** sitting around and wondering if something bad is about to happen. I am trying to stay positive and tell myself that every single day this baby has on inside is a win. Plus I might actually be able to keep up with the posts now.

@profmcgonagall my tailbone started hurting this week just from the way I have been sitting/ laying down lately- so I can't imagine being on bedrest. Good luck! Hopefully you will find some stuff to keep you occupied (are you crafty at all- I know other bed-resting mommas did projects for the nursery/baby or just for around their homes). Try not to think about something bad happening (easier said than done) and focus on finding all of the crazies on the other BMBs to watch for us.
@profmcgonagall So sorry you're stuck on bedrest! Hopefully its just what baby needs to stay put for a few more months. Time for some good books, Netflix, or as @jsl82 said, creep on the other BMBs and report back
@profmcgonagall I feel you! It’s hard wondering and not knowing. Hopefully the time passes quickly for you, yet slowly enough for baby to grow, grow, grow! Read some good books and hang out and chat with us here.
@kmurdock925, unfortunately not a whole lot of people due to us being overseas. My closest friend’s husband is about to deploy for 6 months so she will probably come over once he’s gone but I’m not bothering her for now.
@jsl82, I am not crafty in the slightest. I do have some coloring books left over from my c section and a list of books to read. My goal for the next week is to wash baby clothes and prep all my cloth diapers just in case he does come soon. I know I won’t want to do that once he’s born and possibly in the NICU.

@dinodna3 I legit considered getting more than one. However, I restrained myself. I think I'll have to do a few before people get here, so I can have it all to myself.
@profmcgonagall Ugh, sorry you're on bed rest! I didn't realize that. It sounds like you've got your time planned out well, at least.
@profmcgonagall I hope bedrest helps keep him inside for as long as possible. While I sometimes think bedrest sounds great in theory (while I'm in the midst of dealing with work drama), I think it would be hard to be so limited. If you want book / movie suggestions, let us know!
DH likes to go totally overboard once a year and make me a 4 layer cake. This year I told him to give me allllll the chocolate. Here’s to a relaxing day!
@2589 Happy Birthday!! That cake looks AMAZING! My dad used to make 4+ layer cakes for our birthday growing up too (my brother and I competed one year to see who would get the most layers and it just became a theme every year).
@kfren I still stand that January was the longest month in the history of time- which is why it seems so amazing that it's practically April.
AFM, our daycare was closed today so my mom is watching DD- and keeping her overnight. I will be child- free for 24+ hours (except for the fact that LO is literally attached to me). We are having what will likely be our last date night for a while (pretty sure we can find a sitter in August for our anniversary- but I'll still be BFing so there is that challenge). I'm tired and swollen (painfully swollen ankles) so not looking forward to it as much as I was even a few days ago. Hopefully LO lets mommy sleep tonight, since DD for sure won't be waking me up in the middle of the night.
@2589 happy birthday! Awesome news about your cervix being closed.
@dinodna3 no news is a good thing! FX for that confirmation call today.
@profmcgonagall I can only imagine how tough it is being on bed rest, mentally and physically. Hopefully you can find some good books, binge worthy TV and projects to pass the time.
@sunshineandwhiskey and @LaceyBee522 What's up baseball girls! I have no Cubs gear that fits right anymore but had to start off the season yesterday still representing my boys. Hoping to get in one game before our little guy comes but oh man, the walking, I'm not sure. Sorry, no spoiler.
Woohoo another Cubs fan! My Cubs stuff doesn't fit me in the slightest so I had to settle for a blue maternity shirt for opening day...still counts right?
@amys614 love it!!! The walking was definitely a pain but I found the sitting to be the worse. It didn’t help we had a 4-5 hour drive to get there because of traffic either. (I live in DE and my bff lives in Philly)
AW in spoiler: I got to re create a pic - top is current LO 28 weeks. Bottom is DD 30 weeks

@profmcgonagall hang in there! DH and my mom brought the lazy boy downstairs for me this week and it’s made resting so much more comfortable so I hope you have something like that to relax in. Some ideas for you- puzzles- adult coloring or maze books- crochet/knitting/paint by number. Hang in there!!! @2589 happy birthday your cake looks delish!!
@profmcgonagall sorry to hear you’re on bed rest. Can you work from home?
@2589 Happy Birthday!!! That cake with a cold glass of milk sounds amazing.
We we went to the DMV this morning to get our addresses changed on our drivers licenses. That was a headache and a half. How is it that they make such a simple task so complicated. Currently waiting for my chiro appointment. Then this afternoon we are heading to Madison for the weekend. Baby shower tomorrow!!! I am really excited because it looks like all our must haves got purchased. MH’s cousin who also has the UB vista bought the car seat for us (I’m assuming with others because it’s not cheap) and she texted MH saying if no one buys us the extra base that we can use theirs.
Just hoping that 4+ hours in the car doesn’t undo all the good from the chiro. Also trying to figure out how I can pack my giant body pillow because I am not sleeping two nights without it.

@momac1919 most definitely still counts! This hoodie was pushing it but everything else was a stretched out crop top look. Not cute! Last year we got these amazing seats, next to the pink hat guys, for free. Hookup of a lifetime. All I kept saying was that I think I'm gonna pee myself. And then when Baez turned and looked when he was warming up...one of the best moments ever *swoon* Before we settled on a name, my bf was like, we can just call him Javy Baez Jr, that'll make you happy.
@LaceyBee522 I know, I know. Serious rivalry. We went to opening day last year in St Louis when it was Cubs vs Cards. That city is amazing for baseball. I give them kudos for that, but still, go cubbiesssss. Still love ya girl.
@sunshineandwhiskey awww what great pictures! Phew on that drive! We are about 40 minutes from the ball park, so I can't complain. Parking is atrocious though because the whole 2 mile radius around it is Cubs central. I would definitely need to get dropped off while he parked.
@amys614 Thanks! We went to a cubs game when we did a cross country road trip (3 years??) ago now, and it was CRAZY! It was a weekday game, during the day, and you would've thought people didn't have jobs haha

@amys614@sunshineandwhiskey and @LaceyBee522 your baseball conversion has me thinking about DH's upcoming birthday. He's friends are coming to the Philly area (where we live- they live in NY state not the city) and they are going to a concert and a Phillies game. I said I would go to the game with the kids, but wouldn't be apart from my 1 month old for a concert (and I'm not bringing him). Do you think 1 month old is still too young for a baseball game? We brought DD at 5 months and she cried every time the crowd cheered. Just worried about the crowd and noise- but don't want to miss his whole birthday weekend.
@amys614 We went to Wrigley for the first time last summer when I was in Chicago for work. It was such a cool old stadium. Such a good vibe in there.
@jsl82 We are Yankees season tickets holders. MH is a big Yankees fan. He is already talking about taking the twins to games in their carrier over this summer to "give me a break." Not sure how it will go over, but I'm willing to let him try it at least once. As a FTM, I'm not really sure what to expect.
ETA: I got the Weego carrier in grey pinstripes, so at least they'll look like good Yankees fans. Lol!
@2589 happy birthday!!! I always make my own birthday cake since I love to bake, so the thought of having someone else make me a cake would be kinda awesome! And great bday present that your cervix is closed. FX it stays that way for quite a while longer!
@profmcgonagall I can imagine bed rest is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. A few years ago I ended up with a brain bleed and was on really strict rest. I found puzzles passed the time pretty well and I just called all my long distance friends for super long catch up chats! Lol. Also based on your username, you would probably get enjoyment out of watching all the Harry Potter movies that are on HBO currently!
I'm over here not caring at all about baseball. I once got hit in the leg by a foul ball at a Nationals game. It hurt so bad and then the guy in front of me stole the ball from between my legs so I didn't even get to keep it. After that I gave up on the sport. Lol.

@jsl82 IMO at that age, I would say go for it esp if you could baby wear. The only thing that would worry me would be heat, and germs. I was always told to bring a newborn/baby around as many noises as possible that way they work on their startle reflex, and then every little noise doesn't piss them off/scare them.

@Amphibious22 I am so scared of being hit by a baseball. Once a girl behind us got it right in the face/nose. It was awful. Now, I'm pretty cautious about where we sit. Freaks me out.
I love baseball! It's so nostalgic to me though and holds great sentiment. I remember summer nights as a kid drifting to sleep listening to Bob Uecker calling a brewers game. We already have a radio in the nursery tuned to the AM station they play the games on for background noise for LO. Yep, I'm a sappy, emotional mess lol.
