  • @nda_roxybabe I have this stiff rubber massage ball that has been a LIFE SAVER for my RLS.  It always starts acting up around 8pm when we're still on the couch watching Netflix or reading.  I'll put the ball under my calf on the ottoman, cross my other leg over it, and roll my leg around somewhat hard on the ball.  It feels amazing and seems to bust it up for me

I use the Alpha Ball: https://www.amazon.com/Yoga-Tune-Alpha-Ball-Miller/dp/B00NP280XY/ref=sr_1_3_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1491951879&sr=1-3&keywords=yoga+tune+up+balls

I know it's kinda pricey but it's amazing for the RLS, any cramps, tight hips, and busting up knots.

@swe2  Do you know when they were purchased? Maybe they had the items shipped directly from wherever you registered. My shower was last weekend and we got gifts sent to us directly from Target pretty much this whole week. If you're waiting on individuals to send them, I definitely wouldn't ask. I agree with @KMD1106. I would probably just buy the items myself and return the gift when it comes.

Also,I just read your freckle comment and I have them too! I've noticed the backs of my legs have tons of freckles that were never there before. I hope they go away.
  • @hp_momma Wow, that's amazing! Totally jealous.
  • @hp_momma who did you go through? Directly through your insurance company or through a medical equipment co? Aeroflow unfortunately does not work with my insurance. I'm starting to think no one does. And since no one at my insurance can give me a straight answer about whether or not I'm even covered... we'll just have to see I guess! Ugh. I wish they would just tell me one way or the other definitively. Everyone I talk to has a slightly different answer.
  • My username has a -2 add on it all of a sudden. I never changed it. Anyone know what that means or why it did that? Weird.
  • @hp_momma my spectra came yesterday! Like you, my insurance covers nothing with my previous two. I'm jealous of all of the bags and accessories that you got with it!

Random question: anyone have a rec for a good baby book? Although I've been less than stellar at keeping up with my son's, I would like to at least attempt to fill one out for this babe too.
I've spent more time than I am willing to admit looking at baby books.  I think I'm going to get one of these. They look simple and cute. The one I got for my ds had way too much stuff to fill out.

  • @starphish18 the insert in the box of sophie says the squeak is to teach them cause and effect. Honestly my son never made it squeak just ate the head or legs.
@ShadeofGreen816 did you check with yummy mummy .com? My insurance gave me one phone number who only offered horrible pump options. Went to yummy mummy got me a spectra

Totally weird. I have no explanation for that! At least you were still able to log in and post and everything.

@starphish18: I kind of liked the Sophie for that reason. It's supposed to engage all five senses.

Kind of related (to the spots on the giraffe being a sight stimulus b/c of the contrasting light/dark): Apparently the reason our nipples darken is for the same reason! So baby has a better chance of locating them! I think I knew that already, but just heard it again. So interesting. Our bodies are amazing.
  • @rebecca517-2 it's a weird glitch that has happened to some people, if you log into "the knot" and change your username back, it should fix it

  • I forgot which thread it was where we chatted about safe sleeping spaces for the LOs so I will just bring it up here again. I just set up the pack n play today with the option to raise the "bed" part. Those who are more knowledgeable about safe sleep practice... thumbs up or down? We're in a multilevel home and this is currently set up on the first floor with the intention of being used for diaper changes and hopefully naps.

  • @lrwardrop I love that second book you shared (the woodland adventure one)! I think that may beat out the one I was eyeing.
  • @pshaortao I think the changer part isn't safe, but  and raised mattresss is.

  • @pshaortao The changer is not safe. Is the raised mattress just that, a raised mattress? Or is it called a "Napper" or "sleeper"?

  • Why isn't the changer part safe?
  • Thanks for the vote of confidence @NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot and @nda_roxybabe! It'll be the raised bed part that LO would nap in. The changing pad can be folded upward when needed :)

I went through BabyPavillion! I'm not sure if they work only with Tricare or other insurance companies. Another one to check is Edgepark or The Breastfeeding Shop. All of them worked with my insurance company but BabyPavillion was the one that would let me upgrade at no cost to the Spectra S1!

  • @emilyalso when I was looking at a new mattress, they had a kind that basically had a gel underlay that stayed cool, I regret not getting one.

  • @bacorrea The sides aren't breathable and it's not a flat, firm surface. It's called a "napper," which isn't a regulated term. The bassinet level is fine, but you have to take the changer/napper off before using it.

  • @SKZW I was blown away when I first read that about the colour change in nipples. Our bodies are pretty cool!

  • @emilyalso +1 to everything you said. I'm up at 3 am so f ing hot is gross
  • @Kipperoo hooray!! Congrats!!!! I hope both you and Estelle are doing well!
  • What does everyone think of doing a birth stories/congratulations thread weekly? It would keep the randoms thread from getting overrun with congrats especially as we get closer to May when a lot more babies will be here!
  • @emilyalso it's probably too late to get one (or maybe not as I hear the PP night sweats are out of control) but I've always wanted one of these.

  • Anyone else having sharp pains in their hip/waist when laying on their side? I think it's just where LO is positioned, but it's really really painful.

  • @PartiallyDomesticated I think you are right on it being how baby is positioned. The nights my waist and belly hurt when I lay on a certain side are also the nights that baby wakes me up from moving around. Definitely annoying.
