I'm going to go back and read through everyone's posts but I just need to AW vent for a minute because today was a freaking day. The house we were buying fell through, so I was really disappointed about that. There were all sorts of expensive issues discovered in the inspection, and when we asked the seller for some repairs his response was "there's nothing wrong with the house." So we have to walk away.
The one thing I was looking forward to was our first lamaze class tonight... well, DH and I went to a coffeeshop to kill time beforehand and then our car wouldn't start when we tried to go to the class. Two people tried to help us jumpstart it, but one of the guys dropped some racial slurs directed at my husband in the process, and they didn't get the car to start. So then we had to extricate ourselves from that situation and call a friend for a ride to the class. We'll deal with the car tomorrow.
Silver lining was that we made it to the class only about 15 minutes late, and it was a good experience.

Quick shoutout to anyone up in the middle of the night like me. Unfortunately I was sleeping well and a big scary thunderstorm had to come along and scare the crap out of my poor dog, who is now beside himself. And keeping me up. Hope everyone else's night is going slightly better!
Ughh. Up here too. Dd woke up and wouldnt stay in her rm and since shes not feeling well i let her sleep on the couch with me but now i cant sleep. Plus im having more braxton hicks.
@kns1988 so sorry about the house. It's so disappointing when that happens but being able to hold back from buying it is the best thing in the long run. You will find another house that won't be broken. And also sorry about your adventures yesterday. I can't believe there are people out there still being so rude and hateful. Im glad you eventually made it to the class!
Is anyone else constantly hungry? I try to eat protein and keep hydrated, but it seems like I'm always still hungry. I don't remember this with my first, maybe because by the time I was this far along I was home for the summer and could munch whenever I felt like it?

@kmd1106. Yes to feeling hungry all the time. I had oatmeal with walnuts and fresh blueberries for breakfast and by the time I got to work this morning I was ripping into a bag of Girl Scout cookies.
@starphish18. I also have to stop and catch my breath recently. I remember this with my first pregnancy too during their tri.
@kns1988 i'm so sorry about your day! I hope today is a better one!
@kmd1106 I'm not so much hungr, but so thirsty. but I also am still coughing and end up peeing a little if I cough hard enough. So its a fine balance between drinking enough to quench the thirst but not so much that I'm constantly peeing myself all day!
***I couldn't decide on which GIF I liked better so here's both
@kns1988 Ugh, I'm sorry I go from either not hungry at all to full on starving. I've determined getting even a little hungry gives me acid reflux. I typically have breakfast at 8, snack (protein bar) at 10, lunch (yogurt and granola or something smallish) at 12, snack at 3, dinner at 6. Dinner is hard because I keep over doing it and then feel uncomfortable. I also need to figure out an 8pm snack that wont give me heartburn. Oy... I cant breathe, like ever. I have asthma, but 1 flight of stairs and I need to recover.
Not sure if this should be its own thread bc i think the few who were on bed rest have already delivered, so not sure how much input there will be. But i was wondering what anyone had done to entertain toddlers while on bed rest? I'm only on modified thank goodness, so still able to be up some and do things, but as i mentioned before i was even directed to do mod. bed rest, I'm hating the amount of tv we are doing. I have play dough that has kept her interest for a bit, she loves coloring, and she's into baby dolls, blocks, books, and dancing. However I'm not supposed to pick her up or do much cleaning and I'm a bit of a neat freak so I'm not wanting to pulll everything out and then not be able to clean it all up. Also its incredible outside so i would go sit out there while she plays, but we have a 60-70 pound dog who jumps alot so I'm not sure we should be in the yard with her, and all our outside toys are in the fence.
@Jkp7749 I would also recommend stickers. That can be a good way to entertain a toddler for a while. Also, I know it's screen time but there's a great app called Tozzle that is toddler-level puzzles. It could be good for when you're running out of options but don't want to do full-on TV yet.
I feel you on the crazy dog making activities hard. Do you have a doggie daycare in your area that your husband could take the dog to occasionally just to give yourself a bit of a break? I totally understand how stressful a wild dog can be.
@jkp7749 My toddler loves puzzles too. He does the big floor puzzles and I'm able to sit, watch and talk about the puzzle after he finishes. He also loves Legos.
Bubbles are always a hit. I thought about getting a bubble blower for his Easter basket so I can just sit and watch. Fingerpaint. Sidewalk chalk.
An outside sprinkler-type toy for when it warms up may be fun and include the perk a good nap afterwards (if you can contain the dog).
I hate relying on the screen, but if I can find something educational or a sing-a-long, then I don't feel as bad. I have a few bookmarked on my iPad and iPhone. We are a fan of Blippi! Amazon music has a station called "Little Kids' Music" that keeps mine entertained without a screen (and I love watching him sing).
Mobile bumping is making it hard to respond, and with my mom in town, I may not get a chance to this week. I am however thinking of everybody here and keeping up to date as best as possible! Boo to all the housing related woes, but I'm sure it will all work out just fine and hopefully for the better!
Not too much going on over here. Its been nice having my mom around and weve officially decided she will probably come here on May 6th. EDD is the 18th but DD came 9 days early so we're playing it safe. Safe enough hopefully! I know that babies don't always come around the same time but I've seen several from my last BMB with very similar arrival times. I'm definitely curious to hear from other with 2+ kids on this matter just because.
We had a ton of rain in California a few weeks ago, particularly one monster storm that was insane (we live about 2 minutes from that road sinkhole you may have seen on the news) and it has been nothing but apartment woes since! We had a leak in our kitchen through the stove-top hood, so a roofing guy needed to come out. Our gutters fell off under the rain so a gutter guy had to come. Our bougainvillea collapsed under the weight of the rain & wind so a gardener had to come out and tie it back up to the house. Our patio floor leaked through to our downstairs neighbor so we had to move all of our plants and our grill inside our 900 sq foot apartment for a WEEK while they fixed the patio (half-assed job, by the way), and Sunday night, our ceiling tiles caved in while we were watching TV, most likely from the moisture from the kitchen leak loosening the adhesive (see photo). Now they have to re-do the ceiling drywall next week, and we have to cover everything in plastic and "move out" for a few days because our building is from the 40's and the dust can't be trusted. This morning, I discovered the green trash truck had destroyed our alley gutter by slamming the trash lid into it. I mean WHAT IS GOING ON! I know in perspective it's small beans but so much has happened to our apartment in the last few weeks it's starting to feel like a sitcom! End rant.
Sitting in the office after chugging my Glucola. Yum. Hah! It wasn't that bad but between being almost late for my appointment and all that sugar I think my heart rate is like 110 and it's making me kind of uncomfortable. Fingers crossed for low blood sugars!! @KMD1106 I'm kinda with @nda_roxybabe My appetite totally ebbs and flows - some days I'm ravenous and some days I can't think of anything that sounds good. Irritating.
@Jkp7749 I think if I remember correctly your DD is almost three? For Christmas we got our DD these little animal toys from Target called Woodzeez. Think Calico Critters if you remember those, but cheaper. She will literally sit and play with those for 4 hours straight and not big anyone.
@sweaterboots We live so close we should have real life momma meet ups! Those storms were insane! I had one indoor leak the day the rain was so bad and telling my non English speaking apt manager was interesting (needless to say no one has come to repair or look into it). Also our only storage is down in the car parking right by an opening where the rain comes down so I've had to throw a ton of stuff away that was just sitting in water. But luckily my dad was here over the weekend and built me a platform for the rest of our junk! #calidreamin
@Jkp7749@achays11 post just gave me an idea. My 3 y/o niece is OBSESSED with shopkins or lego character kits. She will quietly sit for hours with them. At Christmas we kept them all in a gallon ziploc bag and she knew she had to put them back once she was done.
@Jkp7749 Look up the Melissa and Doug Water Wonder coloring pads or the Aqua Doodle ones. My kids love them and they are easy to pull out. Also I'd look into some board games that you could maybe sit and play with her so your still resting. My girls love the character matching games, Pop the Pig, Candy Land. Also, don't be too hard on yourself if you need to start relying on outside help! Family, friends. I know you've mentioned before that she doesn't really like to go with anyone else but this might be a way to get her used to it before the babies come. If your littles end up coming early and needing NICU time, you don't want to be stressing about choosing between the hospital and your DD! I know it's hard to leave your first baby with anyone else, but it does get easier. Start by having people come to your house so DD is comfortable and your there but resting. Hang in there!

@Jkp7749 YES the paint brushes with water! Such a lifesaver with littles who don't quite understand coloring yet. I carry some in my diaper bag for restaurants/stores and I leave some in the car to keep my kids occupied!

Well, I ended up calling my OBGYN cause I'm still having shortness of breath (going on almost a day now) and my H suggested I check just to be safe. I've never had it last longer than a minute or so at a time before. I assume it's nothing...just my lungs getting mushed or something? But they're having me come in to check my lung sounds and pulse ox.

@hp_momma we had our copy of Moana on pre-order so we got it today too! DD already listens to the soundtrack on repeat all day so it will be nice to have some dialogue breaks in there lol.

I think DD thinks she has already seen Moana a bajillion times because of the soundtrack.
I told her yesterday that we had to take turns and Mommy was listening to Ed!

with my last pregnancy I was short of breath all the time in the 3rd trimester. It helped to stretch my arms above my head, bend my elbows and just try to relax and take a deep breath.

@Jkp7749 , We love these things, too! Re-useable, portable, not messy, and seems to keep 2.5 yo DS entertained!
Other things I can think of off hand that kept my son entertained and relatively immobile at that age:
-Small crafts, like poke holes in boxes together and things in the holes (pipe cleaners, etc), grab a bunch of empty plastic bottles and fill them with different things (pom poms, beads, etc), -Make a tape city--take rolls of colored tape and turn the couch or bed into a city by making tape roads, setting up buildings, etc, and driving the cars around. -Window clings--picked up at the 1 spot at Target, keep him entertained for fairly long stretches of time. -Baking (self explanatory) -This sink is freaking AWESOME at keeping my child entertained now and I imagine he would have loved it at 1.5. You can fill it with a little bit of water, add a few kitchen utensils, and let her play (although clean up could be a little tough, but it's just water)... https://www.amazon.com/Little-Tikes-Splish-Splash-Stove/dp/B01COYNSZ8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1488918664&sr=8-2&keywords=plastic+toy+sink
