Good week ahead for me! I work today and tomorrow, take my GTT on Wednesday morning then fly to Tampa with my two SIL their collective 4 children and my MIL for a week. Weather looks like it is in the 80's pretty much the whole time we're there, which is SO needed.
Also, thank you for all the support given this weekend regarding my dear diary post.
Random: has anyone experienced slight numbness on their stomach? The top part of my stomach is slightly numb to the touch, it is just the top part right underneath my bra line, and only slightly numb.
@Jens_Hoes Had that with my first pregnancy and it started around the beginning of the third tri. Likely a nerve getting pinched or irritated. Went away postpartum (eventually).
I have my 28w appointment today and I don't want to go. I have gotten so fat in the past 6 weeks since my last appointment and I don't want to face the music.
On the bright side my husband asked kid 1 if he kissed the baby yet yesterday (over the phone) and he turned around and gave my belly a giant toddler smooch. Goddammit kid, that was cute.
@jens_hoes I have not personally experienced that but I had a friend who had a similar sensation during third tri with her first LO. She described it as sometimes numb, sometimes felt like a mild sunburn but it was a pretty small area. It went away for her after delivery! So, you're normal, but not super optimistic it'll go away quickly
@Jens_Hoes my left side goes numb all the time. When I brought it up to the OB, she said it sounded like it could be sciatica but with numbness instead of pain.
@Jens_Hoes I haven't had numbness there, but I have pretty persistent pain right in the area you described--top of my stomach just below my bra line. Nothing too terrible, but annoying (and perhaps numbness is on its way!). I hope you have a great trip with your in-laws!
Can we talk diaper bags? What's everyone getting/asking for? I had a boxy petunia pickle bottom and I loved the backpack option on it so I am thinking of getting another backpack but I almost want to try a different bag. The PPB didn't feel particularly roomy and it was a little bit heavy.

This totally deserves its own thread! Do it! @vrj0522
So they announced our bonus at work - and it is GOOD, which means weight lifted off my shoulders regarding whether we would have to dip into our savings for my unpaid leave. We had already saved in case, but now we can just use the bonus money and not touch our savings. (insert happy dance here)

@vrj0522 I believe we talked about this before in one of the threads, maybe the baby gear thread. People gave recommendations for backpacks. I also have a boxy backpack and it is heavy and not roomy enough for two kids in my opinion!
@vrj0522 I am kind of a bag whore. My favorites over the past two years have been the Kate Spade Stevie and literally anything by Storksak, they have great organization, don't trend too bulky and look more purselike.
Just retook the 1 hour glucose test- hoping that I passed!! I got 134 last time and I had (stupidly) eaten a granola bar for breakfast. This time I didn't eat or drink anything but the glucola. I don't mind doing the 3 hour but after I went last week at the crack of dawn and they didn't have the order I realized retaking the 1 hour might be better.
I had a Skip Hop diaper bag last time that was OK- DH is the stay at home parent so whatever works for him goes! Right now that is a kid size darth Vader backpack.
I registered for and got the JuJuBe BFF diaper bag. I really like: -It has a light-colored interior, which is supposed to make it easier to find things inside. -It has back back straps and a long shoulder strap, both of which are fully removable. The backpack straps are very well padded -It has tons of different pockets for staying organized -The whole thing can go in the washing machine!
I'm not sure I'll love: -It seems a little heavy without anything in it yet.

We got a SkipHop gray messenger bag style diaper bag from Amazon. DH was really picky about that.. Got it packed up this weekend!
Had my baby shower this weekend and all went well except for a couple of my best friends flaking out and not showing up. I was/am pretty upset about it. I admittedly cried when I first got there and told my sister that 3 of them had canceled just an hour before with BS excuses. I see them all at my bowling league tomorrow and not really sure how to address it.
On top of that I am really cranky and tired. Not getting any sleep at all and frustrated with people in general. I did NOT feel moody like this the first 28 weeks of my pregnancy...
@vrj0522 I have the PPB boxy backpack and used it with DD1 and then with DD2. I felt like it had enough storage for two kids, but by that poor t DD2 really only needed a sippy cup, snack cup, and maybe 1-2 pull-ups for a short while. My PPB is still in good condition so I have it to use for this LO, but I also got a new Skip Hop bag just to change things up since it gets boring carrying the same bag for 5 years basically!

Ughhh I was up half the night vomiting, not the way to start to week! I'm still feeling pretty nauseous today and just eating saltines. While I love to feel LO kick, it does not make the upset stomach feel any better!

Baby girl flipped head down about a week ago and has really been doing a number on my hips since then. I can feel her just punching the insides of them (and my bladder) throughout the day. Last night was the first night where my hips were actually painful through the night. I've been sore/achy before, but this was like a searing pain. Hooray, third tri.
@vjr0522 I actually like the tote style the best. I also don't get anything too expensive because it gets beat up over the course of a year. With DD we used a Carters tote style that we got for free at BRU during one of their promotions. As long as its big enough for diapers, wipes, extra clothes, and any bottles etc. that's all we need.

I'm full of it this morning... 1. Had my baby shower this weekend, that was pretty cool! They did an amazing job on decor, it was SO cute! Still a lot of stuff we need (especially our 2 big ticket items). @jayandaplus How was yours?!
2. H is definitely going to lose his job. The small company he works for got a new contract that only has 2 slots available and those 2 slots are going to the 2 owners of his company. He's started submitting and looking and probably still has a couple months, but we're stressed. Such bad timing.
3. Last night I felt baby moving/ kicking l-o-w. I'm talking, well below my low rise underwear. It didn't feel like a head, but maybe a hand up above the head? Anyways, I didn't think it was possible to feel movement so low at this point and it's a little freaky.
@fbmandy55 ugh, I'm sorry That happened at my bridal shower and I actually lost some of those friends after that. I didn't have many people to invite to my baby shower so it really sucks when people flake
@fbmandy55 that's a bummer sorry to hear that. Hope your week is better than your weekend
@Jens_Hoes have a great time in FL, the weather has been lovely!
its just me and DD this week. DH had to work out of town so he'll be away for the next 5 days. Today's plans consist of laundry and jamming out to music. And lots of playing!
@nda_roxybabe - I hope your H finds something soon! Also, we need some pics of your and @jayandaplus' (and anyone else who wants to share) baby showers.
@fbmandy55 - I'm sorry that happened. I hate when people flake out, especially if the shower is already small as it is.

@nda_roxybabe I'm sorry to hear about your H's job. I hope he finds something quickly. Also, I know what you mean about the low movements. I just mentioned how my LO flipped head down recently. Since then, I've been feeling a lot of jabs down low, including to my bladder and *cough* right behind, and it's definitely a bit startling.
I have my 28w appointment today and I don't want to go. I have gotten so fat in the past 6 weeks since my last appointment and I don't want to face the music.

@WombThereItIs I laughed out loud at this. This is me today! I ate so much cake for my DH birthday this weekend I'm horrified what the scale will say. Yes, I know it's just a number but I don't want to have a billion pounds to lose after LO just because I ate too much!
@fbmandy55 sorry your friends flaked out. That would make me sad too. I hope it was still a good time at the shower even though you were disappointed.
@nda_roxybabe sorry DH is going to lose his job. Hopefully he will get something soon!
Good morning, everyone!! Hopefully Monday isn't completely sucking for everyone.
@Jens_Hoes - enjoy Florida for all of us stuck in reality this week!!
@WombThereItIs - close your eyes during the weigh in!! Seriously, though, that's the worst part of every doctor's visit and I'm always on the defensive just waiting for my doctor to say something!
@starphish18 - I feel like I could have written your post word for word. This hip pain is absurd. I went to the chiropractor on Wed and got almost immediate relief, but by Friday it was back to being awful. I'm going to start getting adjustments weekly, but this little girl needs to cut me some slack!!
@nda_roxybabe - so sorry to hear about your husband and his job. FX that he's able to find something easily so you're not having to worry about this on top of being pregnant!
Would it be lame if we AW'd showers in a thread? Mine isn't for a long time but I would love to hear about and see pics from everyone's baby celebrations. If that's not something everyone is interested in NBD, but if people are I'd love to hear all about them!
@nda_roxybabe: 1. Yay for getting your big-ticket items! 2. Sorry about the job. You're right about the timing not being great, but things will turn around, even if takes time. 3. Re low movements: It's amazing the areas I feel movements in---super high near my ribs, crazy off to the side (like, how can the ute be that wide?!), and down low practically taking up residence inside my bladder (@starphish18), and the best are the punches and kicks at the same time diagonally (like down right and high left). I still feel hugely "full" and think his growth is far outpacing the belly growth
I'll weigh in on the diaper bag debate! I have a Kipling and have used constantly for almost three years and will use with this LO, too. It has held up really well - mine's a black patent that I'm not sure they make any more but I've seen a more nylon type that they typically carry which looks sturdy as well. Lots of storage and it's not as heavy as others I've seen unless it's packed full like mine lol.
@rkstro2: yes, do start a baby showers thread! People like seeing those kinds of pics (decor, food, glowing mamas). And you could title it to include maternity photos, too, maybe, if you worry there's not a lot of interest, so it could be one big celebration thread, just a thought.
@ChristinaWild Oh, I never look! I tell them to not even say it aloud because I weigh myself in the morning before food and getting dressed so I know the "real" number, haha.
@nda_roxybabe so sorry about your husband. Maybe this might have a silver lining and he ends up with a better paying position? My husband was unemployed from feb 2015 till the beginning of august and my son was born aug 31st that year. I was like ummm when you gonna get a job!! It was helpful in that he got the whole baby room put together and painted and organized after the shower because he wasn't doing anything else! He is now a GM for advance auto 20 mins from our house and he gets a monthly bonus if he meets his sales its been great so I hope you guys also get a great new job!
In regards to the low motion feeling at my last cervix ultrasound my little lady is head down on my cervix no fluid barrier anymore which was there two weeks ago. I really feel a ton in the bladder and back end these days! I also feel her way over to the right like her feet and knees must be over there its so much different than my son. He was polite, she is def not
