@starphish18 Fingers crossed the monitor shows no concerns, but sounds like your doctor is on the right track to take extra precautions with your family history!

@starphish18 I think it was pretty much all the time. I do remember it was a lot worse when I was up and moving but I think I was short of breath for about two months straight. FX you're experiencing the same thing and nothing more serious!
@emilyalso I haven't actually done a big update in a while. There's not much to update right now. I'm continuing with chemo every three weeks (my third is tomorrow) and growth scans every four weeks for the baby (who is still growing great!). Assuming all goes well with the next two chemos I'll have a mastectomy at the end of April. I imagine after the mastectomy I'll have an update when they get the pathology back from the boob they're cutting off. The one minor update I do have is that the tumor is definitely shrinking. After two chemos the Nurse Practitioner said today that she's have trouble even distinguishing between what is cancer and what is normal breast tissue which is very reassuring and makes all this treatment seem completely worth it.
So in light of recent events im a bit on edge and wanting the babes to cook as long as possible. I sneezed and peed a little so went to the bathroom but then everytime i thought i was finished more and more and more came out in little gushes at the time.. Like probably 10 times. So i stood up assuming i was done and it trickled down my leg... Then i held a tissue there to catch some and (gross, i know) made my husband smell to see if it smelled like pee. He cant smell anything. I looked to see if i had any pads but i dont so i put some toilet paper folded in my underwear and am laying down but feel like i can still feel small amounts coming out.
Im wondering if im leaking fluid but dont know if this can wait so i can just call my ob at 8 am (who already thinks im such a worrier) or if i need to go to l&d... I already went once with dd and it was just pee (thankfully) but it was embarrassing!
I really hope its not amniotic fluid but that would mean its pee, and in that case, sorry to have told yall all about peeing myself!
@Jkp7749 Does your OB have an after hours line you can call? I think it's always better to ask the experts and I know I wouldn't sleep well worrying about it.
Feb 2012: DS1 born 40w2d, 7 lb 11 oz, 20" May 2014: DS2 born 40w3d, 10 lb, 23"
@Jkp7749 we always tell anyone who calls that if they feel they might be leaking fluid to come get it checked out. It's always better to check for sure and be reassured it's just pee then find out later that it wasn't.
@Jkp7749 Considering your doctor just put you on modified bed rest and has decided to give you steroid shots, I would be extra safe and go in to get it checked out rather than wait til the morning! Or definitely at least call your doctors after hours number!

I'm so torn! I checked the "pad" and there was nothing and i just peed a whole bunch more so i can't imagine that I'm not empty! i just feel leaky but whenever i check, its not wet now! I'm thinking i just drank too much?? I feel pretty certain its pee now that ive checked a few times, so im thinking ill wait a little longer... If nothing else happens I'll call in the morning since its not that long but if any more happens I'll call right away
@Jkp7749 Definitely do not worry about calling too much or going into triage. Even if you didn't have the other context (modified bed rest), I'd encourage you to call. Follow your gut mama Fingers crossed that you keep those sweet growing babies in longer! You're doing great
@Jkp7749 I really hope it's nothing but agree with others, it's best to just call. I got sick the day before I was admitted and I swore it was the McDonald's I had for lunch. The doctor informed me otherwise. My body was already exhibiting pre-eclampsia. Whenever in doubt, just go ahead and call.
Dear diary over here but I'm feeling sorry for myself and wishing I could call into work today. I've about recovered from my cold but it has all settled/hardened into my sinuses and I have the headache from hell. As in, I tossed and turned all night until it was late enough to take an Excedrin. I am not sure how I will take care of patients for 12 hours if this doesn't improve. I am glad I was at the Dr yesterday with normal BP or I'd be worried about that too. Sorry I'm just having a pity party over here and needed to get it out into the world. Thanks for listening

Ugh hugs. This as me yesterday. I hope you start to feel better throughout the day.
Just got off the phone with my nurse! Drs are in a meeting and ill hear back around 9ish... She seemed to think they must be on my bladder too (at my us monday they couldnt believe how low they both were so that coukd totally be it)but my office is really cautious thank goodness so shes talking with them.
@SKZW - I love that you bought your son a doll!! We bought DS a baby girl doll when we found out we were expecting, and call the doll by the baby's name. DS is adorable with it. He's only 1 1/2, so I didn't have a lot of expectations with it, but we've kind of worked on the right way to sit with the baby and taught him "soft" so that when he touches her, he wont be Hulk Smashing her. He also regularly plays with baby dolls at daycare - I actually just got a video of it from them yesterday. He was holding the doll up to his shoulder like you would a regular baby and walking around patting its back. I can say honestly that we haven't taken it that far, so I'm not sure how he picked up on that but it was pretty damn cute! The only comments I've gotten about it are from my brother, but he's basically a Neanderthal so I was expecting it.
@chocolatelemons - I wouldn't worry too much about your weight unless your doctor brings it up. The baby does a lot of growth during the third trimester, and so you may find that you gain 10 pounds out of no where in the coming weeks!! I have a coworker who had trouble gaining enough weight, and her doctor just had her add Ensure to her diet on a daily basis the last 2 months of her pregnancy.
@SKZW , the stove is really awesome--my son's favorite part is that you can pump the water through the faucet, so it's sort of like a functioning sink. DEFINITELY a score for $14.

@kns1988 so sorry about the house. It's so disappointing when that happens but being able to hold back from buying it is the best thing in the long run. You will find another house that won't be broken. And also sorry about your adventures yesterday. I can't believe there are people out there still being so rude and hateful. Im glad you eventually made it to the class!
This. I work for a Realtors Association and this is absolutely correct. Sadly, the process doesn't always work out for the best. It's just a sad reality of home buying. I hope this happened for a reason and you find something even better that comes along!
@SKZW , should have mentioned this in my comment about the sink, but it's early and I haven't finished my coffee...we bought DS a doll for his 2nd birthday (before we were expecting) and he's just been kinda "meh" about it. Of course, I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find an anatomically correct baby boy doll, haha...I do hear from daycare that since finding out about baby sister on the way, he's been playing with dolls every now and then. It's so funny how societal gender roles manifest themselves so early--my son LOVES trucks, balls, stuffed animals, and super heroes (serious WTF on that one, because we have never had a single super hero thing in our house mostly just because I hate licensed kids junk). But has no interest in dolls, princesses, dress up, etc (even though we encourage open play and discourage traditional gender roles). He does, however, have an affinity for flamingos and all things pink, but recently has started telling me "mommy, my favorite color is blue". Sigh.
@Kipperoo it will be interesting if he is super into the baby once baby sis arrives! We bought DD an American Girl Doll Bitty baby and I am thinking about getting her a couple of outfits and diaper bag so she can change the baby while I change the baby etc. I already bought her a baby doll carrier! (A kids Lillebaby) I'm super excited about that.
@SKZW the no gender norms has been so cool for us to watch with DD and DS. We basically buy 2 of the same/similar smaller toys and have never pushed any one toy on one more than the other. DD loves dinosaurs, trucks and "her babies", I probably never would've known this if we only had her. DS will occasionally play with the dolls and stuff but it is rare to see him without a car or truck in his hand.
@SKZW we bought my son a baby doll for Christmas and he aactually really likes it! When we were in Disneyland last month he also really wanted a Moana doll (similar to a Barbie) so we got that as well. They definitely don't get played with as often as the legos and cars, but every so often he will get them out and cover them up, get them a bottle, etc. It's the cutest! One of his favorite make believe games right now is also when he asks me to be the baby and he pretends to be the mama. He has me ask him for bottles, puts me down for "nap" and reads me books.
@Kipperoo we've had the same experience with DS! We never pushed any typically "male" stuff on him and it's amazing how he gravitated to trucks and other machines. He's also obsessed with dinosaurs. We bought him a doll too to get ready for the the baby and while he has occasionally shown an interest he's pretty ambivalent to it.
Why oh why do people say oh youre tiny! Are you trying to make me feel horrible. I dont feel tiny and im doing my best!
So far, theyre testing the fluid.. Im 50% effaced too, i ost 3 lbs since monday... Im not kidding when i say there was sooooo much pee(?assuming that is what it is) and ill be doing an nst.
@Jkp7749 Your belly is beautiful. Screw all the people who say you look too small or ready to pop. Seriously. Fingers crossed for you! Many many STMs have a cervix that starts changing early - wishing good gestating thoughts for you.
Ok ladies I'm having what feels exactly like my RLP but it's not going away. It's sharp pain on my left side that is worse with movement. If it keeps going I am going to text my OB but it's frustrating me. Has anyone had RLP not associated with a specific movement? Usually I have it when I get up out of a chair or if I'm rolling over in bed or something and then it goes away. This is alright but not gone when im resting but pretty persistent when I'm walking or moving.

Nevertheless, she persisted.
I was just going to post about this. As I was getting ready today (and picking out my red), DH said, "Wait, shouldn't I wear red today?" I was all, "I dunno. I mean, your're a man so..." and he got all defensive and said, "I care about the women in my life!" He was already dressed so he changed his shirt to something red. Anyway, yay women!
@Kipperoo - I got my 2.5-year-old a baby Stella doll for xmas, and he's pretty indifferent. He has, however, taken a fancy to the stuffed pink flamingo I bought for the baby's room. Apparently, it's HIS "fahmingo" now.
@ShadeofGreen816 - I would recommend going to the doctor if your sinuses don't clear up soon. I am finally goung today after 3 weeks of misery because my cold is more like a sinus infection that I wish would've have been treated sooner. Sorry that you're not feeling well!
@Jkp7749 - FX for you! Also, why do people always think it's ok to comment on bumps? No, just no.
