I have a random... 2nd tri is here!!! So excited! I'm still exhausted and nauseated all the time but I remember that lasting 1-2 weeks into 2nd tri before and the burst of energy lasting 1-2 weeks into 3rd tri so hopefully it's something similar this time around. Admittedly though, the energy burst was not great my second pregnancy, probably because of how exhausting running after a toddler is just by itself.

I also have a question for anyone who has had SPD in prior pregnancies... anything that you are doing or can do to combat it this time? I had it bad the last 5-6 weeks ith DD and all while BFing and while I am not doing great at working out consistently right now, whenever I run more than 3-4 miles, I start to feel SPD discomfort. It's still very mild but it's worrisome that it's here already when I don't even have a pregnancy bump yet.

I had SPD with my last pregnancy, (well both previous pregnancies really but far worse last time) with my last it was worse postpartum and took nearly 9 months to fully calm down. No fun. My doc told me that if/when it happens this time there are some physical therapy exercises that I can do to try to keep it from becoming as severe as it was for me last time. I did a quick search the other day and found some things (yoga etc) online that are supposed to help... really hoping to stay ahead of it this time... SPD is awful.

Feeling like the 2nd trimester will NEVER get here! I am having the worst insomnia. I am exhausted all day and can barely keep my eyes open anywhere I am but I lay down in my bed and I can't sleep for anything. I am going on 3 hours of sleep today. I have never had this before and it is killing me!
Looking for a little trip to take DS on this winter. We live in MI and don't want a long flight or long drive time once we get to our destination. Thinking maybe somewhere in the US but in the south... DS is 15 months old and loves to swim/play in water. Anyone have any kid friendly recommendations?
Taking the kids trick or treating later tonight, they are going to be dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf (I am totally in love with their costumes).
Besides that I am wanting to try a prenatal yoga, like a video or something I could YouTube.

@lrwardrop what about something like Great Wolf Lodge? There is one in Grapevine right out side of Dallas (5ish minutes from the airport), and they have a very kid and toddler friendly indoor water park. There's also a ton of attractions near by and you can take the train to the stockyards in Fort Worth.
Hang in there @JonesBaby0624 ! I felt horrible weeks 8-12 too. I was fatigued, depressed and unmotivated to do anything. It was distracting me at work, and I didn't want to have sex (sorry to be TMI) but I never felt that way before. Then it finally started to lift in week 13 and I feel like myself again!! I know everyone is different but I hope these words of encouragement help!
Just got word we are likely moving in June or early July.
I am due May 24.
Anyone move with a toddler and newborn and survive? Or any of my fellow DoD spouses have experience moving a PCS date? I would almost rather go early because the new base would be SO much nicer but I don't know if that's an option.I feel queasy just thinking about it.
Anyone know whether or not we can use Icyhot? I'm having some back pain everyday, I'm pretty sure it's my sciatica. I'd really like to use IcyHot, but I have a feeling it is off limits. I see my Dr on Friday, and I can ask then. Anyone have any recommendations for things to do/use with lower back pain/butt pain? I've been getting butt massages from my DH, which has been fantastic, but that only lasts a few minutes.
@chickyclg I have done prenatal yoga with all of my pregnancies. It helps SO much. My goal was to get my body ready for labor and delivery. Some focus on weight gain and getting their bodies back. I wanted to get through this horrible thing I had heard about. So, I tried so many thing, yoga being one. Sorry if TMI, with my first, I was fully effaced and dilated to a 3 the day I walked in to be induced. My body was prepared! I did opt for an epidural because I'm no one's hero and I wanted to get it done. My DS was born 4 hours later. No tears, no stitches. It was so easy. I FULLY recommend prenatal yoga.

Thanks for the suggestion. We have something similar and not too far from us that we already have reservations for. My DH really wants to travel out of town with DS since it will be our "first and last trip" with just one baby... but to me it seems like its going to be a lot of work lol.
@WombThereItIs We did a PCS with a 6 week old and 2 year old! It wasn't as awful as I thought it would be. I chose to fly (with the kids by myself) and my husband and his dad drove our cars. I just couldn't imagine how long it would take us to drive having to stop all the time to breastfeed a newborn! I have heard of some change of dates for orders because of pregnancy but I think it was usually the date pushed back. Yours would have to be moved up quite a bit since you couldn't really travel past 36 weeks. But it doesn't hurt to ask if his new job is available early! Also, a positive for traveling after you have the baby is you get more per diem and DLA since you have an additional dependent.

@Jenshoes I don't remember if Icy Hot is allowed but I'm almost positive it's not. I ended up with a referral to physical therapy because of sciatic pain with my first DD. I'm starting to have some pain already with this one but I'm trying my best to do some yoga stretches, especially while my belly isn't big and in the way! Basically when I was in physical therapy it was trying to do stretches and low impact excercises to help strengthen my core muscles.

@JonesBaby0624 I'm right there with you, I'm 10 weeks 2 days today and feeling like 2nd tri will never get here. I felt SO good during 2nd tri my last pregnancy so part of me is also a little worried that I'm building it up a little too much in my head and I'm going to be disappointed, but it has to be better than this.
@Jenshoes - I had random back pains with my last pregnancy and got pretty good relief from a small TENS unit. I don't think it was too expensive - maybe $25? - so it might be worth a try.

Thank you! That is pretty much exactly what I needed to hear. He will probably get his RFO in February or so and will ask about dates then. His MOS is a bit different so how things work in his corner of the army are often all kinds of backwards.
Mostly I just really want to deliver at the other hospital because it is great and this one sucks. I had our first here and I am not looking forward to a repeat. My doc is great though.
@MamaMiller yes! Working retail I'm always a season ahead, but I am a huge holiday lover too. I would put up my Christmas stuff tomorrow if I could, and I start listening to Christmas music long before Thanksgiving. #sorrynotsorry
@Vrj0522 I wish I had an open face shocked meme right now. I can't walk up the stairs without getting out of breath. I cannot imagine running 3- 4 miles at this point. I used to walk that much a day and even walking around the block sucks now.

Very true- I will TRY and hold off on Christmas music for atleast two more weeks- I will blame it on my kids- they are at such a fun age where the get the magic of the season and don't think I am too crazy yet!
@RainyDays86 yep, I am 10 weeks 5 days. I am so miserable this week. My DS (10) keeps coming an hugging me because he can tell how bad I feel. Yesterday he said "This baby is sucking the life out of you and I don't like it". I had to tell him he did the same thing, so hopefully he won't hate this baby.
@Jenshoes - have you tried a chiropractor? I saw one during my first pregnancy and keeping my hips aligned made a world of difference. I've been seeing one every 2 weeks since finding out we were expecting again. I missed last week and I can definitely tell! If you can find someone who has experience with prenatal care, it's a huge help and our insurance covered up to 20 visits, so I just paid my normal copay.
@Jenshoes I have an appointment in an hour so I can ask about icyhot or what can be used instead, if I remember to! I have had some discomfort in my tailbone area too so I might as well.
@jenshoes idk about IcyHot, but heat or ice works for me. I've had bad sciatic pain since birthing DD. There are some stretches that help and sometimes I lay on the floor and put a tennis ball under the offending butt cheek. That helps a bit too.
@FlyChick I was going to ask if anyone was feeling winded. I can barely go up or down a flight of stairs with pausing to breath. I don't remember this happening this early with DD.
@WombThereItIs Totally understand about wanting to deliver at the better hospital! And remember, nothing's set in stone in the military until your actually on your way lol. Maybe his orders will get pushed up without even having to ask! I hope at least you got orders to somewhere nice!!

@Notaplaya-justcrushalot It's awful! I got winded and felt out of shape with DS but not this early at all. I seriously was in decent shape at the start of this pregnancy and thought I'd be able to just keep doing what I had been doing to avoid being as miserable as last time. But I had like maybe 2 weeks where the ms was too bad to do more than lie around. Then all of a sudden I feel a bit better and BAM. Can't walk.

I am so winded with this pregnancy! It's annoying because I also don't remember it happening this early with my first. I live on a hill and yesterday we walked down to town and the walk back up nearly killed me. My husband was like "WTF is wrong with you?"...I applaud anyone that can still run AT ALL!
I need to get back into the prenatal yoga...it really helped with my last pregnancy. I did a DVD that was only like 15 minutes/day and really low impact and it was really helpful.
@chickyclg haha! I seriously texted my mom&dad yesterday and asked if they would like to have my 2 yr old DD shipped to them they happily agreed to take her! She had a horrible day yesterday, today is much better! Hopefully your LO stops the tantrums
We are leaving tomorrow night to go on vacation and I still have so much to do, but I'm too exhausted to do any of it. So I'm sitting here on the couch eating instead. Woops. At least DS is napping. He's been ok a strike lately and running after a toddler all day with no break had been kicking my butt lately.
@WombThereItIs I moved when DD was 3 months old because DH deployed and there was no way I was staying at Fort Hood by myself. I would do something like @h&pmomma said and fly or see if you can get another adult to help out. We took 3 days to drive from Texas to Virginia. I had a cooler with milk for each day that I pumped and I BF every three-five hours. My dad drove a lot and I sat in the back and pumped with my hand pump to replenish the milk. At the hotels I would throw the ice packs and milk in the freezer/fridge and do the same thing the next day.
It sucks, but it can be done. I'm moving 7 months pregnant so I'm not sure what way I would rather have it. Luckily it's only a 9 hour drive. How far are y'all going?
My RANDOM is that I had never seen a 2d US of a face in the womb. Today we got to see our little baby's face and its the sweetest start to my morning/ week
@FlyChick I actually get winded easily too but for some reason it's different when I run. The first few minutes I have to go slowly but then I get in the groove quickly. I'm shocked almost every time at how easy my run was compared to how I was feeling before starting it.

@WombThereItIs - We moved with a 2 yr old and a 2 1/2 wk old and it wasn't that bad for 2 reasons. First I did a ton of packing before the baby came and secondly, my mom stayed with us until we moved which especially helped with the unpacking. We seriously unpacked in like 4 days because of how helpful she was.
