@FlyChick@Kipperoo@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot add me to the winded club too. This just started this past weekend. WTF? I was giving my son a bath this morning and probably from all the leaning over, I had to take like 3 breaks! Lol! Also, we had a fun-filled day of kid-friendly Halloween activities but I'm so fatigued/winded that here we are at home... at least we're carving pumpkins (we = husband).
@lrwardrop Ashville,NC is really fun if you like a little more outdoorsy of a town! Atlanta, GA has a lot of great things to do with kids, if you want more of a big city feel.
@MamaMiller I love the holidays! The next couple months are my favorite time of year because of the cheer and getting to see family so much.
I'm right there with all the ladies getting winded. It's been like this for me since week 6. Flight of stairs, just talking and walking at the same time, carrying anything...winded.
Today has been the worst day of my pregnancy so far. I've been on planes all day and nauseated 95% of the time. On my first flight, there was a girl across the aisle from me with the flu who was literally throwing up throughout the flight. I could barely keep it together. I'm so exhausted just from focusing so hard on not being sick. I'm home now, but I still feel so unsteady. It just won't let up. And with the whole winded thing, I had to stop several times in the airport on my way from one terminal to the other. Oh, and I had to unbutton my pants early on, because apparently the bigger pants I bought are no longer big enough. This is so much fun, guys!
@chickyclg@JonesBaby0624 I think I'm going to get on the prenatal yoga train, thanks for the tip. My flexibility is laughable.
This may need a gross-out warning, but we're all in the trenches together - right??
At about 6 weeks I had to take an antibiotic and ended up with my first ever yeast infection. I have had another since then. I know that panty liners can contribute to those and that things down there need to breathe, but there's so much... um... production... that if I went without I would have to change underwear several times per day.
14 weeks yesterday, and literally just had my first round of actual throwing up. Nausea came and went the first several weeks, but BAM as soon as my ticker said second tri nausea lets up, I wake up at 3AM and got to be sick for a few hours. What the heck body?!
@starphish18 I'm sorry you had such an awful flight experience! I'm flying today for the first time since getting pregnant, and I'm worried about it--I don't do well with flying anyways (I get panic attacks up there but OB said I could still take meds for it) and the nausea won't help, but I'm glad that I'm at least traveling with two friends. Your story combines two of my biggest fears: throwing up (me or someone near me) and flying! I'm sorry you had to go through that and I'm glad you're back home safely! Hopefully you can get some rest.
@emilyalso I feel ya. My "production" has been pretty mild but fairly constant...until yesterday, when (*TMI warning*) I had a large, sudden gush that worried me enough to call the nurse line (they said it was fine). So now it's constant and not as mild. I had been able to not use panty liners for a while, but now I might have to be on them again (and I hear it gets worse). I'm not sure what my plan will be, but I'm thinking that I will only wear them when I'm out and about; at home, I'll probably just let things be so everything can breathe, since at home I can go to the bathroom more and not worry about it as much. Hope this helps! FTM here, so I'm sure some STM+s will have some better advice to share!
Also, +1 for the holidays and getting into the Christmas spirit/decor way before it's socially acceptable!
I ended up binging on Halloween candy last night and am regretting it this morning. I feel so sick this morning. Anyone else have no will power when it comes to candy?
@jellybeanqueen13, yes! We had a neighborhood party and there was pizza and then I had a brownie and a few pieces of candy and I feel like crap today. That combined with waking up at 4 am and not being able to go back to sleep until after 5 (for a whole hour) is going to make for a rough day.
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
@Jellybeanqueen13 I feel the same way! Except, I feel it about all food! No willpower... ever!
I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today. My skinny jeans won't really fit well at the waist. I'm short (5'2) and my torso is about 3 inches long, therefore all pants are basically at my belly button. Both of my SIL are taller than me (5'9 and 5'6) and thus have longer torsos. I've talked to them about maternity pants, etc, and they both said they fit into their skinny jeans their entire pregnancies. I'm at week 10 and change! I know that it has to do with the length of my torso, but jesus, that's an impossible standard to live up to! I guess I cannot really worry about what pants I fit into, and more so focus on not gaining bad weight.
@Jenshoes Your SILs must have won the genetic lottery to be able to fit into the same pants their entire pregnancy. It sounds super uncomfortable to me. I broke up with my skinny jeans around 8 weeks, lol. Although I wouldn't mind finding a cute pair of skinny maternity jeans.
@Jenshoes I broke up with my jeans a week or two ago. I also have no torso and love me some pants up to my belly button so they stopped fitting really early. No shame, I am comfy as hell right now.
I did have to go shopping since my old maternity jeans are too big (YAY!) but I'm having a hell of a time finding a good pair because of my butt. It's large and in charge. I find that the jeans part stops too low and doesn't come all the way over my love lady humps before it turns to stretchy panel. Sure the panel covers the crack but they don't stay up that way.
I had a Gap pair that I honk worked last time but I need to size down a bit. Anyone have good luck with big booty maternity jeans?
Ps. Anyone not sure if they popped or just are massively constipated? #glamorous #klassy I'm only 11w tomorrow but this thing is just as big as when I went to bed.
@jellybeanqueen13 and @march2008 I am so in the same boat as you both. I binge ate candy while my husband was gone watching the Bears game. Feeling sorry for myself and watching Hocus Pocus clearly wasn't a good option for me. I have a stomachache from all the sugar today
@wombtheritis no suggestions but following for big booty jeans! I have this problem in general anyway because I'm "well endowed" in the booty department. Luckily I'm still in my pre-preg jeans thanks to losing 13 lbs so far (although I can't figure out where it came from because I dont feel any thinner!) but I know I'll be needing maternity jeans soon!
@Jenshoes, the only pants I was able to wear throughout my entire previous pregnancies were stretchy yoga pants, and even those weren't as comfortable as maternity pants.
@WombThereItIs I still can't tell if mine is a bump or bloat. I look in the mirror and sometimes it really looks like I'm pregnant, other times, not so much. Sometimes my stomach feels firm like a baby bump, other times not so much. I think mine is mostly bloat.
I really hope a HDBD gets started this week, bc I am so curious how everyone else's is looking.
@Jellybeanqueen13@WombThereItIs@mcvgal Thank you guys, you definitely made me feel better. They really do have genetic gold. None of them have been overweight, or even close to overweight. My one SIL looks better than me before I got pregnant and after she had three kids! I guess I just need to stop comparing myself to them. They're just the only pregnant people I've really been close with, so its hard to not. I love this community, you guys always make me feel better.
Speaking of HDBD, when are we starting? I have been so lazy and have not taken my own weekly pictures this time. With DS1 I never thought to do it but really wished I would have. With DS2 I started at about 9 weeks and kept at it though about 24 weeks, then we moved and I simply did not keep it up. But I go back and look at those pictures and it's nice to have a picture memory of it.
@Jenshoes I'll jump on too and say that even as a tall girl with a long torso (5'8") I was in maternity pants by 16ish weeks last pregnancy and at 10 weeks I'm already doing the hairtie trick this time around. I'll be in maternity pants very soon. And honestly, they are the best thing ever! Going back to regular jeans for the last few years was rough
I'm not sure if it was due to all the sugar I ate yesterday or what, but I threw up this morning 3 times and I'm still feeling really, really awful. We luckily have some Pedialyte popsicles frozen from sometime ago when DD was sick and I'm trying one of them to see if I can keep at least that down. UGH.
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
And there is no way that my pre-pregnancy skinny jeans fit me now. In fact, I'm already wearing maternity pants at 12 weeks (STM). I made it until I think 16 weeks with my first pregnancy but this time I switched early out of comfort. I just wear regular shirts with them and roll down the panel once (makes it like a belly band) andnobody can tell.
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
@march2008 I agree to transition into maternity pants for comfort. I feel way better this way at work, almost as if I'm at home. Now I just need some slippers haha
@CarmCeG oh I'm all over the comfy feet too. Foldable stretchy flats are my go to. I got a bunch when I swelled up at the end of last time and my shoes stopped fitting and they're great.
@march2008 I hope you feel better! Same thing hit me this morning and I'm positive now that it's not pregnancy related and I've got some kind of bug. Can't even keep down a few sips of Gatorade or ice chips. If it doesn't get better in an hour I've been instructed to go to the ER for fluids being pregnant and sick is so awful! I sure hope you don't have the same thing!!
@L1C4gal I had a terrible flight first tri of my last pregnancy because I didn't bring enough to eat. If hunger is causing nausea for you, I would highly, highly recommend bringing lots of snacks.
@Jellybeanqueen13 and @Jenshoes I am the exact same way. No self control. I actually took all of DS's halloween candy and brought it into work (he has no idea what it is and won't miss it) so that we wouldn't have it in the house and I've already eaten two pieces. Its not even 10 am...
@jenshoes one more person who can't fathom how anyone stays in regular jeans passed around 20 weeks at the latest. I think I moved to maternity pants around that point last time and the only reason I waited as long as I did was because my bump was super high. I'm already struggling with my regular pants and I'm only 10 weeks. And also, as some PPs said, I don't know why you would want to stay in regular jeans, even if you technically could. It just sounds so uncomfortable. I can't wait for maternity pants.
I am feeling everyone on the bloat baby. I am wearing nylons with spanx over them today because apparently I hate myself. The fitted dress I stupidly decided to wear is not hiding a dang thing. Probably gonna tell my boss today because of it.
@WombThereItIs I feel you on the booty issue. I can't remember what jeans/pants worked best for me last time, but if you find something do share. Last time at about 36 weeks I decided to measure my belly and butt (again I think I hate myself!) and they were the same size! Every inch my belly grew forward my butt grew backward. I looked like a walking s.
@WombThereItIs I need some like those! Max comfort is my go to outfit these days. I didn't even dress up for Halloween and I was so excited to. I ended up wearing my PJs "costume"
Thanks @RainyDays86! I have some granola bars but I'm going to stock up on some other stuff on my way out for variety (and volume). I appreciate the tip!
@CherylE418, oh no. I'm so sorry! I hope it passes quickly and that you won't have to go to the ER!!
So far my Pedialyte Popsicle and a few sips of water have been a success. I still feel super queasy but at least it hasn't come back up. I might just stick with clear fluids today, like chicken broth, just in case!
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
Sorry for you other ladies who are feeling sick. I'm almost 11 weeks, and for some reason, I've thrown up once a day for the past three days. Dinnertime especially is just not agreeing with me. With my first kid, I never threw up except for one day mid-pregnancy when I picked up a 24 hr stomach bug, and my nausea went away at 9 weeks. Not so lucky this time! Hopefully this resolves before Thanksgiving!
Married since 8.2.08 DS born 8.11.14 BFP #2: 9.14.16, EDD: 5.24.17
DH took yesterday off from work so I could go in for my 2+hrs long appointment without having to worry about taking care of DD. My PGAL brain got a peace of mind once I heard the heartbeat. Anyways I did lurk a bit, but am now just catching up!! And here is one big cluster of responses instead of breaking it up!
@lrwardrop I don't know if traveling to Florida is an option? The beaches in the wintertime is great, I would just avoid Miami because of the Zika virus (at least according to my midwife)
@WombThereItIs Hopefully you figure out your moving situation, and that going sooner is even an option. Otherwise, nesting instinct will help you prepare early?
@Jenshoes I suck and forgot to ask about IcyHot. I'm sorry =( I did mention discomfort in my lower back and she didn't even offer any suggestions. She just asked if it was happening all the time or occasional. She didn't seem concerned when I said occasional.
@emilyalso I haven't had an infection but I don't wear a pantyliner when I go to bed. I don't feel gross overnight so it seems like a great time to let things breath ha. Maybe you can try that? And I would make sure that the pantyliners are not scented. The scented kind irritate the hell out of me.
Regarding HDBD, I'm on board seeing this starting already! It's still all bloat here, but I think I started around 15 weeks last time and because of HDBD I took a picture every week. It's fun to look back and see the progress! Goal for this one is to have the same colored top on.
To everybody feeling sick, feel better soon!
My random/question..... So DD and I are going to TX to visit family and friends next week (and I'll finally get to tell my friends in person the great news). My sister is also coming so she can see DD too since it's been awhile. My mom basically offered to treat the two of us to a massage but I have no idea if it's even okay to get one. I will be around 13ish weeks then. The massage place said they offer prenatal once you're in the 2nd tri. Thoughts?
I don't know how anyone stays in skinny jeans. I'm 5'7" and a size 0-2 and my jeans haven't fit comfortably since 10 weeks and I've only gained 3ish lbs. Getting some maternity jeans tomorrow!
@pshaortao I would get the massage! I got a massage when I was overdue with my DS and she thoroughly massaged all of those pressure point areas that are supposed to help trigger labor.. definitely didn't work but massages are great in general. Its also nice when your further along because they have these special tables that have an opening for your belly so you can lay on your stomach. Obviously just tell them your pregnant and they will stay away from those special areas.
@shadeofgreen816@wombthereitis Last pregnancy, I had luck with both gap and old navy maternity jeans... only liked the side and demi panels though... and Sir-Mix-A lot would agree that i have a big butt! LOL
Anyone else notice the Facebook Group thread was DD'd? Shame! @mia1116
Whaaaa, why? I clearly missed something.
No idea. A drive-by posted her one and only comment in her bump career asking to join. We all know the cut-off was yesterday so I was anxious to see if they were going to exclude her from their elite group. I responded with a "Oh no you didn't" gif. And boom. Post gone.
Huh. I didn't realize the cut off was yesterday. I have many wonderful FB friends from my time on TK, and I'd love to have that here, eventually. Still too soon for me.

It was a 13 hour drive the last time we did it but that was without kids so I'm guessing it would be a two day drive with a toddler.
