I just bought so much stuff. I'm redoing the master bath "real quick" before/while I work on the nursery so I've purchased a new vanity and backslash tile, new electrical outlets (love the tamper resistant ones so I don't have to worry about baby proofing!), a dresser with removable changing table top, the rocking chair, a new bench for the master shower (oh I can't wait for that- maybe I can still shave sitting down when this belly gets crazier??), closet organization system for the nursery...
Nursery floors are officially done and trim will go up as soon as my new compressor arrives (old one is $$ to repair, not worth it!), then next weekend I believe we're going to purchase and assemble the cribs and I can't wait!!!
No no real reason for this post other than I'm super pumped for the progress and wanted to AW LOL!
I haven't decided whether we are going to decorate a room for #2 yet. He will sleep in our room for around a year, so we have some time to decide. We only have three bedrooms in our house, and so I was hoping that the kids would share for some years and then maybe at some point we could put a guest bedroom and bathroom in our basement....but until we have money for that I was hoping the kids could share. (My in-laws are retired and live far away and we are hoping for long visits from them and want a nice place for them to stay when they visit).
The issue is I have no idea how practical it is having two toddlers share a room. If it makes them sleep worse, there is really no point in having them share a room.
When we moved into our house we painted our spare bedroom with the nursery in mind. We pained it a very light gray that can be accented for whatever sex the baby is. We are currently living in the nursery (haven't purchased any furniture for it yet) while we renovate our bedroom.
We find out the sex of the baby on September 2nd so thats when we will probably start getting into legit nesting!

@urbanorchidgirl we are going with mint and gray and also foxes! Although I've gotten so obsessed I think all the baby clothes I've registered for also have foxes on them. I got the world's cutest fox face pillow from target this week and now I'm rushing DH to buy a glider just so I can see the pillow sitting in it!
For DD we bought a 3-in-1 crib and a separate dresser with a changer on top. Well, I hate having the separate dresser because it takes up so much room. This time around, I'd like to do a 3-in-1 crib with the changer attached that can be removed.
Has anyone used one of those prior? Any you'd recommend or not recommend?
Anybody planning to put a day bed in the nursery? I have been looking for one (but we are on a MAJOR budget). I want once with a trundle that pops up to the same height as the bed. This is the style I want:
Any great leads on an inexpensive but bad-ass day bed?
@susykat77 I'm not sure I'm much help. I believe Ikea has some daybeds but not sure they have trundles. I know Homemakers carries some because I saw them when we were there a few weeks ago but I'm not sure they are budget friendly.
@susykat77 not sure if there is a rooms to go outlet near you, or something similar to that, but we bought a day bed there with a trundle and love it. We currently have it in our guest bedroom.
@susykat77 I just thought of this. If you or your husband (or families or friends) are handy, there are some patterns online for making daybeds. A friend of my mom made one for her and it's awesome. Not a trundle but there may be some of those out there too.

We have a crib with change table attached. I HATE it. If/when we convert it to a double bed frame I feel like the change table part is just useless, it's too tall to be a bed side table. I wish we never got that kind!
Got our crib and mattress, as they were on sale! Same as DD's: IKEA Sundvik in white. Urban Outfitters has some nice rugs; thinking this one (we move into our house September 10).
Our nursery is painted a creamy yellow and then we have grey curtains. We found out we are having a little girl so now I'm trying to figure out how to accent what we have with something just to change it up a little. I'm thinking about this for a color palate. We already have some elephant and giraffe things in grey and yellow so I think it would work well.
We painted the nursery this past weekend (Covington Gray) , and I ordered the daybed today (https://www.jossandmain.com/Sardinia-Daybed-UISF4916-THRE3805.html)! I think I am going to order a rug from Rugs USA tonight as I can't get the site to work on my government work computer. Now I just need to find a dresser! So excited! I am going to have the nursery set up super early just so I can sit in there and feel happy.

@zdmd_14 I've had luck at Michaels finding plain wooden frames. They're usually pretty cheap, and Michaels always has coupons! I have two in our living room I ended up painting, but you could always leave them plain too.
@zdmd_14 etsy is far and away my favorite place to find art prints online. As for frames, most of mine come from either thrift stores or Michael's. Michaels usually has sales on their frames (often BOGO).
Would it be bad if I used DD crib set from 10 yrs ago for our new DD. I know the bumpers won't be used they were way to puffy back then too. Or since DS has his own set should I get a new one for this DD. Would have to get new sheets regardless.

I'm sure the crib is fine, but I would stay away from any type of bumper at all.
I don't have any pics at the moment of my DD's nursery but the walls are pink, the area rug is purple, the curtains are aqua and there are some light green accents so it was more of a colour theme than anything.
If this LO is a girl her room will have purple walls and teal/aqua accents.
If it's a boy his will be orange, blue and green colours.
I guess ill be starting next week when we find out.
This was pretty much my sons nursery. We did black furniture though. It was super cute, very bright and fun.

reusing the crib would be fine so long as it is not a drop side crib!
@zdmd_14 If you've got one near you, hobby lobby is my fav for frames. There's a 40% off one item coupon on their website or every other week the frames are half off. Never pay full price for anything there.
@AmRe214 We're thinking adventure theme too! I'm thinking dark gray walls, navy rug, and pops off yellow. Accents like these:
@adorebella We are doing adventure them as well. Painting the walls a dark grey today. Doing custom black, white and mint tribal bedding from BabyBedding.com Already have a black and white teepee and fire set on the way from Land of Nod. I've found a few wall prints and baskets from TJ Max Homegoods.
