We have our future daughter's name: Adelaide. We are naming her after my MIL (that woman is truly amazing). Her name is Adela, but didn't want to use her exact name as it has already floated its way around the family, so we went with a variance of it. The middle name is still up in the air. We were originally leaning towards June (DH has a non-biological grandma named June and we wanted to name after her), but now I am wanting to incorporate the rainbow theme somehow. I was thinking Iris, but I would still have to convince DH.
If we have another boy, he will be nameless until Kindergarten! DS's name was the only name we could agree on (thankfully, because it was my top pick) and he has two middle names because we couldn't decide/compromise. I have a TON of names on my boy list, but DH always vetos them all and then doesn't give any input or suggestions.
For a girl we've picked Makayla Wynn. Makayla is after dh (Michael) but I went with the more modern spelling of Michaela. Wynn (or Winn- I can't decide) is short for Winnifred (my grandma).
For a boy, I'm with @KirstinH88 as we used the only name we both liked for ds.
We are going to wait until baby is here to decide on a final name but our top 3 boy names are Hudson, Cooper, or Parker (family name) and girl names are Macy and Coralyn (Cora).
We haven't even started this discussion yet, but it will be a battle I'm sure. Our daughter, Annabelle Grace, was the only name we could agree on. Our son, Patrick Gray, is named after my dad (who passed away in '03) and my father-in-law.
For a boy, I like Louis Jackson because I'm from St. Louis and husband is from Jackson. For a girl, I like Jacquelyn (and call her Jacque, after husband's grandfather) or I'd love an Irish name, but we shall see.
Our boy name is the same as our first pregnancy: Joshua James
We love the first name and the middle name is DH's middle name, which is the same as his dad's middle name (DD's middle name is the same as mine)
Girl name: Anna Marie
DH fell in love with the name Anna for its biblical significance shortly after DD was born so we never really talked too much about girl names since we have had it in mind for a while now, but we picked out the middle name the other day, for my sister who's middle name is also Marie
We have a Keira, Conor, Harper, and Brendan. We've always picked fresh Irish first names and then family names for the middle (we have a very Irish last name). I've had the name Eden picked out for quite some time and hoped my husband would cave and let me use it last time, but he could not see it on a boy. I do like it for a girl better anyway and he's come around to it by now so I'm hoping a little bit for a girl this time just bc I have NO CLUE for boy names. Brendan wasn't named till the delivery room. My husband also likes to veto without giving any suggestions.
We have been back and forth so many times. DS is Adam. For a girl, we both really like Eva. But...Adam & Eva?! I don't think I can do it...lol We've been talking about alternatively doing Ava, but DH thinks that is also super cheesy. Middle name will either be Mae or Grace depending on what first name we end up picking.
I think if it's a boy we are leaning towards Nicholas, although I am not a huge fan of Nick which I'm sure he'll end up going by at some point. So it's still undecided.
He likes older/traditional names. I like more modern names. So we are having a hard time. Picking names is so hard!!!!!
@KirstinH88, we like Iris for a middle name too! My husband is pretty stuck on the name Margot for a girl. Suddenly yesterday I realized it looks a little like maggot, so I think we would spell it The English/American way (Margo).
As for boys, I have no idea. I like Charles ("Charlie"), Julian, and Graham, but none really works for us for various reasons. Our son is Oscar.
We have a spreadsheet but we will not decide until we see our baby.
DH vetoes my #1 girls name, Evelyn. I am super bummed but it is what it is.
We like the same boys names so that is a huge help

I love the inspiration behind all of your name choices!
We are starting from scratch with this one. The names we liked our first go round (we were team green!) have lost their appeal in the two years since they were initially discussed. Our boy name was going to be Brooks but my coworker ruined that one for me. We ended up using our second choice girl name (Cora) to name DD's Cabbage Patch doll at Babyland General. I love Finn but DH keeps vetoing. Ah well, we'll find something!
DD (Alice) wasn't named until RIGHT before she was born so it's a miracle that we have any ideas right now! Our second choice for DD was Eleanor so that's what we're starting with for girl names. If it's a boy, he'll be Michael. We haven't agreed on middle names for either yet.
We had a hard time naming DD2, so praying this little bit is a boy so we don't have 34 weeks of that mess again. If it is a boy, he will have a family name of Wallace Kelly, hoping to nickname him Walker if hubs agrees to it. My list currently for girls includes Lauren, Marisa, and Charlotte.
All of your baby names are too sweet! I especially love the ones created from old family names. Also, the ones that show your ancestry/heritage. Our girl name is Loxley Grey. Grey is after my great grandma, Etta Grey, whom I love and miss dearly. Loxley is actually the name of a place near where we live and also comes from the fairly tale Robin Hood, which is one of my absolute favs. I'm SO in love with this name.
For a boy, it's so hard to pick one name! We have a long, LONG list of boy names from the last pregnancy. We ended up naming our son Jaxon, after my great-pawpaw Jack. Gunner is his middle name. (Maybe he will be a football quarterback. Then, Gunner would really fit. Ha!) But, the list of names we are still considering are Greyson (again, after my grandma), Jayce (Jayce and Jax would be so cute for sibling names!), I still love the name Oliver, but dh hates it. I also like Timber (I like this one for a girl, as well), and River (going with our southern heritage haha). It's so hard to decide!
Girls: Lillian Josephine Eleanor Elizabeth Penelope Fern
Those are the names I've picked out so it's a pretty rough list. My FI hasn't really put much thought into names quiet yet. Every time I mention names he seems to be agreeable. I'm sure that will change the closer we get. Middle names are still up in the air.
@RachelGreene Thank you! I love your girl names, Penelope, Eleanor, and Fern the best! Willow would be pretty, too! I see some old-fashioned names on your list, as well. Have you considered Winnie? It's an old name that I think is just darling!
For a girl we are going with Grace Margaret. For a boy, still up in the air. I like Grant. Last time we talked DH said he was coming around to Grant, so we'll see. Not sure about the middle name for a boy.
We also love Charlotte (with Anne as a middle name) but it's too popular right now.
I think we're trying to keep the name secret (except from you internet strangers LOL and my mom--which means we might be SOL since she has a big mouth) until birth but I don't know if I'll be able to do it.
DD #1: April 2017 DD #2: May 2020 Baby #3: EDD May 2023; MC October 2022
This is a fun game! My husband and I are keeping a running list of names. Whenever one of us (usually me - let's be honest) hears a name we like, it gets added to the list. I think girls names are the hardest! For boys, we have Kieron, Dennison, Theodore, Silas, Henry, and Lucca. For girls, we have Coralie and Maggie. I love the name Anne because I'm in love with Anne Shirley, but I don't know how I feel about it as a first name. Keep the ideas coming, anonymous internet friends!
So far we have Natalie Paige and Chloe Danielle. Our boy names consist of Caleb, Ethan, or Landon (Reed being the middle name after DH). Girl names are a little harder. I would love Madeline for a girl and I wanted that name for Natalie but it got vetoed the night I was in labor. So I'm trying to push it this time around since it's our last kid--this is my last chance!
I love reading through names This is definitely the earliest we have decided on names. If it's a boy, he will be Beau. Middle name either Gabriel or Maximilian. Beau because we love it, middles names for the Annunciation story or for a saint we admire. If it's a girl, Clare. Middle name will either be Maired, Edith, or Teresa. Clare, because we love it and St. Clare. Middle names for Mary or, again, for saints we admire.
Our first two are actually literary inspired names, but it looks like we're letting our Catholic fly on this one.
If it's a girl she will be Evelyn Sally. Sally was his great aunt that passed away last year. She was more like a grandmother to him. If it's a boy he will named Zachary Paul. Paul was his oldest brothers middle name who also passed away from melanoma two years ago. We also agreed on the name Jameson Paul. James is my husbands middle name so it's a nod to him!
In our family, it is customary to give second names after the mothers of the parents, my mum is Gabriella and my mum-in-law is Claire, but they both also have second names, and they are fine too. Problem is that the name needs to work in three languages for us because we are from different countries, living in a third...so so far we have no first names at all!!!
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
@belocin I love the name Cora. It's on my list for girls names.
We're Latino and only my immediate family (plus a cousin or two) live in the US. All of DHs family is in South America along with the rest of mine. Soooo, that means we have to find a name that works well in both English and Spanish and we don't want a common Spanish name because DHs last name is common.
DS is Liam Piero. Liam was the only boys name neither one of us actively hated. Ugh, if it's a boy this is going to be hard.
@ArchyFlores A friend of mine also had this same issue. She wanted a name that worked well in both languages. They had a boy and decided on Benjamin. They call him Benji. Suggestions....
DH and I pretty much have a girl's name: Emersyn (middle name is still a struggle). However, we don't agree on any boys names. Everything I like he has something to say about, and vice verse. So I'll just list the names I like and call it a day. Finn Grant Reid We're team green, so I'm super excited to meet our little one and align a name to a sweet face all at once.
DD named this baby "Flounder" so for now, we are sticking with that... She did come up with Benjamin if it was a boy, so he will likely be Benjamin John, mn for DH's dad that passed away. I also like Callum, Henri , Oliver or Cooper for a boy. If it is a girl we like Olivia, Vivienne, Ava, Margaux, or Harper , her mn will be Esme for my mom that passed away. DD is Caroline (named for the Neil Diamond song that played the night we met:) ( cheesy, I know but it is so cute to see her get excited when it plays on the radio!) We have a very unusual last name so we want a simple first name that cannot be mispronounced. I have also always love Aiden for a girl, but DH veto'd me
I love the name Evelyn too, but hubs said hard pass. For a girl, we have Della Lynn (Della sounds good and southern and similar to the popular Bella without being Bella and Lynn was the name of the woman who practically raised me) For boys, we are having a harder time. We like Oscar and Maverick. I actually prefer any and all Biblical not names, but hubs vetoed every single last one of them.

We have been kind of playing around with some names but nothing specific. I think we will have a harder time this time around. But it may help us focus more once we find out what we are having.
One name we like for a girl is Mila and Hayden for a boy. But we'll see. No middle names come to mind yet. H's family tradition is to give the first son the mother's maiden name for a middle name. But I'm from Europe and I have a "weird" maiden name so we'll see LOL
For a boy, we have George Karl after our grandfathers. For a girl we have Lillian. Still working on a middle name, but Alice (mom's middle name) and Isabelle are contenders so far.
@LittleChick2 Lillian Alice sounds really nice together
