Water tastes like crap today, but of course it's 100+ degrees here today and I need to stay very hydrated!
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
I've had pretty good luck with people being attentive to my huge and pregnant self. I don't take public transport so I haven't had to worry about finding a seat but I've noticed people are opening doors for me more, letting me go in front of them in a long line, etc. We went to a baseball game a few weeks ago and they moved me to the handicap line so I could go right in, I thought that was nice.

It's other women that are super rude and don't hold doors or anything around here... at my last OB appointment when I was at the hospital trying to hurry to the doors to the lab WITH my LO in tow, this lady was going through them, looked back at me, I started to jog a bit because I thought she was holding it for me buuuut... nope. =/ I guess I wasn't going fast enough for her because bish dropped the door and scuttled away.
I should probably save this for FFFC, but Lord knows I'll forget it by then...
I realized yesterday that I couldn't care less about getting stretch marks on my belly or boobs. I have a few really light ones on my belly already, but they don't bother me, at all. I have no desire to ever bare any part of my torso in public, so the only people who will ever see them is DH and me.
I asked DH last night "do you think my stretch marks will make me any less attractive?" And he gave me a look like I was ludicrous for even asking and said "Umm, no. That's dumb."
I actually said something to DH this week about how I've noticed an increase in how kind strangers are being to me. Holding doors, offering to let me cut in line for the bathroom, and I had a neighbor driving by offer me an umbrella because I was walking between my house and our neighbor's with a bag of a few groceries while it had started to sprinkle.
@CopperBoom86 Same here. Those parts never see the light of day with me, so why worry about it, IMO.
@books&icecream I've been wondering the same thing, though not for public transit. We were on a tour yesterday and I didn't realize how much standing it would be because the lady was so scattered and long winded. EVERY time we changed rooms, this dad and his 3 kids ran for the chairs and used all of them the entire time. I was so annoyed. I kept rubbing my belly and sighing to see if they would get the hint, but they never did.
I never heard back about my GD test from last week so I assumed I passed but I hate not hearing for sure. I just called and they said my level was 117! I was worried because my doc said 140 was the cutoff but I've heard others say their docs use 130. I was going to stress if I got anything between 130-139 knowing my doc would consider it "normal" and others wouldn't. So glad to have that weight lifted!

Omg face palm! I left work early today for my bi-weekly OB appointment...ya it's not until Wednesday! Thank god she's in the office and is able to fit me in cause I really didn't want to come up with an excuse to leave early again on Wednesday (though I would have).
I've mostly been lurking here, I post in the weekly ticker change every week but find the other threads overwhelming. I want to be more active, so this is me trying. I get so caught up in reading everyone's posts, it's like watching a movie or reading a book for me, I forget that I can participate. My goal for this week is to participate at least once a day (unless I'm annoying, just tell me to go away)
So, random for today, I passed my 3hr glucose test!
Apparently there was some sort of law suit with Barnes & Noble and I got a free $25 gift card. I have no idea why but I used it to buy the last 2 pregnancy/baby books I want to read and got them for free so I'm not complaining!

I'm watching Gilmore Girls over again for the third time this pregnancy. I keep trying to start new series that I haven't seen, but can never seem to get through more than 2 episodes.
That's one good thing about the living in the deep south. It's extremely rare that I have to open my own door or stand while others are seated. And that's always been the case, even before I was pregnant.
I told myself that when I finished the current book I'm reading I would make myself start reading all the pregnancy books (breastfeeding/birthing/newborn care, etc) that I've been putting off...I'm down to the last chapter now & can't bring myself to finish it because ...I just don't know if I'm ready to face all that yet!
We're having our family pictures taken next week. We were supposed to go to the photographer's studio, but there is no AC. Last time we went there it was at least 10 degrees warmer in the studio. So I told H we need to do it at our house so I won't be a sweaty mess. But now I have to do some deep cleaning. Ugh. I dropped DD off at my patents for the night so I can just get it all done today and just touch up when we get back from vacation next week. But now I'm on the couch eating pizza and watching OITNB. I need some motivation right now.
How are you ladies waiting to find out if you passed your test? I called exactly two days after to get my results! I was so nervous. Thankfully I passed
Today my DH and I had a visit to the fetal specialist and my placenta moved and the doctor said it's ok to have sex! YAH!. also the baby is still doing well.
I burned myself across the top of my bump with boiling water the other day and it's totally going to scar. I'm grumpier about that than the stretch marks.
@mizzkbrat the Dr I go to has an online patient portal that shows test results, so I found out before they called me to tell me I failed the one hour one. I looked today for the three hour results and shows I passed.

If you're looking for something cheesy and light, I blew through When the Heart Calls. It's cheesy and fun. Perfect for best rest/ general pregnancy exhaustion.

@kennelchick The online portal is the best thing. I happened to log on in curiosity this morning and my results were posted! Kind of wondering why I didn't get an email alert like normal though... Oh well I passed so not too worried about it. @mizzkbrat

Southern hospitality is real, y'all!
I'm not sure where you libe but We live in ohio anf visit Tennessee and we always comment how we want to move there one day because of how polite and kind the people there are compared to here.

@CopperBoom86@sjo_thetwins Is this where I insert the "American by Birth, Southern by the Grace of God" motto? Don't judge me but I may or may not have had a sign that said this as a teenager.

Maybe it is just the Midwest, but I noticed that people are much nicer to me when pregnant (like got out of a speeding ticket near a famous speed trap level of niceness). However, as soon as the actual baby got here it suddenly stopped. Adorable mom waddle? Yes, let me get that door. New mom struggling with a heavy car seat and fifty bags? Don't make eye contact don't make eye contact...
Don't get me wrong, no one has even been overtly rude, but folks definitely revert back to the same level of Midwestern straight-forwardness as before. One thing I love about this part of the world is the lack of fluff, but I was surprised that babies don't get the same pass out of the belly as they do still in the belly.

A bit cheesy, but so true! There are definitely things I don't like about the South, but all things considered, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!
Don't come to Connecticut.... We are all assholes because our governor sucks and taxes us to death and we are all miserable. we went from one of the best states to the worst state. We can't wait to move south in a few years. We can't afford to live here much longer. Sadly.

I still don't know if I passed my glucose test, they haven't called me.
Also, I killed a mosquito at home, the kind with the striped legs...the aedes aegypti kind, and i'm slightly freaking out.
@annabenanna - No news is good news! Fingers still crossed for you, though!
