@am0987 scary and exciting all in one I'm sure! So nice that you've been closely watched and cared for so that the best decision can be made. Thoughts are with y'all! Congratulations!
edited because "closet watched" was just too creepy
my good friend who was due a month before me had her baby this morning! We have gone through pregnancy together so it really feels like my time is coming so soon!
I'm 33 weeks tomorrow. It just hit me that in 4 weeks we will have a little girl! My doctor on Monday said plan on inducing at 37 weeks and it just hit me right now! Ahhh!
Mommy to an angel baby and a sweet little girl Earth side.
I had a check-up today (weekly whoa) and as of this morning I am officially in my delivery window. I now have 5 weeks to go into labor if I want to give birth at the birth center. Clock is ticking. For some reason I suddenly feel an enormous sense of urgency! Also for some reason DH is suddenly super anxious and worried about labor. Um hi- did you just figure out this baby is going to have to come out? Wow! Husbands...
Had my first weekly appt yesterday and my midwife was very clear that it could be any time now and I will have this baby in the next five weeks at the latest.
I'm jealous of you ladies with weekly appointments! My OB's office is keeping to every two weeks, I had my last appointment at 35+4, next is 37+2 and 39+2 and then finally a week later at 40+2. There has been no mention of membrane stripping or cervical checks or growth US, basically just 'if you go into labor don't call us, just go to the hospital when the contractions are 3/1/1'. I'm new to the practice but have had no complications, so maybe they are just super hands off.
I need baby to stay in there til at least the 20th when DH returns from his army trip!
@erin7264 My doc isn't starting weekly appointments till next week when I'm 37 weeks and I've had high risk monitoring this entire pregnancy (thankfully I've had a very easy third trimester so no need for more). She hasn't brought up a timetable for any monitoring/ other measures for the same reason just call l&d and head in at 3-1-1 and they don't believe in a lot of cervical checks because it can increase the chance of an infection. My practise is really low intervention focused so that is a big part of it
Today at my check my nurse said I'm so effaced and baby is so freaking low that she could almost feel her hair! First wtf I didn't know that was a thing .second trying to chill out because I'm sure it means nothing and baby won't come anytime soon with my luck haha
@erin7264 I don't have that many appointments left. I had one at 30 weeks, will have one at 35 weeks, another at 37 weeks, and another at 39w2d...and my RCS is scheduled for 39w4d. I thought that it was because things were going good with my pregnancy....but then I was diagnosed with GD, so I find it odd that I only have that many appointments and nothing like NST or growth scans scheduled. So I literally have three appointments left, before my RCS, and I am only 33 weeks. When I was pregnant with DD, I had monthly appointments, and then when I hit third trimester....I went to every other week, except the last month...I was every week.
You ladies that have end dates are freaking me out. I'm due the end of July and have an under 2 yo DD. I'm honestly feeling a little overwhelmed at the prospect. I think we are ready, but DD was just so colicky, I think my problem is a fear of babies. Pretty sure I had PPA last time looking back at it. I went to 41.5 weeks last time, and in my head I've been planning/maybe even hoping to do the same again. I need to find some way to mentally prepare because baby could come early. Maybe making packing lists for me and DD will help? Sort of to confirm this is happening semi soon.
I was buying groceries today and picked up milk with an expiry date of July 11. I had a moment of "oh....the baby will be born before this milk expires...woah"
And we had a growth scan today and the technician flipped on the 3D imaging just for fun and here's a actual tiny human with my lips staring back at me. Totally surreal but eye opening.
@PhoebeJune1984 this is my first so I'm kind of just going along with whatever they say, although friends and family have also been surprised I'm not going weekly at this point. I guess it just varies by practice!
Weekly appts, turning in my leave paperwork, and doing laundry filled with tiny cloths and blankets because I'm less than 1 month from my due date now I can just say the 8th insted of having to specify July 8th 0.O it's real now yo.
@erin7264 I'm jealous. It's hard to find time for all those appointments. And when I went at all past my due date, they started having me come 2-3 times a week last time.
Good luck @am0987! I'm sure you're probably feeling a crazy mix of emotions. Positive thoughts to you and baby!
Sounds like the birth announcements thread is going to be a very popular one VERY soon! Aahh
I had my 35 wk appt. early yesterday morning and then lost a good part of, if not all of my mucous plug in the afternoon before I went into work. I'm not overly concerned, as I know labor can still be weeks away at this point, but just knowing that I've had my first real sign of 'hey things are changing in there and a baby's coming' has me in an excited yet slightly panicked state of mind now!
@whataboutscience i have an under 2 year old ds as well. It's really starting to hit me that our time as a little duo is coming to close. How will I handle a newborn and a rambunctious 2 year old!? Scary thought. I've made lists and it did help a bit!! But I live for lists. Haha. I hope you start to feel better about everything! It is SO scary. You're not alone in that at all.
Eeek! This whole thread is making it seem real! Especially with everyone posting induction dates etc! Thoughts and prayers to the Mamas having babies this weekend!
Thanks for the love guys! I am sitting here in my gorgeous hospital gown. Looks like they're short staffed and just got an influx of new mamas in labor so my meds don't start until after lunch...My biggest decisions include what to watch on netflix and what food my husband should bring me. Decisions decisions.
@theshannondee How exciting! Best wishes for a smooth delivery!

@theshannondee Good luck! Hoping for a smooth delivery and healthy mama and baby!
@mrsllove Thanks, makes me feel a little better! So many pregnant women are counting down and I feel more like I'm running out of time! Don't get me wrong, I'm excited, but also not sure what we are getting ourselves into. I love lists and being organized so that may help. I should probably make a to do list of things I'd like to get done before baby too. For instance, our den downstairs has become horribly disorganized and I hate it. I would love to tackle that before this LO arrives.

My due date is 3 weeks from today and my doc is planning to strip my membranes that morning if I haven't gone into labor yet. Almost there!!!!!!!
Oh shit.
