Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • @Vinny424‌ I had a major supply dip at the beginning of the school year. DD got super fussy on the boob, yanking away then latching back on, and taking both sides instead of just one. Lots and lots of water, oatmeal, and upping your calories a little seems like the best bet. Also nursing a lot :)
If you do supplement with a bottle do one oz from the bottle then put him on the boob again and repeat as needed. That way he's not starving and your boobs are getting the message to step it up :)

  • @NolaLinz I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how you feel. :(

@deidremaria that was so very sweet of you. Just because y'all aren't together doesn't mean you can't be nice :)

While my husband was getting his hair cut today, I realized he spends more on his hair than I do every month. I'm a little a jealous.

    This can be fixed!
He spends $10 a week every week on haircuts not including hair product. Such a diva. Although I should say his haircuts are required as part of being in regulation, but still.

I hear you. I once tried to cut DHs hair and he got so nervous that We ended up buzzing it all off. He does not trust me.
  • My dad rocked a high and tight for 20 years, only 4 of those was he in. He only recently got a new hair style. My husband gets a medium fade now @RedDawnsRevenge‌

He wants me to cut his hair, but I'm afraid to do so. My hand shakes and he's picky! @snowbound‌
  • Ugh, @celticlullaby‌, that sounds awful, I know what you mean about hoping for something drugs can fix!

  • @Shelbysteffens‌ I cut my DH hair because we got tired of paying that money all the time. Luckily he isn't picky at all!

    Tax deductible?
Yeah haircuts and uniform stuff are all write offs, thank goodness.

Yeah he's picky and I don't have a great steady hand, although he's looking at gym membership that includes free haircuts so hopefully he chooses that route.
  • @celticlullaby‌ I'm so sorry you're dealing with this, I hope you LO feels better soon. We can relate here--we are dealing with almost the exact same thing. DS has been sick for almost two weeks and it has recently gotten a lot worse. He screamed practically all day the last three days. Nothing I'm doing is helping at all. Sigh....

Stupid question: how can you tell when your supply dips and if it does what do you do?

    Output?
I don't pump I just Ebf from the source

Sometimes she just seems super fussy and unsatisfied. I drink a Gatorade and sometimes an oatmeal smoothie and it usually works out.
  • @NoLaLinz‌ I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking about you and your family.

My SIL is like 2 weeks away from having baby #2 and has no clue what a birth plan is. Thinks it's some weird hippy dippy thing. And her husband is all if the doctor wants to take the baby away and bathe it right away and not do skin to skin first then he knows what he's talking about and that's what were doing. I wanted to to both of them or knowing nothing

Eh didn't have a birth plan. Glad I didn't because it would have all gone to shit with my c section lol
I had a very flexible birth plan. The goal was 'get baby out'. I didn't want to have a hard plan because you can't really control what happens, hence my c-section
  • I didn't have a birth plan, either. I told my OB I just wanted to try to deliver vaginally. I didn't want to set myself up to feel like a failure.

  • @aronie82‌ I am on the same page with you. You don't have to have a detailed birth plan, it rarely goes the way you plan, but know your options. You are your ONLY advocate. But I also like to know everything I can about the situation I am entering- thus researching csection recovery prior to delivery, just in case.

  • Just got back from a weekend at my moms. DD hasn't pooped in 3 days but she is farting all the time. It is so funny. She doesn't seem upset so hopefully she will poop soon!

OMG I just watched Dear Zachary and I'm balling my fucking eyes out why did I watch this

Traumatizing is the only word for it. It's insane how much I cried during that mess.
