  • @MrsStanton87‌ - we have one and love it. So much less of a space hog than a regular high chair.

So I just went to a FRG womens luncheon with some other company wives. The one that threw the event had a schedule on the wall for their entire day. Like every 30 minutes she had something for her kids. I'm over here like if you can get me off the couch by 10 then it's a good day. I envy people like that!

I hate schedules like that. Kids need downtime. Some scheduling is good for structure but activities every 30 minutes? No. Just no. Unless some of those activities were free play or backyard time that is waaay too much.

Seriously, DD is only 4 months and even she needs some time just hanging out on her playmat, playing by herself.
She did have some down time but it was on the schedule. lol! I mean, her kids will probably be really smart. She has gone allotted for "'motor skills" and "arts and crafts".

People like that make me feel inadequate though. Oh well!

People like that make my eyelids twitch. I am an organiser, but with LO I'm completely relaxed, and just go with the flow. There is no way that a 5m old will fit into a schedule that tight!

and motor skills, arts and crafts? what are we supposed to be doing for motor skills or arts and crafts at this point?

  • I have this one @MrsStanton87‌. I like that it has different recline and height positions. It also transitions from a "high chair" to a booster for an older child. I've only let LO sit in it a few times since we aren't feeding him solids yet.

  • @mrsstanton87 I'd be tempted to get a few baskets like these:

And fill them with some seasonal things, etc.  Then maybe some small square mirrors or glass vases that are short.

Or, if you're feeling wild and crazy crafty, you could paint that strip above it with chalk paint and chalk something (message, etc) different seasonally?
  • BLW is going to be a better fit for us. Dylan friggin hates purees. I gave him a cracker today and he loved it. He was actually biting and trying to chew, so sweet. I gave him tiny bites of avocado too, he loved it. We'll slowly go into it though.

    That's great!

Her kids might be older. But yeah, they are going to have a tough time learning how to be independent and how to entertain themselves if every single second of their days are organized like that.

  • @3crazykitties‌ are you watching "On the Run" with me tonight?
  • Soooo... what's the deal with baby leggings? I just can't picture when/with what DD would ever wear them. But I got one of those everyday family deals for 5 free pairs. I just pay s&h so like $12ish I think. If I'd use them a lot it'd be worth it. If not then I'll pass. What say A14?

  • @avidkeo‌ her kids are 2 and 3. She says she's not super strict but looking at her schedule, the entire day was written out. 7 am wake up, 7:15 make beds, 7:30 make breakfast, 8:00 motor skills. It made my head spin. Whatever works for her, though!

Theyre supposed to be like pants and super easy for diaper changes. I have like 6 pair and barely put them on him. I prefer pants.

  • Im dreading starting solids. BLW never would have worked with DS1. He gagged on everything, even most brands of purees. So it makes me really nervous to try BLW with this LO! I might try those little mesh pouches that you can put soft foods into.
  • BIRL- why is your picture black?? It did that on IG too. Am I missing something?

  • Dylan hasn't pooped in well over a week. I'm already worried but when should I start actively trying to get him to poop. What can I do?
  • Pears work really well!
  • @deidremaria Awesome snuggle time picture!  You look like you probably had a kink in your neck when you woke up though. *creepy virtual neck rub* XD

This is pretty much the exact same one I have, just a different print on the back I think.  Also not sure if mine transitions into a booster chair, but it does the same recline and height options.  We got it second-hand from one of my SILs, and will probably pass it on when my youngest SIL has her next kid if it's still in decent condition at that point.  Thing's been through hell and still going, lol.

    Holy super type-A personality, Jesus. x.x  I mean, there are some kids with autism or things like that who seem to do better with very strict schedules like that, but... yow. x.X;;

  • Ugh seriously body?! DH comes tomorrow after being apart for almost 5 months. I have worked so hard to lose a bunch of weight to suprise him. And what does my body do?! I'm bloated, on my period and I woke up this morning with a cold. Just awesome.

On another note, the house search is going really good! I love some the area and have found some great homes. I'm going to look at a few more this morning and then tomorrow DH and I will look at pics and decide which one.

Boo that's no fun! I hope you feel better tomorrow. It's so exciting that you get to see him finally after so long. Good luck with the house search!

  • Well I was going to venture out to the mall to enter LO in a cutest baby contest but this guy is a screaming mess. That's too bad. He really is cute when he's not upset.
