The problem is is he won't calm down unless I pick him up. I can stay in there forever patting his back and laying him back down. It's been 12 minutes and he's thrown his binky out and his lovey
Are our kids too young to be afraid of the dark? B has been sleeping horribly at home, and I just assumed it was his teeth bothering him or developmental stuff since he's getting so many new words. However, while we were on vacation he slept WONDERFULLY 8/10 days (first night and last night were expectedly rough). The only difference I can think of is that we used my aunt's little projector/music thing, so the room was never really dark. Everything I've read says that usually doesn't start until 2ish.
@vitafelix Jameson slept crappy for a couple nights and I realized that his nightlight came unplugged, I put it back in and we are back to sleeping great. So it could be possible.
@Sympkin I'm not experienced in wills and estates but do you have a copy of the will and what does it say about expenses? How would meals be involved?
So a couple days ago Jameson ate it on the sidewalk. Caught himself with his nose and then slid on his face , the result is this horrible looking scab.
@ColieAnn31, a few ladies on here recomended the ferber method to me a few months ago and it definitely works. It took us about 3 days and it wasn't easy but worth it.
We are currently having an issue now where she wakes up now and immediately sits or stands up so its harder to get her back down but the initial bedtime is so much easier now.
Good luck! And it did help to find something to do while you are waiting to go back in to stop you from going in there too soon. I usually folded laundry or straightened up around house.
He's not crying right now but he won't lay down. He's been standing up the entire time. I'm getting tired though so hopefully he decides to go to sleep soon.
+2 - I'm intrigued. LO has TONS of toys but lately seems to be more interested in trying to climb our stairs. She was a late crawler and now that she can move, she's all over the place. I threw our couch cushions all over the floor today so she could climb all over and she liked that but a maze sounds fun.
He starts crying hysterically as soon as I go in the room and he will not lay down. So I either don't go in there or give up. I don't want to give up though.
@smpeachey for sure. And 34 here. In still confused about that video, but love it. When I was young and fun and living in Tanzania I went with my roommate to Zanzibar for a holiday and ended up hanging out with a bunch of AUSTRALIAN FIREFIGHTERS (the awesomeness of them demands caps). After getting drunk several of them put small trash bins on their heads and acted out the whole video. I think I made out with like 12 of them after that. I love my life now, but it is so flipping boring compared to hanging with (HAWT) Australian firefighters in Zanzibar acting out a Devo video.
Did you know Devo recently came out with an album?
Last night was horrible! He was up until midnight last night and just would not go to sleep in the pack in play. I finally just put him in the bed and say outside the door with the video monitor. He layed there until he finally fell asleep. That took about 15 minutes. I think I need to rethink my approach for tonight. Thank you everyone for the encouragement last night!
@ColieAnn31 I'm sorry last night was so rough! I have no advice about CIO but we are transitioning from nursing to sleep and it's gone from a 10 min bedtime to over an hour. You are strong for sticking it out! In reading your posts, I had a thought. Forgive me if it's stupid or has been tried. But, if he is used to sleeping in a regular bed, could you try to go ahead and transition him to a toddler bed?
@ColieAnn31 what is his regularly schedule bedtime? If it's been later and you are trying to get him to sleep earlier it may not work. You probably need to adjust it by like 15 minute increments. If he's used to being rocked to sleep I would continue to do that. I know people say that it breeds bad sleep habits but I rocked ds1 and one day he cried while I rocked him so I put him in his crib. He fell right asleep and from that day on he didn't need to be rocked. He's also always slept through the night with no problems. We rock ds2 to sleep still and once he's down, he's down for the entire night. I'll rock him until he decides he's had enough of it.
Re: Quit playin games with my SPAM
A drink doesn't sound good. I might have to distract myself with cleaning something...
But this will be a funny/cute picture to show him when he's older!

These types of conversations are tough but if it isn't addressed or hashed out now it seems like there would still be resentment later.
