@pkp2‌ I might have to do that. But we were planning on skipping the toddler bed and just getting him a twin. He seemed fine after I put him in the big bed last night.

@ilovemarfa‌ I'm not trying to move his bedtime up. Bedtime is 7:30 and that's what time I took him downstairs. I rocked him until he was almost done with his bottle and he was half asleep at that point. I put him in the pack and play and he shot right up. I might just try rocking him to sleep tonight and then putting him in the pack in play. I don't know yet. These decisions aren't easy

@ColieAnn31‌ ohh! I saw that he went to bed at midnight and I thought maybe his bedtime was at 10 or something. I didn't realize that you struggle for nearly 5 hours. I hope he does better tonight. Maybe just rock him until he's sound asleep and then put him down. Sometimes if they aren't in a sound sleep they will pop back up. I know sometimes it takes me a few times of putting ds2 down. Does he have a stuffed animal or security blanket? I know that ds2 was waking once at night until I got him the a@a dream blanket and now he cuddles with it at night.

@42Butterflies‌ legend in my family is that I was the same way as a baby and kid. Didn't sleep through the night until I was 3, never napped and only slept between my parents until I was 4. My mom described the same CIO as that I would just scream- all night if I had to. I was a tough baby. But for what it's worth, I'm totally awesome now hang in there. Arlo was like that until 12 months and then he had some type of switch flip and it's so much better now.

He sleeps with his blanket and a binky. He had all of that and extra binkys in the pack and play with him last night lol I'm going to try the pack and play for nap time and put him down asleep and see how it goes!

I am hosting a bridal shower for close friend today along with 4 other bridesmaids. I am in charge of the food and cake. I decided to place an order for mini cakes at the cafe in my office building. They are so cute! See the pic below. Well an hour ago I went to pic them up and the cakes were a disaster! The cook decided to make whole cakes and cut them in slices placed in plastic containers. Ummm NO!!! That is not what I ordered! I ended up calling another cake place and ordering cake pops. They are a lot more expensive but thankfully they have a enough last minute to feed our guests. I'm still feeling a little frazzled and anxious. The shower starts at 2. I want everything to go well because I want this to be really special for my friend.

@WorkinIt‌ thanks for checking in . Today marks two weeks since he left. We thankfully get to FaceTime everyday so it helps with not feeling so lonely. It is trying though, I've already had a couple of days where I wish I could just have an hour to myself in the middle of the day. Hoping that feeling goes away once my DD starts school again come Sept. 3rd. Other than that just takin things day by day and keeping myself busy.

Still alive brunch was great, only had one pomosa. Woke up with a headache but it was treated with bacon and fountain coke (thanks to DH). The picky chick didn't eat anything but her daughter ate everything! We tried to give them some salmon to take with them and picky chick refused...

I napped with Bradley who was super tired so we slept for 3.5 hrs! I feel awesome right now, but I am resisting the urge to eat all the things

Got my new phone today!!! Already love it but more so because I finally have a devise that my fitbit can sync up with. After going back through my stuff that was tracked and saved I have discovered I sleep like shit!!! My worst night I had 23 restless moments that lasted for just over an hour total

@melohdy that sounds amazing! DH hasn't has both kids solo for even 24 hours yet and I really feel like I want him to just to fully understand what it's like. He seems to get that it's hard but I just want him to have the experience. And free food and clean towels and a made bed? Yes please!

Speaking of DH silliness, I spent yesterday making a great grocery list using my new ap (thanks @Lizzybizzy80‌!). It was based on meal planning, specials and coupons. VERY specific. This morning DH let me sleep in and decided to go to the grocery store with Lo. He texted me to send him a list, but duh, I was asleep. So he decided to wing it. Now I have a ton of the wrong stuff and have to go to the store to get some things we really needed. And he spent money on dumb stuff that we wouldn't buy. I am so flipping annoyed and he is all pissed at me because he thinks I'm being a jerk when he was being so "helpful." You do not fuck with my grocery list. It's like he doesn't know me after 14 years!

Bradley just finalized our Halloween costumes: I will be captain America, H will be the hulk, Ty will be Thor, and Bradley will be Iron Man. He decided that we will bring his build a bear spiderman dog unless we can get one of the dogs be spiderman

Thanks @violet1183‌ . He started his nap in the pack and play and lasted 30 minutes in there. I think I'm going to have to do slow baby steps to transition him to sleeping by himself. It's going to be a long road for us. I hope you're able to get some better sleep tonight!

@kari5186‌ I definitely make sure he is exhausted! Since I've been rocking him to bed every night with a bottle he is out within 5 minutes most nights. He plays hard all day so when it's time for bed he is more than ready lol and nap times are just as easy except he doesn't get a bottle then. I just have to make small changes at a time.

Thanks for the support girls! I was totally freaking out earlier when I posted about the cake disaster (too dramatic or naw?). I had to get it out or my head was going to explode!

Everything worked out perfectly and it made me so happy that the bride was happy. Everyone loved them! The shower theme was Crafts & Cocktails. The bride loves crafting (she is making all of her own flowers out of paper and they at gorgeous! Will post pics after the wedding.) and she loves a good drink. The signature drink was a peach bellini and the craft was a ring dish. Here are some pics:

Talk about having the shit scared out of you! I'm in bed watching TV with my nightstand light on. I hear two huge bangs outside, all electricity flickers then shuts off, I get up to go investigate and halfway down the stairs everything comes back on! My heart was racing lol. I hate being home alone at night sometimes.

Hell no!!! My ass would have stayed in that bed! Lol I hate being home alone in such a big house even though we have a bunch of dogs that bark at everything :P still scares me though.

Lol @ColieAnn31‌ only reasons I get up to investigate is because I'm upstairs and my kiddos are downstairs and I have a gun and know how to use it! If my husband was home I would have sent his ass though.

@lioness13‌ I did. Double checked that my alarm stayed on and is still armed and looked out every window and double checked all locks. I have no idea what happened, but I think a transformer across the street blew. It's happened a few times before and it looks like neighbors across the street don't have electricity.

The next person who tells me "boy, LO will sleep great tonight because of__" is going to be pulling my shoe out of their ass.

My ILs begged to watch him for a while yesterday so we dropped him off for an hour before dinner. They took him to a new park and got him all wound up. My guy who has been waking up once around 3:30, has woken up 4 times! Each time screaming his head off. I have 2 job interviews this morning and I feel like crap.

So what's a double ear infection without a nasty cold to go with it????Thanks BIL/SIL! You couldn't have warned us that my niece had the snot crud before sitting there and watching them play "swap the sippy cups" last night? I had just been telling them how miserable E has been the last couple of days and SIL is all "oh yeah A is sick too". I look over at E giving her cousin kisses and offering her cup. Then BIL "rinsed" off the cup after my niece slobbered in it and handed it right back to E before I could grab it. E was up 5 times coughing/crying/sneezing last night and DH is texting me saying he has a sore throat. All the curse words. /End mini rant

Don't know if this helps but even after L was sleeping through the night (we did CIO also and it was hard but 100% the right choice for him) he couldn't sleep in the PnP. I thought it was just that it wasn't his usual crib but he slept no problem in a crib at my inlaws place and a hotel so I think the PnP was just plain uncomfortable.

First interview went really well and OMG I want that job! Part time reading teacher! Full day Tuesday, Wednesday, and half day Thursday!! It couldn't be any better than that! Now to play the waiting and hoping game. Oh, and to go do an interview for a much less perfect job. Thanks for all the good wishes, ladies!!
